Crime Talk Network
Privacy
Effective October 10, 2026.
Crime Talk Network is operated by Domain Investment Properties LLC. This policy covers the website at www.crimetalknetwork.com and the Crime Talk mobile app (bundle id com.crimetalknetwork.app). This page is not legal advice and it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
The site and the app are not directed at children under 13.
What we collect
You do not create an account to read the site, watch the show, or use the app.
If you turn on alerts in the Crime Talk app, we store the Expo push token for that device, the topics you choose (new stories, new videos, and live streams), and whether the phone is iOS or Android.
If you turn on alerts in a browser, we store the Web Push subscription — the browser endpoint and its encryption keys — and the topics you choose. On the website, new videos and live streams share one topic. In the app, live is its own topic.
If you type an email address into the subscribe form, we keep that address so we can send Crime Talk updates. If you post a score on a Mystery case and add a display name, we store that name with the score. There is still no account.
We do not run a third-party analytics product on the website or in the app. The host keeps ordinary server logs, such as IP address, browser, and the page or API path requested, to operate and protect the service. Those logs are not a profile of you and they are not sold.
Push notifications
App tokens sit in private storage on this site. To deliver an alert we send the token to Expo, which hands it to Apple Push Notification service or Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. The alert is a headline and a link. Its data includes the type (story, video, or live), a path on this site, and the story slug or YouTube video id so the app can open the right screen.
We delete an app token when the app unregisters it, or when Expo tells us the device is no longer registered. We delete a Web Push subscription when you turn alerts off, or when the browser push service says the endpoint is gone.
Topic choices are used only to decide which alerts to send. We do not sell tokens or subscriptions, and we do not share them with advertisers.
On the website, alerts are managed at Subscribe. In the app, turning alerts off removes the token.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not have user accounts on the website or in the app.
- We do not buy data about you or build an advertising profile.
- We do not use push tokens for anything except the alerts you asked for.
YouTube
Story pages, Watch, and Live embed YouTube. When a video plays, that playback is governed by Google’s privacy policy. Google receives the information its player normally receives, including your IP address.
Podcast audio
Crime Talk podcast audio is hosted by Libsyn. Listening there is governed by Libsyn’s privacy policy.
Facebook on the website
Some pages show the official Facebook Page plugin. Loading that plugin is governed by Facebook’s privacy policy. The Crime Talk app does not embed that plugin.
