DOJ announces Hamas terror-finance arrests of Abdel and Omar Adhami in Louisiana and Raed Yousef in Florida.
On Oct. 2, 2026, the Justice Department announced coordinated charges tied to an alleged Hamas fundraising network. Abdel Adhami, 35, and Omar Adhami, 33, of Covington, Louisiana, and Raed Yousef, 56, of Lutz, Florida, face federal material-support and related counts. An indictment is an allegation.

Material-support and money-laundering charges are accusations. They are not convictions. The Justice Department says the cases connect U.S. donors to a Gaza-based fundraiser, Saleem Alzaq, who is charged separately in New York. Dollar figures and social-media paths in the press release are the government's theory. Every count still has to be proved beyond a reasonable doubt, and French arrests of other associates do not decide the Louisiana or Florida cases.
The Justice Department Office of Public Affairs announced Oct. 2, 2026, the unsealing of charges against Saleem Alzaq and the arrests of Omar Adhami, Abdel Adhami, and Raed Yousef for allegedly paying, soliciting, or collecting funds for Hamas. NBC News and NOLA.com covered the Louisiana brothers' cases. The Adhami complaints are in the Eastern District of Louisiana; Yousef is charged in the Middle District of Florida. An indictment or complaint is process. It is not a finding of guilt.
According to the DOJ announcement, Abdel Adhami allegedly contributed about $94,000 and Omar Adhami about $11,000 to the network from roughly February 2021 through September 2026, using wires and intermediaries. Yousef allegedly provided almost $50,000. Prosecutors say Alzaq, described as a Hamas member in Gaza, raised more than $1.7 million since about January 2020 through campaigns framed as humanitarian aid. Those dollar totals are government allegations in charging papers.
Abdel and Omar Adhami each face counts including providing and conspiring to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, conspiracy to commit wire fraud, and conspiracy to commit money laundering, with statutory maximums of up to 20 years on several counts as described by DOJ. Yousef faces material-support, designated-terrorist funding, money-laundering, and passport-fraud counts. DOJ states an indictment is merely an allegation and that all defendants are presumed innocent until proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.
WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.
The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.
A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
