Uribe was sentenced to life for the murder of David Navidad-Parra. Sanchez's courtroom arrest is a separate accusation.

On Wednesday, Sept. 22, in Maricopa County Superior Court in Phoenix, Abel Uribe was sentenced to life in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in the 2022 killing of David Navidad-Parra, 27. After a victim-impact statement, Alberto Ontiveros Sanchez, 55, was arrested over an alleged courtroom attack and released on his own recognizance.

Uribe's life sentence after a guilty plea is the judgment on the murder case. It is not a finding about what happened in the courtroom afterward. Alberto Ontiveros Sanchez's arrest and release on his own recognizance is a separate accusation about courtroom conduct: a booking and an own-recognizance release are not a conviction on the assault allegation. Uribe remains the person sentenced for the murder.

David Navidad-Parra, 27, a U.S. Army captain and West Point graduate, was shot in 2022 during a private vehicle sale. The Phoenix Police Department reported that the vehicle was later found burned in Glendale. Abel Uribe pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in that killing. On Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2026, he was in Maricopa County Superior Court, at the South Court Tower in Phoenix, and was sentenced to life in prison. That life sentence is the judgment on the plea. It is not a trial verdict.

After Alberto Ontiveros Sanchez, 55, Navidad-Parra's father-in-law, delivered a victim-impact statement, he allegedly lunged and punched Uribe, who was handcuffed and in leg chains, about four or five times in the back of the head. The defense said Sanchez saw Uribe laughing or snickering. The judge cleared the courtroom. Sanchez was arrested. The judge condemned courtroom violence and released Sanchez on his own recognizance, acknowledging the grief. Defense remarks reported that Sanchez has no prior criminal history. FOX 10 Phoenix published the courtroom-attack video story on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026. The arrest and the release are not the murder judgment. Sanchez is presumed innocent of any new charge unless and until he is convicted.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
