Attempted murder and kidnapping are charges. Held without bond, in WBAL, and held without bail, in one FOX45 story, are not the same word. Five stab wounds, in Alexa Ashwell's FOX45 story, and multiple stab wounds, in Ashley Cusicanqui's FOX45 story, are not the same count. Nov. 25 is the next date both FOX45 stories print. WBAL's Monday story does not print it.

WBAL, on a page updated at 11:09 p.m. EDT on Oct. 24, 2026, that lists Tori Yorgey as reporter and Charlotte McAleer as digital writer, reported a 23-year-old Baltimore man is charged with first-degree attempted murder for stabbing a 15-year-old girl Thursday night in Northwest Baltimore, which it attributed to a Baltimore Police announcement on Saturday. It reported units responded to the 3800 block of Belle Avenue around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday for a report of a stabbing. It reported officers found a 15-year-old girl who said she had escaped from a basement in the area and was stabbed by an unknown man. It reported she is expected to survive. It reported that on Saturday investigators apprehended 23-year-old Abubakarr Barrie in the 3700 block of Garrison Boulevard, a few blocks and less than half a mile from where police found the teen with a stab wound. A stab wound, in that sentence, and stabbing, in the lede, are not the same count. It reported that, according to court records, he has been charged with first- and second-degree attempted murder, numerous assault charges, kidnapping, and false imprisonment. It reported he had a bail review scheduled Monday morning. Thursday, on a story updated Saturday, Oct. 24, is Oct. 22. The story does not print Oct. 22. The girl is not named.

WBAL, on a page updated at 9:34 p.m. EDT on Oct. 26, 2026, that lists Tommie Clark as reporter, reported a Baltimore man accused of kidnapping and attacking a 15-year-old girl in his basement was ordered held without bond during a court appearance Monday. Monday after the Saturday bail-review notice is Oct. 26. It reported the allegations against 23-year-old Abubakarr Barrie, a full-time Uber Eats driver, are in charging documents. It reported that on Thursday the 15-year-old girl accepted a ride from him as part of an unlicensed rideshare, known as a hack, that he drove in the wrong direction from the restaurant she was trying to reach, and that he then became violent. It reported she said he took her to his home on Garrison Boulevard and forced her into the basement. The sentence in that story about clothing is not repeated here. It reported she fought back, hit him with a fire extinguisher, and escaped, and that she found help on Belle Avenue, about five minutes away. About five minutes, in this story, and less than half a mile, in the Oct. 24 story, are not the same measure. It reported she gave detectives his Cash App information and identified his car, that her phone pinged at his home using Find My iPhone, and that police served an arrest warrant on Saturday. It reported the public defender's office said he has lived in the house for only one month. It reported she is recovering in the hospital from her injuries, including a collapsed lung. It reported he faces charges of attempted first-degree murder and several other offenses. First-degree attempted murder, on Oct. 24, and attempted first-degree murder, on Oct. 26, are not the same word order. Several other offenses, on Oct. 26, and the Oct. 24 list of second-degree attempted murder, numerous assault charges, kidnapping, and false imprisonment, are not the same charge line. This story does not print five wounds, a street number, or Nov. 25. Uber Eats is this story. The Oct. 24 story does not print it. The girl is not named.

FOX45 News, in a story by Alexa Ashwell published Monday, October 26, 2026, at 5:59 p.m. and updated at 7:40 p.m., with no zone printed on those lines, reported bond has been denied for the man accused of kidnapping and stabbing a 15-year-old girl after she accepted a ride from him, in northwest Baltimore. It reported Abubakarr Barrie, 23, appeared by video in Baltimore City District Court after his arrest on nine criminal charges including first- and second-degree attempted murder, kidnapping, and assault. Nine charges, in this story, and numerous assault charges, in WBAL's Oct. 24 story, are not the same count. It reported that, according to charging documents, on October 22 he is accused of picking her up in his car near Druid Hill Park and kidnapping her, and of dragging her into the basement of his home. The sentence in that story about clothing is not repeated here. It reported she fought off her attacker, escaped, and ran for help. It did not print a fire extinguisher. It reported first responders rushed her to Sinani hospital, where medical professionals determined she had suffered five stab wounds, one of which led to a collapsed lung. Five, in this story, and a stab wound, in WBAL's Oct. 24 sentence, are not the same number. Sinani is the spelling on this page. It reported she had hacked, or accepted a ride, and was trying to get to a carry-out called PlataKing in northeast Baltimore. Hacked or accepted a ride, in this story, and an unlicensed rideshare known as a hack, in WBAL, are not the same definition. It reported she told detectives that when she said he was driving the wrong way he became violent. The sentence describing how he held her is not repeated here. It reported detectives traced a phone number on a Cash App account to him, along with his vehicle, and that she identified him in a photo lineup. It reported the defense said he has no prior criminal history. The same story reported online records of a separate Baltimore County arrest nearly three months earlier that was marked stet, which the station said means the case is on hold. That is not a conviction on these charges. The charge in that separate case is not described here. It reported he remains in custody until his preliminary hearing on November 25. Bond denied, in this story, and held without bond, in WBAL, are not the same words. The girl is not named.

FOX45 News, in a story by Ashley Cusicanqui published Monday, October 26, 2026, at 10:31 p.m. and updated Wednesday, October 28, 2026, at 2:27 p.m., with no zone printed, reported a 23-year-old Baltimore man is being held without bail, accused of kidnapping and stabbing a 15-year-old girl. Without bail, in this story, and without bond, in WBAL, are not the same word. It reported charging documents say she got into a car driven by Abubakarr Barrie, 23, for what she described as a hack, an unlicensed taxi ride, and that he picked her up from her sister's home. The sister is not named. An unlicensed taxi, in this story, and an unlicensed rideshare, in WBAL, are not the same words. It reported she wanted to go to PlattaKing on Belair Road. PlattaKing, in this story, and PlataKing, in Alexa Ashwell's story, are not the same spelling. It reported that when she questioned the direction he became violent. The sentence describing how he held her is not repeated here. It reported charging documents say he took her to a home at 3705 Garrison Blvd. 3705, in this story, and the 3700 block, where WBAL said he was apprehended, are not the same specificity. It reported police said he forced her inside. The sentence in that story about clothing is not repeated here. It reported she fought back with a fire extinguisher and escaped. It reported officers responded to the 3800 block of Belle Avenue, just blocks from the home, and that someone helped her call her mother and 911. Multiple stab wounds, in this story, and five stab wounds, in Alexa Ashwell's story, are not the same count. It reported he was arrested Oct. 24 and faces several charges, including attempted first-degree murder and kidnapping. It reported his next court date is Nov. 25. Next court date, in this story, and preliminary hearing, in Alexa Ashwell's story, are not the same description of Nov. 25. WMAR, in a story by Siobhan Garrett whose page says posted and last updated and does not print a clock, reported police say he stabbed a 15-year-old girl multiple times inside a Garrison Boulevard home on Oct. 22. It reported she accepted a ride from Abubakarr Barrie, whom she believed was operating a hack, an unlicensed taxi. It reported she asked for a ride to a carryout on Belair Road and that he restrained her. It did not print PlataKing or PlattaKing. It reported charging documents say he forced her into the home. It reported she fought back with a fire extinguisher and escaped, and that she was taken to Sinai Hospital with multiple wounds. Sinai, in WMAR, and Sinani, in Alexa Ashwell's FOX45 story, are not the same spelling. It reported investigators used a Cash App account and a vehicle registered in his name, and that an iPhone 14 was tracked to his Garrison Boulevard address. An iPhone 14, in WMAR, and Find My iPhone, in WBAL, are not the same description. It reported he was arrested Oct. 24 and faces charges including attempted first-degree murder, kidnapping, and first-degree assault. First-degree assault, in WMAR, is not a count WBAL's Oct. 26 story or either FOX45 story printed by that name. WMAR did not print a bond, five wounds, or Nov. 25. Its page says the story was initially reported by a journalist and converted to the platform with the assistance of AI, and that the editorial team verifies reporting. The girl is not named in any of these stories. She is not named here. The charges are accusations. They are not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
