The only public account so far is one line of booking language: an alleged attempt, by physical menace, to put a domestic victim in fear of serious bodily harm. That is an accusation pulled from a jail record, not a finding. Maddox is a deep backup who has not played this season, but with Ole Miss preparing for Texas, how the program responds will get as much attention as the case itself.
Ole Miss quarterback AJ Maddox was arrested Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, in Oxford, Miss., on a charge of simple domestic violence, the Clarion Ledger reported, citing Lafayette County Sheriff's Office records. He was booked at 6:41 a.m. and was entered into the system under his full first name, Anthony, the paper reported. SuperTalk Mississippi reported he was booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center, and Sports Illustrated's Ole Miss On SI and On3 also reported the arrest.
According to the booking information, Maddox, 21, is alleged to have "attempted by physical menace to put a domestic victim in fear of imminent serious bodily harm," the Clarion Ledger reported. SuperTalk Mississippi reported that details of the incident are limited. The alleged victim has not been identified, and authorities have not publicly described what happened. No bond amount had been disclosed as of Tuesday afternoon, Sports Illustrated reported, and SuperTalk Mississippi reported the Ole Miss football program had not commented.
Maddox is a 6-foot-1, 190-pound junior from Hattiesburg, the Clarion Ledger reported. SuperTalk Mississippi reported he was a four-star quarterback at Oak Grove High School, where he won a state championship, and enrolled at Ole Miss in 2024. He has not appeared in a game in the 2026 season, and he played in two games in 2025, completing one pass for 19 yards against The Citadel, according to the Clarion Ledger. On3 reported he is the No. 4 quarterback on the roster behind starter Trinidad Chambliss, Deuce Knight and Walker Howard.
Sports Illustrated reported that Maddox is the fifth Ole Miss player to run into legal trouble since January. The arrest comes the week the Rebels are scheduled to play Texas, On3 reported. An arrest is an accusation, and a booking record is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

An Oahu grand jury indicted Orion Satori on a second-degree murder charge in the Young Street stabbing of Kiril Stoimenov.
An indictment means a grand jury found enough to send the case forward. It is not a finding of guilt. Police have said Satori did the stabbing, according to Hawaii News Now. The next step is arraignment, where he will be asked to enter a plea. Second-degree murder in Hawaii carries a maximum of life with the possibility of parole, the station reported.
