The 82 mph figure is what FOX 4 and WFAA say the affidavit recorded, in a 35 mph zone. The clock is not shared. WFAA puts the crash at about 7:11 p.m. FOX 4's Oct. 18 story puts the police response at about 7:52 p.m. That same Oct. 18 story said investigators had clarified that no third vehicle fled. FOX 4's Oct. 20 affidavit story said a third vehicle left before police arrived. The two manslaughter counts are charges.

Fox News reported Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, that Aldrea Rogers, 22, was booked into the Dallas County Jail on Oct. 16 on two counts of manslaughter in the deaths of Julian Harris and Madison Duren. The station reported bond of $250,000 on each count and a total of $500,000 as of Wednesday afternoon, from jail records. FOX 4 reported Oct. 18 that she was booked that Friday into the jail's North Tower, that each count is a second-degree felony, and that the bond on each count is $250,000. FOX 4 and WFAA reported the crash was Oct. 6 in the 9200 block of Garland Road near Knob Oak Drive. Fox News reported Harris and Duren had recently graduated from Southern Methodist University, where they shared a passion for theater. FOX 4's Oct. 18 story reported they performed with Kitchen Dog Theater, Teatro Dallas and Hip Pocket Theatre, and that SMU scheduled a memorial for Oct. 31 at 4 p.m. Fox News reported the memorial is Oct. 31 at the university and did not give the hour.

The age on Harris moves inside FOX 4's own coverage. The Oct. 18 story calls him 23 and calls Duren 22. The Oct. 20 story, citing the arrest affidavit, calls both of them 22 and says Harris was driving eastbound on Knob Oak Drive in a Toyota Prius with Duren in the passenger seat when he turned left onto Garland Road and a Hyundai Elantra driven by Rogers struck the Prius. WFAA, citing police documents, calls Duren 22 and Harris 23, and it is more specific about the cars. It reported Harris was driving a black 2014 Toyota Prius eastbound on Knob Oak Drive, that Duren was in the front right seat, that he came to a complete stop at the stop sign, and that he turned left onto northbound Garland Road. It reported the Prius was struck on the driver's side by a southbound red 2019 Hyundai Elantra. WFAA puts the crash at approximately 7:11 p.m. FOX 4's Oct. 18 story says Dallas police and Dallas Fire-Rescue responded around 7:52 p.m. WFAA reported Harris died at the scene and Duren later died at Baylor Scott & White Hospital. FOX 4's Oct. 18 story reported Duren was taken to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, where she later died. Fox News reported Harris died at the scene and Duren died at a hospital, and did not name the hospital.

The third vehicle is the account FOX 4 published and then published again in the other direction. The Oct. 18 story said initial police reports indicated a third vehicle fled before officers arrived, and that family members confirmed investigators later clarified no third vehicle was involved. The Oct. 20 story said police found three vehicles had been involved and that the third vehicle left before police responded. WFAA's affidavit story describes the Prius and the Elantra and does not describe a third vehicle leaving. On the people in Rogers's car, the outlets agree and then count them differently. Fox News reported her two young children were in the vehicle and that all three survived. WFAA reported two juvenile children were traveling with her. FOX 4's Oct. 20 story reported the children were in the vehicle, that all three were taken to the hospital, and that they survived. FOX 4's Oct. 18 story said three other individuals were taken to a local hospital, after it had already said Duren was taken to Baylor. WFAA quoted the affidavit's language that Rogers "recklessly operated a motor vehicle by traveling approximately 82 miles per hour in a 35 miles per hour zone and caused a motor vehicle collision." FOX 4's Oct. 20 story reported the affidavit put her peak speed at 82 mph where the listed speed is 35. Fox News attributed that speed to FOX 4's account of the affidavit and reported that Fox News Digital had asked Dallas police and the county courts for its own copy.

WFAA quoted Duren's mother, Sharon Duren, on how the couple met in a Shakespeare play: "They fell in love and they fell in love really hard." FOX 4 quoted a friend, Eli Barron, saying, "To me, it's been incomprehensible and bizarre that Julian and [Madison] died to begin with," and, "They were obsessed with knowledge, obsessed with learning, obsessed with people." It quoted another friend, Emmet Overcarsh, on the children in the car: "It just kind of makes it even more unreal to me." Those are the family's and the friends' words in the stations' stories. The two manslaughter counts are what the jail records and the affidavit accounts list. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff's officials named Edward Villa as the suspect after Katie Kinder, her son and her mother were found shot to death in Happy Valley.

Thursday's briefing names the three people and names Villa as the only suspect. The warrant was three counts of first-degree murder. He was found dead before an arrest. KPTV, citing Warrenton police, called it an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. KGW reported Detective Matt Lysaght would not go past a gunshot deputies heard, a firearm in the room, and the fact that no officer fired. KPTV and OPB call the motel the South Jetty Inn. An Oahu grand jury indicted Orion Satori on a second-degree murder charge in the Young Street stabbing of Kiril Stoimenov.

An indictment means a grand jury found enough to send the case forward. It is not a finding of guilt. Police have said Satori did the stabbing, according to Hawaii News Now. The next step is arraignment, where he will be asked to enter a plea. Second-degree murder in Hawaii carries a maximum of life with the possibility of parole, the station reported.
