A Spanish pretrial detention order holds a suspect while a sealed investigation continues. It does not prove a charge. Sur in English reported the Marbella judge's order as prisión provisional, comunicada y sin fianza. The Olive Press reported the 18-year-old has denied firing the shots. Police theories about a contract killing and gang ties are reports. They are not findings.
Dr. Alexander Aslani, 57, was shot dead on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026, inside Cirumed Clinic in Marbella, Spain. Sur in English reported the shooting was shortly before 6 p.m. A hooded gunman dressed in black fired at close range, striking Aslani in the head and neck while he was with a patient, then fled on a motorcycle, Sur reported. Paramedics could not stabilize him, and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Sur reported. The Telegraph reported he was shot multiple times in the head in front of patients, staff, and his wife. She is not named here. He was German-born. An Oct. 9 Sur in English report said he created the Supercharged BBL variant and had performed more than 7,000 Brazilian butt lift operations. The Telegraph reported he was known for that supercharged butt-lift technique and had 200,000 followers.
National Police arrested an 18-year-old Swedish national on Thursday, less than 24 hours after the shooting, Sur in English reported. The Olive Press reported the arrest was in Benalmádena. No outlet used here has named him. Sur reported that on Saturday, Oct. 10, the duty judge of Court No. 1 at the Marbella investigating court ordered him held without bail and printed the order as prisión provisional, comunicada y sin fianza. Sur's English copy called that solitary confinement. The Spanish phrase it printed is pretrial detention without bail in which the defendant can communicate with counsel. Canal Sur reported the High Court of Justice of Andalusia confirmed that same order. The Olive Press reported he has been remanded without bail. A remand is not a conviction. The case file is under seal, Sur and Canal Sur reported.
What he told the court is not one story. An Oct. 9 Sur in English report said the arrested teenager had admitted carrying out the killing. El Mundo reported that on Saturday he repeatedly denied being the person who fired the shots. Canal Sur reported he repeatedly denied involvement in his statement to the judge. The Olive Press reported he has repeatedly denied being the person who fired the fatal shots. An early report of an admission and later reports of a denial are not the same account. Neither is a verdict.
Investigators have not announced a proven motive. Sur reported detectives suspect a contract killing and that judicial sources put the file under secrecy while they look for who else was involved. The Olive Press, citing El Mundo and El Debate, reported detectives are examining the family of a Colombian patient who died after surgery at the clinic, and that there is no public evidence linking that family to the killing. The Olive Press also reported a separate refund dispute is being examined, and that it remains unclear whether either dispute is connected. Sur reported Aslani went to police in April and filed a complaint about threats tied to his work. The Telegraph, citing Sur, reported the same April complaint. Those are lines of inquiry. They are not a finding that a patient, a relative, or anyone else ordered the shooting.
The Olive Press reported the 18-year-old is alleged to have links to the Stockholm-based Shottaz gang. El Debate reported he belongs to that gang. Those are news reports of a suspected link. They are not a court finding, and the outlets used here have not quoted police confirming gang membership. The Olive Press reported he was arrested on suspicion of carrying out the killing and that investigators are still asking who, if anyone, commissioned it. Suspicion, a remand, and a gang allegation are not proof. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

St. Petersburg police arrested Jaida Thomas-McFatten on a warrant in a deadly scooter hit-and-run.
An arrest on a leaving-the-scene warrant is an accusation. It is not a conviction for causing the death. Police described the man crossing outside the crosswalk and against the walk signal into the westbound curb lane. That is the department's account of how the collision happened. The charge filed is leaving the scene of a crash involving death. Causation and fault remain for a court, not a press release.
