Memphis police said Andreal Settles, 41, was taken into custody on a first-degree murder warrant in a 2023 Frayser Boulevard shooting.

The department's release is dated November 6, 2026. It says the warrant was issued November 3 and that Settles was taken into custody without incident on November 5. Action News 5, by Lydian Coombs, published at 4:14 p.m. CST on Nov. 5, says a release Thursday and that booking records show a Thursday-morning capture. The victim is not named. The release does not print a pronoun.

November 6 on the police page, and a release Thursday on Action News 5, are not the same date. The person responsible, and a suspect, are not the same word. The 1100 block of Frayser Boulevard, and an area near Millington Road, are not the same place line. Taken into custody without incident on November 5, and captured Thursday morning, are not the same clock. The victim is not named.

The Memphis Police Department, in a release dated November 6, 2026, with no clock, reported investigators made arrests in three separate homicide investigations within a 48-hour period, including a case from January 2023. This account is the Frayser Boulevard section of that release. The other two arrests are not this charge. Under the heading Frayser Boulevard and case 2301001443ME, it reported that on January 3, 2023, at approximately 10:25 p.m., officers responded to a shooting in the 1100 block of Frayser Boulevard. It reported a male victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital in critical condition, where he later died. It does not print his name or an age. It reported detectives identified Andreal Settles, 41, as the person responsible. It reported an arrest warrant was issued on November 3, 2026, charging Settles with First-Degree Murder, and that on November 5 Settles was located and taken into custody without incident. The person responsible, in that release, is not the word suspect. First-Degree Murder is the charge name on that page. It reported the homicide bureau maintains an 89 percent homicide clearance rate. A clearance rate is not a finding in this case.

Action News 5, by Lydian Coombs, published Nov. 5, 2026, at 4:14 p.m. CST, with an updated line that printed a relative time and did not print a second clock, reported five arrests in three separate murder cases within 48 hours, including a 2023 cold case. Five arrests, on that page, and arrests in three investigations, on the police release, are not the same count. It says the department touted the updates in a release Thursday. A release Thursday, and a police page dated November 6, are not the same date. It reported Andreal Settles, 41, is charged with first-degree murder in a shooting that left a man dead in an area of Frayser Boulevard near Millington Road on Jan. 3, 2023. Near Millington Road, and the 1100 block of Frayser Boulevard, are not the same place line. It says the 38-year-old victim was rushed to a hospital for treatment but did not survive. Age 38 is on Action News 5. It is not on the police release. Rushed to a hospital and did not survive, and transported in critical condition where he later died, are not the same medical line. It says police issued a warrant on Nov. 3 after identifying her as a suspect. Her, and a suspect, are Action News 5's words. The police release does not print a pronoun, and it says the person responsible. It says booking records show Settles was captured Thursday morning. Thursday morning, and November 5 with no clock, are not the same time. Captured, and located and taken into custody without incident, are not the same sentence. First-degree murder, on Action News 5, and First-Degree Murder, on the police release, are not the same capitalization. The story says the bureau maintains an 89 percent clearance rate for homicide cases. An 89 percent clearance rate for homicide cases, and an 89 percent homicide clearance rate, are not the same phrase. A search for a FOX13 Memphis or WREG story naming Settles did not turn one up. A FOX13 story dated Nov. 4, 2026, about a shooting in the 3800 block of Edenburg Drive in Frayser, does not name Settles. That call is not this warrant.

The warrant is the charge those two pages describe. It does not print a conviction, a plea, or a trial date. The victim is not named on either page. The police release does not print a pronoun. Action News 5 printed her. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count. A bench outside Father O'Connell Hall, and a park on the campus, and a small plaza by that hall, and the 600 block of Alumni Lane, are not the same place. Brookland-CUA Metro, and Brookland Metro, and Brookland-Catholic University Metro, are not the same station line. Snapchat messages, and a message, and an urgent message, are not the same account. Cash App, and cash app, and $300 with no app named, are not the same line. Judge Kravitz accepted the plea and found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. A 12-to-15-year range is not the sentence. Sentencing has not happened.
