A jury guilty verdict is a finding of guilt on the counts the jury returned. It is not a sentence. On Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, Arshpreet Singh and Vikramjeet Singh were convicted of conspiracy to commit theft from interstate or foreign shipments after a seven-day trial, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California announced. Arshpreet Singh was also convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Vikramjeet Singh was acquitted of the wire-fraud conspiracy count. Sentencing before U.S. District Judge Anne Hwang is set for Jan. 20, 2027.
The Justice Department said evidence at trial showed that from March 2024 to June 2025 the defendants and others bought or fraudulently used real trucking companies to bid on authentic shipping contracts, took possession of the cargo, and did not deliver it. Stolen loads included high-value electronics such as televisions and laptops, appliances, vacuums, LED lights, shoes, and tires, with an estimated loss of at least $2 million. Thefts were described across Southern California sites including Fontana, Vernon, Santa Fe Springs, Perris, City of Industry, Long Beach, Compton, Commerce, Pico Rivera, Chino, and Moreno Valley, as well as Grand Prairie, Texas. Those facts are the trial record as the government summarized it. They are not a sentencing judgment.
KTLA and the Press Enterprise reported the same conviction split and the January 2027 sentencing date. Arshpreet Singh faces a statutory maximum of 20 years on the wire-fraud conspiracy count, and Vikramjeet Singh faces up to five years on the interstate-shipment theft conspiracy count. Statutory maximums are exposure at sentencing. They are not the terms the court has imposed.
The FBI’s Inland Violent Crime Suppression Task Force and partner agencies investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorneys Stephen Chang and Lloyd Masson are prosecuting. A conviction is the guilt finding. The sentence has not been entered. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.
WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.
The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.
A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
