Wagenius was sentenced to 70 months and $294,978 in restitution.

Cameron John Wagenius, 22, a former U.S. Army soldier most recently stationed in Texas, was sentenced Friday in the Western District of Washington to 70 months in prison and ordered to pay $294,978 in restitution. The judgment follows guilty pleas to wire-fraud conspiracy, computer-fraud extortion, aggravated identity theft, and two phone-records counts.

A sentence after a guilty plea is the court's judgment on the counts he admitted. It is not a new accusation. On Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, Cameron John Wagenius, 22, was sentenced in the Western District of Washington to 70 months in prison and ordered to pay $294,978 in restitution after pleas to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, extortion in relation to computer fraud, aggravated identity theft, and two counts of unlawful transfer of confidential phone records information.

The Justice Department said that between April 2023 and Dec. 18, 2024, Wagenius used the online nickname "kiberphant0m" and conspired to obtain login credentials for protected networks of at least 10 victim organizations, including with a tool described as SSH Brute. Telegram chats, stolen data, and extortion both privately and on the forums BreachForums and XSS.is are part of that account. The Department said he attempted to extort at least $1 million in total. Those are the facts the government described in the case that ended in Friday's sentence.

In November 2024, two online posts disclosed stolen confidential non-content call detail records of a government official and of the family of another former official, and threatened further disclosure unless a ransom was paid. Wagenius pleaded guilty on March 5, 2025, to two counts of unlawful transfer of confidential phone records information, and on July 15, 2025, to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, extortion in relation to computer fraud, and aggravated identity theft.

Friday's 70-month term and the $294,978 restitution order are the judgment on those pleas. Wagenius is a former U.S. Army soldier most recently stationed in Texas. The sentence is the court's judgment. It does not reopen the March 5 or July 15 pleas as new charges.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
