Federal sentences after conviction or plea are the judgment on those counts. They are not a fresh accusation. On Sept. 25, 2026, the court in the Southern District of Iowa sentenced Chijioke Timothy Odimegwu to 111 months and Harafat Mogaji to 78 months, and ordered restitution of $366,617.59 and $995,680.45. Those restitution orders are court-imposed, and collection is separate from the prison terms.

On Sept. 25, 2026, former U.S. Air Force members Chijioke Timothy Odimegwu, 25, and Harafat Mogaji, 26, were sentenced in federal court in the Southern District of Iowa. Military.com, Delaware Online, KCRG, and WBOC placed both in Delaware and tied them to Dover Air Force Base. WBOC reported that a federal indictment described both as Air Force members stationed at Dover while the offenses were committed. Odimegwu was sentenced to 111 months and ordered to pay $366,617.59 in restitution. Mogaji was sentenced to 78 months and ordered to pay $995,680.45. Together the prison terms are 189 months. Each man was ordered to serve three years of supervised release after prison.

Prosecutors described a scheme that used spam and phishing to steal employee email credentials, redirect business wire payments, and harvest financial and card data. They said more than $1.68 million was diverted from an Iowa City victim to a Chicago account controlled by conspirators, and more than $720,000 from an Ohio victim. Military.com, citing the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of Iowa, reported that about $2.4 million was diverted by wire transfer. The same reporting said the scheme also targeted card information belonging to a nonprofit in Pella, Iowa.

Delaware Online described the charges as conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, conspiracy to commit access device fraud, and aggravated identity theft. The Sept. 25 sentences are the court's judgment in the case. The restitution figures are orders of the court. Collecting that money is a separate step from serving the prison terms.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
