LAPD homicide detectives searched Joshua Tree on Friday for evidence in Christina Downer's disappearance.
Fox News and NBC Los Angeles reported that on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, detectives from the Los Angeles Police Department's Robbery-Homicide Division searched the Joshua Tree area for evidence in the disappearance of Christina Lynn Downer, 38. She was last contacted in Koreatown in late November 2025, and a missing-person report was filed in December. Her brother, "Saturday Night Live" writer Jimmy Fowlie, said in April that police told the family she was dead. The department has said she has not been located.

A search by homicide detectives is a step in an investigation. It is not an arrest, and it is not a finding that anyone killed Christina Downer. Fox News reported the LAPD would not say what evidence detectives hoped to find in Joshua Tree, or whether they were looking for remains or a suspect. NBC Los Angeles reported that dogs were part of the search. Fox News reported a department spokesperson could not confirm the dogs. No one has been named or charged.
Fox News reported that an LAPD spokesperson confirmed detectives with the Robbery-Homicide Division began searching the Joshua Tree area Friday morning, Oct. 9, 2026. Authorities did not disclose the exact location or what evidence they hoped to find. NBC Los Angeles reported that the department told NBC4 Investigates the detectives, along with dogs, were looking for evidence in Downer's disappearance, and that they did not confirm they were searching for remains. The New York Post also reported the Friday search. Fox News reported that during the search a media-relations officer could not confirm whether detectives were looking for human remains, a suspect, or other evidence, and could not confirm whether search dogs were involved. A search party answers a question about where investigators went. It does not answer what they found. Neither outlet reported a discovery.
Christina Lynn Downer, 38, disappeared from the Koreatown area of Los Angeles in late November 2025, Fox News reported, and a missing-person report followed in December. NBC Los Angeles reported she was last contacted in late November. Her brother, "Saturday Night Live" writer Jimmy Fowlie, wrote on Instagram in late April that police had told the family she was dead. Fox News reported the post said, "The LAPD has informed our family that Christina is no longer alive, and the case has officially transitioned from a missing person to a homicide investigation," and, "Our prayers for her to be found safely have transformed into prayers for the truth to be revealed and for those responsible to be held accountable." NBC Los Angeles reported the same April 29 post also said, "We have reason to believe that in the weeks before she went missing, her phone and social media were compromised. The individual(s) in possession of her phone used it to hide the fact she was gone, to ask for money, and to create a false narrative that she was going 'off the grid.'" That post is the family's account of what they say they were told. It is not a police press release, and it does not name a suspect.
The department disputed the April description. Fox News reported, citing FOX 11 Los Angeles, that the LAPD said Downer had not been located and that the case remained a missing-person investigation. "Although the circumstances of her disappearance are suspicious, Ms. Downer has not been located," the department said at the time, Fox News reported, and detectives would continue until the case was resolved. Fox News reported Friday that it remains unclear what led investigators to Joshua Tree and whether the official classification has changed since that statement. NBC Los Angeles reported the Robbery-Homicide Division handles high-profile and complex investigations. Assigning that unit is a staffing decision. It is not a charge. No arrest was announced Friday. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Page Six says unsealed records from the Lively-Baldoni fight include Ryan Reynolds texts calling Baldoni a "predator and sociopath."
A text message in a court file is proof that someone wrote something. It is not a finding that what he wrote is true. Reynolds was angry in August 2024, and the records Page Six obtained show it. Baldoni has denied Lively's allegations from the start, and no jury ever ruled on them. Page Six reported the case settled in May. What is left now is the paper trail.

LAPD booked Gregory Walker on a felony assault count in the February shooting of 49ers lineman Keion White.
A booking described to a newspaper is the police account of who is in custody and on what count. It is not a criminal complaint the public has seen, and it is not a conviction. The New York Post reported that LAPD officials named Gregory Walker as the suspected gunman in the February shooting of Keion White. The Post did not report a charge against Lil Baby, who was described as the person White argued with before the shots. What a witness told police about two gunshots is an allegation. A jury has not heard it.

Woah Vicky says her mother, Carla Elaine Johnson, has been found after a Miami missing-person report.
The search is over, by Vicky's account, and police never announced foul play or named a suspect. The misdemeanor battery case against Victoria Rose Waldrip is a separate file. It did not go away when her mother turned up, and that count still has to be proved on its own paperwork in court.
