NBC New York reported the Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, sentence was eight and a half years in prison and five years of post-release supervision. The Bronx District Attorney's release printed eight and half years, with no a, and approximately 20 stab wounds. NBC's headline printed 22 times. Daily Mail's lede printed 20 times, and a caption on that page printed over 22. Her young daughter is not named here.

Eight and a half, eight and half, and 8 1/2 are not the same typesetting. Approximately 20, more than 20, 22, over a dozen, and over 22 are not the same count, and more than one of them is on a single page. In the next room, in front of her, and a room away are not the same place for her daughter. Arrested the next day, and apprehended shortly after at a subway station, are not the same clock. Friday's sentencing, and sentenced on Wednesday, are not the same day, and they are on the same News 12 page.

NBC New York, by Melissa Colorado, published November 4, 2026, and updated on November 4, 2026, at 8:41 pm, with no zone on that clock, reported Christopher Joseph was sentenced Wednesday to eight and a half years in prison for the March 2025 attack on Kaitlynn Berman. The headline prints 8.5 years and 22 times. Eight and a half, in the body, and 8.5, in the headline, are not the same typesetting. A video caption on that page calls the station NBC4. NBC New York, in the byline, and NBC4, in the caption, are not the same name. It reported Berman said the 23-year-old Joseph was an acquaintance who she was trying to get to leave her Wakefield apartment. It reported that is when he pulled out a knife and stabbed her more than 20 times, Berman said, all of which happened in front of her 3-year-old daughter. More than 20, in that sentence, and 22, in the headline, are not the same count. The daughter is not named here. It reported police said he stole her cellphone and almost $6,000 in cash, and that he was arrested the next day and charged with attempted murder. It reported she spent the next month and a half in the hospital, recovered from multiple surgeries, and still lives with permanent nerve damage. The Bronx District Attorney's release 97-2026, for immediate release November 4, 2026, with no clock, reported Darcel D. Clark announced a Bronx man was sentenced to eight and half years in prison for repeatedly stabbing an acquaintance. Eight and half, with no a, is the sentence in that release. The headline prints 8 1/2 years and says the victim was stabbed approximately 20 times. It reported Christopher Joseph, 23, was sentenced that day to eight and half years in prison and five years of post-release supervision by Bronx Supreme Court Justice Timothy Lewis, and that he pleaded guilty to Attempted Murder in the Second Degree on September 16, 2026. Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, and attempted murder, as the arrest charge NBC printed, are not the same fullness. The release does not print Berman's name. It says the victim. It reported an Order of Protection bars him from any contact with the victim. News 12 Bronx, by Zoe Cosgrove, Nov. 4, 2026, at 2:24 PM, with no zone, reported he will serve 8 1/2 years behind bars and five years of post-release supervision. Behind bars, and in prison, are not the same phrase. It reported he pleaded guilty to second-degree attempted murder on Sept. 16. Second-degree attempted murder, and Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, are not the same word order. Sept. 16, with no year, and September 16, 2026, are not the same fullness. It reported an order of protection was issued during Friday's sentencing, and, later on the same page, that Christopher was sentenced on Wednesday. Friday, and Wednesday, are not the same day.

Where the attack happened, and where the daughter was, are not one scene. The district attorney's release reported that on March 22, 2025, Joseph was with the victim inside her apartment on East 225th Street, and the release text put a space in the ordinal, printing 225 th. It reported that, without warning, he stabbed her in the face, neck, hand and abdomen while her daughter was in the next room, that she sustained approximately 20 stab wounds, and that she was hospitalized for 48 days at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. In the next room, on that release, and in front of her 3-year-old daughter, on NBC New York, are not the same place. Approximately 20 stab wounds, and more than 20 times, and 22 times, are not the same count. The release also quotes Clark that he stabbed her over a dozen times while her daughter was in the next room. Over a dozen, in the quotation, and approximately 20, in the subhead and in the investigation paragraph, are not the same count, and they are on the same release. It reported he was apprehended shortly after the attack at a nearby subway station covered in blood. Shortly after, at a subway station, and arrested the next day, on NBC New York, are not the same arrest. News 12 reported the attack was inside her home, that her 3-year-old daughter was just a room away, and that during the plea hearing he admitted he tried to kill her during a kitchen knife attack that left her nearly blind and with permanent nerve damage on the right side of her face. A room away, and in the next room, and in front of her, are not the same place. A kitchen knife is on News 12. It is not on the district attorney's release or on the NBC page read here. Nearly blind is on News 12. It is not on those other two pages. The daughter is not named here. Daily Mail, with no byline in the text retrieved, published 13:47 EDT, 5 November 2026, and updated 14:01 EDT, reported a woman vomited after a man who stabbed her 20 times was sentenced, and it printed Kaitlynn Berman, 23, and Christopher Joseph, 23. Age 23 for Berman is on Daily Mail. It is not on the NBC article text, the News 12 text, or the district attorney's release. Those three print Joseph's age as 23 and do not print her age. Twenty times, in the Daily Mail lede, and a caption on that page that says he stabbed her over 22 times, are not the same count. The Daily Mail story is dated the day after the Wednesday sentence. It reported, attributing the account to NBC New York, that he was sentenced Wednesday after pulling a knife and stabbing her repeatedly in front of her daughter. Her daughter, in that Daily Mail sentence, does not print 3-year-old. It reported that, according to police, he made off with her cellphone and nearly $6,000 in cash and was arrested and charged with attempted murder the next day. Nearly $6,000, and almost $6,000, are not the same word. The district attorney's release does not print a cellphone or cash. News 12's text read here does not print them either.

What was said in court is not one quotation. NBC New York reported Berman was seen leaving the courtroom wiping away tears, and it quoted Bishop Boyde Singletary, "We are not satisfied. She is not satisfied, so overwhelmed that she threw up," and, "The woman has PTSD, she has nerve damage on both right hand and left hand, she has pain and trauma from the right side of her face. Her life is never the same." Both hands, and the right side of her face, are in that quotation. News 12's nerve-damage line is the right side of her face and does not print both hands. It reported she told the court the nerve damage has limited her independence and ability to work, and it quoted Singletary, "This man, this monster, Christopher Joseph, should be doing 22 years to life – one year for each stabbing. No remorse, no anything." It reported the judge agreed to the plea terms, eight and a half years behind bars and five years of post-release supervision, that Joseph will be 31 when the prison sentence is completed, and that he declined to say anything in court. Will be 31 is NBC's arithmetic. It is not printed on the other pages read here. It quoted victim advocate Buslim Maine, "This young lady is falling out, she can't take the trauma that she's still going through right now." Buslim Maine is on NBC. That name is not on News 12, Daily Mail, or the district attorney's release. It reported advocates said she plans to appeal the sentence and is planning to reach out to the Bronx District Attorney. Daily Mail called Singletary one of her advisors and printed the same not-satisfied quotation, split across sentences. Advisors, on Daily Mail, is not a word the NBC page uses for him. It reported that, according to Pix11, she addressed him in court, "You failed to take my life, and you won't take away my future," and that the outlet reported he had slashed her throat twice, her face below her right eye and across her nose, that she told the court about permanent nerve damage in her hands, and that she had three different surgeries and multiple blood transfusions during a two-day stay in hospital. Three surgeries, and a two-day stay, are Daily Mail's account of Pix11. Multiple surgeries, and a month and a half, are NBC. Forty-eight days at Jacobi are the district attorney's release. A two-day stay, a month and a half, and 48 days are not the same hospital length. The Pix11 page was not read here. That attribution is Daily Mail's. Daily Mail also printed a CBS quotation from Berman about the stabbing and described injury photographs and a GoFundMe. Those photographs were not used. A caption on the Daily Mail page refers to her daughter. The daughter is not named here and is not pictured.

The earlier court dates are not Wednesday's sentence. News 12 reported the trial date was initially set for June 2026, that the case faced delays, partially due to the due to the Bronx Defendants Strike, and that the doubled "due to the" is the wording on that page. It reported that on Dec. 10, 2025, Judge Darlene Goldberg released him on his own recognizance, without bail, after the D.A. failed to meet a key deadline to set bail, and that the office told News 12 it wanted cash bail set at $1 million. Judge Darlene Goldberg, on that December date, and Justice Timothy Lewis, on the sentence, are not the same judge. It reported prosecutors previously said they were seeking a 10-year prison sentence followed by five years of parole, and it quoted Berman, "Twenty-two years would sound fair," and, "I feel like 10 years that they're trying to offer is not enough." Ten years and five years of parole, and 22 years to life, and eight and a half years and five years of post-release supervision, are not the same term. Parole, and post-release supervision, are not the same word. It quoted her, "I don't go outside by myself," and, "I just feel like something is going to happen every time I'm outside." It quoted Clark's over-a-dozen sentence. Daily Mail reported he had pleaded not guilty in May of 2025 and was released without bail in December of last year, and that, according to court papers seen by CBS, he was released on his own recognizance after an email regarding an outstanding discovery went unanswered. May of 2025 is on Daily Mail. It is not on the News 12 text or the district attorney's release. An unanswered discovery email, as Daily Mail's account of CBS, and a missed deadline to set bail, on News 12, are not the same reason for the release. December of last year, on a November 2026 story, and Dec. 10, 2025, are not the same fullness. Daily Mail reported that NBC reported prosecutors had requested a 10-year sentence. The NBC page read here does not print a 10-year request. News 12 does. It reported that after her statement the judge asked Joseph if he wished to talk and he declined. Declined, on Daily Mail and on NBC, is not a line in the district attorney's release. A charge is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Middle District of Georgia release says Judge Self sentenced Josue Serda to life in prison. FOX 5 Atlanta and WSB-TV say life without parole.

Life in prison, and life without parole, and there is no parole in the federal system, are not the same sentence. More than 50 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 50 kilograms, are not the same quantity. Three investigations, and one ring that seized more than 200 kilograms, are not the same case. A charge against Raul Perez-Mondragon is an allegation.

Roland Chatmon and three others pleaded guilty in the kidnapping of his uncle, Curtis Dixon.

A guilty plea is the conviction on the counts a defendant admits. It is not the prison term. FOX 2 and the New York Post say the four kidnapping defendants face a mandatory minimum of seven years and a maximum of life, with hearings in 2027. WXYZ reported that all five, including Kenneth Anderson, face that range. FOX 2, CBS Detroit, and the Post say Anderson was already sentenced to probation.

Trials

An Ottawa jury found Fsha Tekhle guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing of Brkti Berhe.

A first-degree murder verdict is the jury's finding on that count. CBC wrote that the conviction comes with automatic life sentences, plural, and no eligibility for parole for 25 years. The Ottawa Citizen described an automatic sentence of life without parole for 25 years. No eligibility for parole for 25 years, and life without parole for 25 years, are not the same words. Tekhle admitted causing the death and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
