12:10 p.m. into the campus gate, and shortly after noon through a courtyard gate, are not the same clock. 12:11 p.m. as the moment he opened fire, and 12:11 p.m. as the 911 calls, are not the same event. Vice President and Intelligence Lead Analyst, and vice president of operations, are not the same title. Pronounced deceased at the scene, and fatally shot, are not the same sentence about the woman. Fraley is not charged.
The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, in release 26-186, dated Thursday November 5, 2026, at 4:16 p.m., with no zone printed on that line, reported Sheriff Chad Chronister's update on the shooting at Sabal Center in Tampa on November 4, 2026. Sabal Center in Tampa, on that release, and the Citibank Center in Brandon, and Sabal Park, already in this file, are not the same place name. It reported that on the morning of the shooting Jacob Pearson, 35, made threats against Citibank after being contacted about a court summons over a debt of approximately $2,500, and that he said he would bring a rifle and a bulletproof vest to the Citibank offices. A rifle and a bulletproof vest, in that release, the AR-15 quotation on Bay News 9, and the longer telephone warning on FOX 13, are not the same sentence. Approximately $2,500, a summons over a $2,500 payment, and a $2,500 delinquent payment are not the same phrasing. It reported law enforcement agencies in Orange County worked to locate him, that Orlando Police Department officers saw him leave a complex in a vehicle and issued an alert to area agencies, and that shortly before noon Citibank notified the sheriff's office of a credible threat to its Tampa campus. Saw him leave a complex and issued an alert, a welfare check that found he was not there, and a wife who said he left looking visibly angry are not the same account of the hours before noon. It reported that at 12:10 p.m. he crashed his vehicle into the campus gate, that at 12:11 p.m. he opened fire, killing an employee, and that deputies arrived on campus as the shooting began. 12:10 p.m. into the gate, shortly after noon through a courtyard security gate, and a secure fence line are not the same path or the same clock. 12:11 p.m. as the moment he opened fire, and 12:11 p.m. as the 911 calls of shots fired, already in this file from Wednesday's briefing, are not the same event. It reported that within one minute Citibank armed security guard John Fraley, 38, confronted Pearson in the building's cafeteria and shot him, and that Fraley is the Vice President and Intelligence Lead Analyst at Citibank. Age 38 is on this release. It is not on the Thursday FOX 13 or Bay News 9 pages already in this file. Vice President and Intelligence Lead Analyst, vice president of operations inside the FOX 13 quotation, and a security guard are not the same title. Within one minute of 12:11 p.m., and 12:15 p.m., already in this file as the cafeteria confrontation, are not the same clock. It reported that at 12:16 p.m. deputies arrived at the cafeteria and began administering aid until Hillsborough County Fire Rescue arrived, and that Pearson was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased at 1:12 p.m. 1:12 p.m. is not on the pages already in this file. It reported the victim, Leanne Selman, 41, was pronounced deceased at the scene, that next of kin had been notified, that she worked at Citibank for 9 years, and that she served as a Learning Advisor for Citi Security and Investigative Services. Pronounced deceased at the scene, executed, and fatally shot are not the same sentence. 9 years, and nine years, are not the same typesetting. Learning Advisor for Citi Security and Investigative Services, and a human resources learning advisor for Citi Security Investigative Services, are not the same job line. Leanne Selman, on this release, is the spelling. It does not print LeAnne or Selmon. It quoted Chronister that Fraley "is a hero, plain and simple," and that he "stopped the threat within minutes of the first shots being fired," and it reported more than 3,200 people were on the campus. A hero, plain and simple, a hero, and heroic actions are not the same words. It reported four other people went to the hospital, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and have been released. Have been released, on this release, and treated and released, on Thursday's FOX 13 story, and non-life-threatening injuries without that release line, on Thursday's Bay News 9 story, are not the same disposition. The release says the investigation remains active. Pearson is dead. Fraley is not charged. The child is not named here. The paragraphs below are the Thursday news-conference account from before this release.
Bay News 9, bylined Spectrum News Staff, published 2:10 p.m. ET and 2:10 p.m. EST on November 5, 2026, reported Sheriff Chad Chronister said at a Thursday afternoon news conference that the Citibank security guard who shot an armed suspect Wednesday was a hero. It identified the suspect as Jacob Pearson, 35, of Orlando. It reported he was married with a 7-year-old child, that he didn't have a previous criminal record, according to Chronister, and that he died at a local hospital. A 7-year-old child is the age on that page. The child is not named here. It identified the woman who was killed as Leanne Selman, 41, of Palm Harbor, and reported she worked at Citibank for nine years. It reported Chronister said the security guard's name is John Fraley. It quoted Chronister, "Our suspect took one life, and that's one life too many," and reported he stated that the suspect was carrying 90 rounds of ammunition. FOX 13 Tampa Bay, by Nancy Gay, published November 5, 2026, at 3:11 p.m. EST, printed LeAnne Selmon in a summary line under the byline and LeAnne Selman in the brief and in the body. LeAnne Selmon, in that summary line, and LeAnne Selman, in the brief and in the body, are not the same spelling, and they are on the same page. Leanne, on Bay News 9, and LeAnne, on FOX 13, are not the same capitalization. Selman, and Selmon, are not the same spelling. Neither spelling is selected here. FOX 13 reported Pearson, 35, lived in Orlando with his wife and their 7-year-old child and possessed no prior criminal record. Their 7-year-old child, on FOX 13, and a 7-year-old child, on Bay News 9, are not the same determiner. The child is not named here. It reported he sustained five gunshot wounds and was transported to Tampa General Hospital, where emergency doctors confirmed he died. Tampa General Hospital, on FOX 13, and a local hospital, on Bay News 9, are not the same place name. Five gunshot wounds are on FOX 13. They are not on the Bay News 9 page read here. It reported John Fraley, a Citibank security guard and Marine Corps veteran, tracked Pearson into a men's restroom and opened fire after taking a tactical position. A men's restroom, on this page, and the cafeteria, in Wednesday's briefing accounts, are not the same room. It quoted the sheriff, "He was there intent on one purpose and that purpose was to hunt any human being he could find and kill," and, "Because of the heroic actions of this Citibank security officer, vice president of operations, his reign of terror ended before it even began." Heroic actions, and a hero, are not the same word. Vice president of operations is inside that quotation. It is not a title Bay News 9 prints. Marine Corps veteran is FOX 13's description of Fraley. Bay News 9 does not print it. Fraley is not charged.
The debt account is not one quotation. Bay News 9 reported that at about 9 a.m. Wednesday, Pearson contacted an attorneys' office that is contracted by Citibank for collection, that he was angry about a summons over a $2,500 payment, and that Chronister said the man said, "unless you want me to go over there with my AR-15," to cancel the case. Attorneys' office, with the apostrophe after the s, is the spelling on that page. It reported the attorneys' office then contacted security at Citibank, that the Orlando Police Department went to Pearson's home to do a welfare check, that he was not there, and that Chronister said the suspect's wife has been cooperating with investigators. FOX 13 reported investigators said he drove from Orlando to the campus Wednesday morning after phoning in explicit death threats to a law firm handling collection proceedings for Citibank, and that he crashed his car through a courtyard security gate shortly after noon. Wednesday morning, in the lede, and shortly after noon, in the crash sentence, are both on that page. They are not the same clock. Shortly after noon, and just after noon, on Bay News 9, and the Wednesday timeline of 12:11 p.m., 12:12 p.m., and 12:15 p.m., are not the same printed clocks. It reported he immediately shot 41-year-old LeAnne Selman three times, that his firearm malfunctioned as she attempted to crawl away, and that, according to Chronister, he retrieved a handgun from his vehicle and executed her. Three times, a malfunction, a handgun, and executed are on FOX 13. They are not on the Bay News 9 page read here. Executed, and fatally shot, are not the same verb. Bay News 9's Thursday page says the car was the first tool he used before he fatally shot Leanne Selman. It does not print three shots or a second gun. FOX 13 reported he contacted an attorney's office after receiving a court summons regarding a $2,500 delinquent payment. An attorney's office, and an attorneys' office, and a law firm, are not the same words. A delinquent payment, in the body, and an unpaid $2,500 credit card balance, in the brief, are not the same description of the debt. A summons over a $2,500 payment, on Bay News 9, does not print the words credit card. FOX 13 printed a longer telephone warning than the Bay News 9 quotation. The longer warning includes a bulletproof vest, the word insanity, a stated drive of an hour and three minutes, and profanity. Those words are not in the Bay News 9 quotation. It reported the law office alerted Citibank's head of security, a retired Secret Service agent, who initiated emergency measures. It reported security requested a welfare check from the Orlando Police Department, that officers found he had already departed, and that his wife informed Orlando officers he left the house looking visibly angry without disclosing his destination. A retired Secret Service agent is on FOX 13. It is not on Bay News 9. Cooperating with investigators, and left looking visibly angry without disclosing his destination, are not the same sentence about his wife. The wife is not named here. The child is not named here.
The injured and the counts are not one number. Bay News 9 reported four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and that Chronister said some of those injuries likely happened while they were running away from the scene. It reported more than 360 officers were at the scene, working with more than 3,000 employees at the campus. FOX 13 reported medical workers treated and released four other people. It reported one worker suffered a cut lip, another sustained cuts and bruises from a fall, a third person experienced chest pains, and a pregnant worker went to the hospital as a precaution. Treated and released, and non-life-threatening injuries, are not the same disposition. A cut lip, a fall, chest pains, and a precautionary hospital trip, and injuries that likely happened while running, and Wednesday's account that investigators had not determined whether the injuries were from gunfire, the vehicle, or otherwise, are not the same cause. The pregnant worker is not named. FOX 13 reported 3,200 employees were present on site. 3,200, on Thursday's FOX 13 story, more than 3,000, on Thursday's Bay News 9 story, and roughly 3,200, on Wednesday's FOX 13 story, are not the same count. More than 360 officers, on Bay News 9's Thursday page, and 367 deputies, on Wednesday's briefing, are not the same count. FOX 13 reported detectives have not determined why Pearson singled out Selman or whether he had targeted specific individuals inside the building, and have not revealed how he obtained the firearms. It reported she was a resident of Palm Harbor, worked as a human resources learning advisor for Citi Security Investigative Services, and had served the company for nine years. Citi Security Investigative Services, and Citibank, are not the same name. Nine years is on both Thursday pages. The job title is on FOX 13. It is not on Bay News 9. Palm Harbor is on both. Bay News 9 reported it happened just after noon at the Citibank complex near Interstate 75 and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Brandon. FOX 13's dateline is Brandon. Its brief says the company's Tampa center. Tampa, and Brandon, are not the same place name. Pearson is dead. Fraley is not charged. A charge is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
FOX 13 Tampa Bay, by Nancy Gay and WTVT Web Staff, updated November 4, 2026, at 6:50 p.m. EST and published at 1:04 p.m. EST, reported an armed security guard shot and killed a gunman who drove onto the Citibank Center campus in Brandon on Wednesday, shot a woman outside, and then entered the cafeteria. It reported Chief Deputy Frank Losat said emergency calls began pouring in at 12:11 p.m. reporting gunfire, and that the first marked Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office unit reached the scene within one minute. It reported he said the driver plowed a small, four-door sedan over medians and grass before crashing through a secure fence line into an outdoor dining area. It reported investigators said the gunman stepped out of the wrecked car holding a rifle, walked up to a woman who was sitting outside eating lunch and shot her, then moved inside toward the cafeteria, where an armed security officer confronted him at 12:15 p.m., traded gunfire, and fatally wounded him. Within one minute, and a printed clock of 12:12 p.m., are not the same line. A secure fence line, and a security gate, are not the same barrier. It reported authorities have not released the names of the dead shooter or the woman he shot near the patio, and that it remains unclear whether they knew each other. It reported officials have not explained how four other people, hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, were hurt. It quoted Losat: "We stopped the threat. The security guard employed by Citibank stopped the threat. Was there potential for other violence? Absolutely," and, "Kudos to that security guard." It reported he said, "This is a sad day for everybody involved, the Tampa Bay Area and surrounding communities and law enforcement partners." A brief on the same page said more than 350 deputies secured six three-story buildings housing 3,200 employees. The body said 367 Hillsborough County sheriff's deputies, specialized SWAT teams, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue, and state and federal partners spent two and a half hours clearing six or seven three-story buildings. More than 350, and 367, are not the same count. Six, and six or seven, are not the same count. It reported roughly 3,200 Citibank workers were inside, and that paramedics took the wounded gunman to Tampa General Hospital, where medical staff pronounced him dead. It reported a memo from CitiBank Chair and CEO Jane Fraser, shared with FOX 13, said, "Earlier today, there was a shooting at our office in Tampa, Florida, and I am devastated to share that one of our colleagues has lost their life," and, "I am grateful to the brave actions of our security team who prevented this awful day from being even worse." CitiBank, in that sentence, and Citibank, in the dateline, are not the same spelling. Tampa, in the memo, and Brandon, in the dateline, are not the same place name.
Bay News 9, bylined Spectrum News Staff, updated 6:59 p.m. ET on November 4, 2026, and published 12:32 p.m. ET and 12:32 p.m. EST on the same block, reported Losat released a timeline at a news conference. It listed 12:11 p.m., 911 calls of shots fired; 12:12 p.m., the first marked law enforcement entered the building; and 12:15 p.m., armed security "engaged the suspect" in the cafeteria and shot the suspect, who died at Tampa General Hospital. The 12:12 p.m. line on that page does not print a colon after p.m. Entered the building at 12:12 p.m., and arrived within one minute of 12:11 p.m., are not the same sentence. Engaged the suspect and shot the suspect, and traded gunfire and fatally wounded the attacker, are not the same description of the exchange. It reported he said the suspect drove over medians and through a secured fence into an outdoor area where people were having lunch, got out of the vehicle with a rifle, and shot a woman, who died. It reported he didn't say if the suspect and the victim knew each other. Didn't say, and it remains unclear whether they knew each other, are not the same sentence. It reported 367 sheriff's office personnel responded and that 3,200 Citigroup employees were on the property. Citigroup employees, and Citibank workers, are not the same name. It quoted him: "Every inch of that building, every locked room was searched and secured," and, "It's a sad day for everyone involved." It's a sad day for everyone involved, and This is a sad day for everybody involved, the Tampa Bay Area and surrounding communities and law enforcement partners, are not the same quotation. It quoted, "We stopped the threat. The security guard that's employed by Citibank stopped the threat," and, "Was there potential for further violence? Absolutely. So kudos to that security guard and the people they employ." That's employed, and employed, are not the same words. Further violence, and other violence, are not the same words. And the people they employ is not in the FOX 13 quotation. It reported a kitchen worker said, "He drove past the gate," and, "He got out. He started shooting and we ran." Drove past the gate, and crashing through a secure fence line, are not the same path. The worker is not named. It reported the husband of an employee said his wife was in the cafeteria bathroom when the suspect, whose name has not been released, began shooting in that area. The wife is not named. The updated page says emergency personnel responded just after noon. An earlier version of this story, below, said deputies responded around 12:30 p.m. Just after noon, and around 12:30 p.m., are not the same clock. The 6:59 p.m. page read here does not print the four other injured people.
Tampa Bay 28, by Kiley Vaughan and Chad Mills, printed Posted and last updated with no clocks in the text retrieved. It reported a woman was killed and four other people were injured Wednesday after a gunman drove through a security gate at a Citibank corporate campus in Brandon and opened fire, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. A security gate, in that lede, and a secured fence, in the Losat sentence on the same page, are not the same barrier. It reported the gunman was shot and killed by an armed Citibank security guard during an exchange of gunfire and was later pronounced dead at Tampa General Hospital. It reported Losat said the suspect drove over several medians, crossed a grassy area, and drove through a secured fence before crashing into an outdoor seating area where employees were having lunch, then got out carrying a rifle, approached a woman, and fatally shot her. Several medians, and medians, are not the same word. Approached a woman, and walked up to a woman who was sitting outside eating lunch, are not the same posture. It reported an armed Citibank security guard confronted the gunman inside the cafeteria at approximately 12:15 p.m. and that both exchanged gunfire. Approximately 12:15 p.m., and 12:15 p.m., are not the same precision. It quoted Losat: "The security guard that's employed by Citibank stopped the threat," and, "Was there a potential for further violence? Absolutely. So, kudos to that security guard." A potential for further violence, with the comma before kudos, is Tampa Bay 28. Potential for further violence, without "a" and without the comma, is Bay News 9. Potential for other violence is FOX 13. It reported four other people were treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, and that as of Wednesday afternoon investigators had not determined whether they were injured by gunfire, the vehicle, or otherwise. Treated at a local hospital, and hospitalized, are not the same disposition. Had not determined whether gunfire, the vehicle, or otherwise, and have not explained how, are not the same sentence. It reported the first unit arrived at 12:12 p.m., one minute after the initial 911 calls, and entered the building. It reported 367 deputies responded, approximately 3,200 employees were on the property, and deputies spent approximately two and a half hours clearing six or seven three-story buildings, including locked rooms. It reported the station obtained video, shared by the spouse of an employee, showing the suspected gunman walking with a rifle, and that the station blurred his face. That frame was not used. The spouse is not named. It reported Sheriff Chad Chronister initially described the incident as targeted, and that when asked about that characterization at a later briefing Losat said investigators were still working through the details and had not established whether the suspect and the victim had a relationship. Had not established a relationship, and didn't say if they knew each other, and it remains unclear whether they knew each other, are not the same sentence. It reported investigators expect to interview witnesses well into the night and that crime scene processing could continue for several hours or into Thursday.
The Associated Press text on Bay News 9 is marked published 6:23 p.m. ET on November 4, 2026, and, on the same page, November 4, 2026, at 6:23 p.m. The apnews.com page did not load. In that Bay News 9 text, a gunman plowed a car into a courtyard on Citibank's sprawling Tampa business campus and opened fire with a rifle, killing a woman before a security guard fatally shot him. A courtyard, and an outdoor dining area, and an outdoor seating area, are not the same word. Tampa, in that dateline, and Brandon, Fla., in the photo caption on the same page, are not the same place name. It reported the sheriff's office did not give a motive or say whether the gunman and his lone victim knew each other. Did not say whether they knew each other, and had not established whether they had a relationship, are not the same sentence. It reported Losat said the suspect crashed his car among outdoor tables where people were eating lunch and then started shooting, that 3,200 people were on the campus at work, that the gunman fatally shot the woman before a security guard confronted him in a cafeteria, that the guard and the gunman exchanged fire, and that the guard killed him. It quoted Losat at a news conference: "Was there a potential for further violence? Absolutely," and, "So kudos to that security guard." That quotation does not include "We stopped the threat." It reported the names of the gunman and the woman were not immediately released. It reported four other people were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and that Losat didn't know whether any of them had been shot or struck by the gunman's vehicle. Didn't know, and had not determined, and have not explained how, are not the same sentence. It reported the campus includes four three-story office buildings. Four, and six or seven, are not the same count. It reported David Dzien, a Citibank vice president, said he was returning from lunch when he saw the shooter's sedan crash through a fence about 150 yards, which the page also printed as 137 meters, away, followed by an "incredible clatter" he later realized was gunfire, and that he said, "I can still hear the particular type of scream." It reported he said "VIPs" who don't normally work at the complex were present for a "quarterly review." It reported more than 360 deputies, many in tactical gear, began arriving within a minute of the first 911 call and spent 2 1/2 hours searching the building where the shootings occurred plus adjacent office buildings. More than 360, and 367, are not the same count. Two and a half hours, and 2 1/2 hours, are not the same typesetting. It reported Citigroup said it was "aware of an incident" and was cooperating with authorities. It reported Sheraton Tampa Brandon Hotel general manager Matt Chauvin estimated the hotel sheltered about 300 Citibank workers. The credit line says Bynum reported from Savannah, Georgia, and names Cybele Mayes-Osterman, R.J. Rico, and Claudia Lauer. It does not print Bynum's first name. The suspect and the woman are not named on FOX 13's 6:50 p.m. story, on Bay News 9's 6:59 p.m. story, on Tampa Bay 28, or in the Associated Press text read here.
FOX 13 Tampa Bay's live blog, with contributors Nancy Gay and Summerleigh Stones, carries a published time of 1:15 p.m. EST on November 4, 2026, and a modified time of 2:35 p.m. EST. At 1:28 p.m. EST Nancy Gay reported that Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said a suspect involved in an active threat at Citibank in Brandon had died, and that he believes this was a targeted incident. At 1:31 p.m. EST Summerleigh Stones reported that FOX 13's Kylie Jones spoke with the wife of an employee who works in catering, that the husband texted her about an active shooter and said people were hiding in a room with no locks, and that he texted about 10 minutes later that he was out and in the garage. That 1:31 p.m. post said the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office had yet to confirm there is or was an active shooter. The post printed the slash as "is/was". At 1:36 p.m. EST Nancy Gay reported that employees were asked to meet in the parking lot of the Sheraton at Queen Palm Drive and Princess Palm Avenue, and that families were asked to meet at Staybridge Suites Tampa East at Queen Palm Drive and North Falkenburg Road. At 1:44 p.m. EST she reported the sheriff's office confirmed that one victim was killed. At 1:52 p.m. EST Summerleigh Stones reported that Kylie Jones spoke with an employee named Douglas at a food court station, who said he was serving customers, saw people running, and ran out a back door into a garage. At 2:34 p.m. EST a post reported the husband told FOX 13 he had been wearing headphones and did not know what was happening until an officer came into the room. It quoted him, "All I know is that this police officer came in with a gun in the room with his badge, and I'm like, 'Whoa, I work here, man.'" It reported he said his next stop was heading home to hug his son. The son is not named. At 2:35 p.m. EST Nancy Gay reported the sheriff's office said over 350 deputies responded to an active threat at the Citibank Center in Brandon that left a suspect and a victim dead. A separate retrieval of the same live blog included a 3:07 p.m. EST post by Nancy Gay that said Chief Deputy Frank Losat gives an update on a situation that left a victim and a suspect dead. That post did not print his words. A later retrieval of the same URL did not include the Losat post. Nancy Gay's earlier article, published at 1:04 p.m. EST, said deputies rushed to the Citibank in Brandon, that the sheriff's office was clearing the building, and that drivers should stay away from Queen Palms Drive and Falkenburg Road until further notice. That 1:04 p.m. article said authorities had not confirmed whether anyone was hurt or whether any suspect had been detained. Queen Palms, in that article, and Queen Palm, in the 1:36 p.m. reunification post, are not the same street name. Had not confirmed whether anyone was hurt, at 1:04 p.m., and one victim killed, at 1:44 p.m., are not the same status.
Bay News 9, bylined Spectrum News Staff, shows a published time of 12:32 p.m. ET and, on the same line block, 12:32 p.m. EST, and an updated time of 3:04 p.m. ET on November 4, 2026. It reported emergency personnel responded Wednesday afternoon to a business complex near Interstate 75 and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard in Brandon after an active threat. It reported Sheriff Chad Chronister said via social media that a victim and a suspect were both dead after a targeted incident. Believes this was a targeted incident, on FOX 13 at 1:28 p.m., and were both dead after a targeted incident, on Bay News 9, are not the same sentence. It reported deputies responded around 12:30 p.m. and told people to avoid MLK and Falkenburg Road. It reported that, according to multiple reports, crews including a SWAT Team responded to the Citigroup complex near Interstate 75. Citigroup, and Citibank, are not the same name. It reported reporter Fallon Silcox spoke with a woman who was shaken and said people ran, and that several ambulances were pulling up just after 1:30 p.m. It reported Citi said, "We are aware of an incident impacting our site in Tampa, Florida and are coordinating with law enforcement." Tampa, in that statement, and Brandon, in the dateline, are not the same place name. It reported a reunification center for employees at Staybridge Suites Tampa East at Queen Palm Drive and North Falkenburg Road, and it printed the address 3624 North Falkenburg Road, Tampa, FL, 33619. FOX 13 put employees at the Sheraton and families at Staybridge, and it did not print a street number. Bay News 9 put employees at Staybridge and did not print the Sheraton. The page displayed a post it attributed to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office, timed 1:34 p.m.: "HCSO can confirm the suspect involved in the Citibank Active Threat scene is deceased. There is also one confirmed decased victim. We are currently clearing the building and will provide updates as they are availble." Decased and availble are the spellings on that displayed post. It also displayed a post it attributed to Chad Chronister: "UPDATE: Citibank Center Scene… The suspect involved is deceased." The 1:34 p.m. post confirms a victim. FOX 13's own victim post is timestamped 1:44 p.m. EST.
Fox News, by Louis Casiano, published November 4, 2026, at 1:35 p.m. EST and updated at 1:47 p.m. EST, reported law enforcement responded to a reported active shooter situation at a Tampa-area Citibank campus and that authorities later confirmed the suspect and one victim are dead. It placed the Citibank Center in Tampa's Sabal Park Office Development. It reported an emergency alert stated, "If you are in or near the area, SHELTER IN PLACE immediately. Stay indoors, lock doors, and stay away from windows." It reported Sheriff Chad Chronister said one person was taken into law enforcement custody, before saying the suspect was dead, and it quoted his post, "UPDATE: Citibank Center Scene… The suspect involved is deceased." Taken into custody, and deceased, are both in that paragraph. They are not the same status. FOX 13's 1:28 p.m. post and Bay News 9's account did not print a person taken into custody. It reported the sheriff's office later confirmed one victim was also dead, that authorities have not disclosed how the suspect and the victim died, and that it is unclear if there were additional injuries. Have not disclosed how they died, at 1:47 p.m., and a shooting, are not the same finding. It reported deputies were clearing a building, that nearby Hillsborough College encouraged students and staff to shelter in place, and that the FBI has responded. Hillsborough College and the FBI are not in the FOX 13 or Bay News 9 text read here. It reported the scene showed adults with children moving away from the campus, which has a daycare center, and it attributed that to affiliate FOX 13. The FOX 13 article and live-blog text retrieved here did not print a daycare or children leaving. It reported employees were asked to meet at the triage area in the parking lot of the Sheraton Tampa Brandon Hotel, and that families were instructed to meet at Staybridge Suites Tampa East. The Sheraton Tampa Brandon Hotel, and the Sheraton at Queen Palm Drive and Princess Palm Avenue, are not the same fullness of the name. It reported, from what it called the developer's website, that the campus has four 130,000-square-foot three-story office buildings and a 138,000-square-foot amenities building, roughly 25,000 employees, and dining, a gym, child care, a bank branch, and shops. It quoted that site: "The low-rise campus is surrounded by lushly landscaped berms with outdoor plazas, fountains, and waterfalls to provide a secluded, tranquil environment."
Patch, by Tiffany Razzano, posted Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at 2:12 p.m. ET, reported one person was killed and the suspect is dead following a Wednesday shooting at the Citibank Center in the Brandon area. It reported the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office confirmed in a social media post around 1:30 p.m. that the suspect in the active-shooter incident was dead and there was one confirmed victim. Around 1:30 p.m., and the 1:34 p.m. post Bay News 9 displayed, and FOX 13's 1:28 p.m. suspect post and 1:44 p.m. victim post, are not the same clock. It reported deputies responded to an active threat in the Sabal Park business area near Falkenburg Road shortly after noon, including SWAT, and that they were still clearing the building. It reported Chronister posted to X that preliminary details indicate the shooting was a targeted incident. Preliminary details indicate, and he believes, are not the same verb. It reported the identities of the victim and the suspect, and what may have prompted the violence, had not been released. It reported the campus includes four three-story office buildings and employs thousands of workers. Thousands, and roughly 25,000, are not the same number, and Patch did not print the square footage Fox News printed. It reported families can meet employees at Staybridge Suites Tampa East at 3624 N. Falkenburg Road in Tampa, and it said Chronister said that. It said the article includes reporting by The Associated Press. The Associated Press page did not load here, so that credit is Patch's and not a sentence read off the AP page. The FOX 13, Bay News 9, Fox News, and Patch pages read for the first version of this file did not name the suspect or the victim. They did not print a vehicle, a courtyard, or a weapon in the sheriff's account. A husband who said an officer came in with a gun is not a sheriff's account of a weapon used in the incident. Those pages are this paragraph. The Wednesday briefing pages are the paragraphs above this one. The Thursday identification is the paragraphs at the top. The pages read for the first version of this file did not name Pearson, the woman, or Fraley.
