Anderson County deputies took Corey Huff into custody after a Knoxville fatal stabbing.

WVLT, the Oak Ridger, and FOX17 reported that deputies captured Corey Joseph Huff, 41, on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, in the Heiskell area after a chase that began Monday night. Knoxville police say a man was stabbed to death Sunday outside the Kenjo on North Broadway. They have not named him.

A capture ends the search. It does not end the case. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation had listed Huff on a first-degree murder alert. WVLT reported after the arrest that specific charges had not been released. A most-wanted listing and a booking are not the same document, and neither one is a conviction.

WVLT, the Knoxville News Sentinel's Oak Ridger, and FOX17 reported that law enforcement captured Corey Joseph Huff, 41, on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026, in Anderson County after a search tied to a fatal stabbing in Knoxville. WVLT reported Knoxville police went to the Kenjo market on North Broadway after the stabbing early Sunday, and that police said Huff stabbed a man who later died. 3B Media reported the store address as 1704 N. Broadway. None of those accounts published the dead man's name. A name police have not given is not a name to supply. A death outside a convenience store is what police described. It is not a finding that Huff is the person who used the knife.

FOX17 reported the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation issued a Most Wanted alert naming Huff on a first-degree murder charge, describing him as armed and dangerous, and offering a reward of up to $2,500. WVLT reported Knoxville police spokesman Scott Erland said that shortly before 8 p.m. Monday, Huff was seen at a gas station on Norris Freeway, that an Anderson County deputy tried to stop him, and that Huff did not stop. Erland said the chase ended at Carden Gap Road, where Huff left a truck and ran into the woods. The U.S. Marshals Service and the TBI joined the search, WVLT and 3B Media reported. A chase and a wanted poster are how the search was run. They are not a trial.

The Oak Ridger reported Capt. Shain Vowell of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said about 11:15 a.m. Tuesday that Huff had been caught on foot on Hinds Creek at Rosenbalm Lane in the Heiskell community. WVLT reported he was spotted leaving woods near the 2700 block of Hines Creek Road and then surrendered, and it spelled the community Heisell. The road name and the community spelling do not match across those two accounts. The capture does. WVLT reported after the arrest that specific charges had not been released, even though the TBI alert had already described a first-degree murder charge. A most-wanted line and a department that has not posted a charging document are two different pieces of paper. Custody ends the manhunt. It does not decide the case. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
