Montgomery County charged six people in the Always Running Plays kidnapping and gun case.

6abc and NBC10 Philadelphia reported that Montgomery County prosecutors on Thursday charged Daquine Owens, 29, Ajahnae Owens, 31, Aysir Bond, 23, Najwa Owens, 46, Gregory Johnson, 25, and Keith Cirwithen-Howell, 29, in an alleged enterprise called Always Running Plays. The charges include corrupt organizations, kidnapping, robbery, and firearms trafficking. A preliminary hearing for the people in custody is set for Oct. 19.

A charging announcement is the district attorney's account of an investigation. It is not a preliminary hearing, and it is not a conviction. 6abc and NBC10 reported that all six are charged with corrupt-organizations offenses, that four of them are also charged with kidnapping and robbery, and that Aysir Bond is still wanted. Daquine Owens is in Montgomery County on $2 million cash bail. The June kidnapping they describe is one alleged job. The enterprise count says prosecutors think it was not the only one.

6abc reported that Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Lower Merion Superintendent of Police Andrew J. Block announced the charges Thursday against Daquine Owens, 29; Ajahnae Owens, 31; Aysir Bond, 23; Najwa Owens, 46; Gregory Johnson, 25; and Keith Cirwithen-Howell, 29. NBC10 Philadelphia reported the same six names and ages, and said the five Owens, Bond, and Johnson defendants are from Philadelphia and that Cirwithen-Howell is from Dover, Delaware. The Philadelphia Inquirer reported Ajahnae Owens is Daquine Owens's wife and Najwa Owens is his mother. Prosecutors say the group called itself ARP, for Always Running Plays. A name in a charging paper is what investigators say the group called its work. It is not proof the enterprise existed.

The case they announced first is a kidnapping on June 27, 2026, in the parking lot of a LongHorn Steakhouse in Bala Cynwyd. 6abc reported a man was lured there through an online communication by someone posing as a 17-year-old girl, and that three masked men in body armor, later identified as Daquine Owens, Bond, and Cirwithen-Howell, claimed to be law enforcement, handcuffed him, and forced him into a vehicle. NBC10 reported the same three approached him wearing body armor, said they were officers, put him in handcuffs, and forced him into a car. The Inquirer, citing the affidavit, reported they were carrying guns and wearing tactical vests, identified themselves as members of an "8th Precinct Special Task Force," and told the man they knew he was a pedophile and that he was under arrest. That is the affidavit's account of what the men allegedly said. It is not a finding that the man had committed any crime, and it is not a sex charge against anyone in this case. 6abc reported the men took his phone and wallet, moved money to accounts the organization controlled, and stole more than $54,000 before they drove him back to the parking lot and let him go. The Inquirer reported the total as more than $50,000, and that the affidavit says they stopped at Belmont Plateau, offered to keep quiet for money, and had him withdraw cash at a Wawa ATM and send transfers to accounts owned by Najwa Owens and another alleged member. NBC10 reported he was driven to other stops, that more money was taken through mobile banking and an in-store ATM, and that he reported it to Lower Merion police the next day. The dollar figures do not match to the dollar. Both accounts describe a robbery that started as a fake arrest.

Prosecutors say June was not the only alleged job. 6abc and NBC10 reported that detectives say ARP members carried out kidnappings, robberies, and extortion schemes dating to at least 2024, and that at least one other person was extorted for more than $100,000. The Inquirer reported the affidavit describes years of extortion of another person and says the money paid for vacations and other spending. 6abc and NBC10 also reported a separate incident in which a person was lured to a meeting about a supposed debt and one member wrapped a rope around that person's neck while others made threats with a gun. Those are allegations about other episodes. They are not separate convictions.

The gun counts are a second theory of the same enterprise. 6abc reported detectives say they found a straw-purchasing and firearms-trafficking operation centered on Daquine Owens, who cannot legally possess a gun under Pennsylvania or federal law because of prior felony convictions. Investigators allege Ajahnae Owens bought numerous firearms from 2021 through 2025, including handguns, rifles, and a Draco-style firearm, and that Daquine Owens later possessed many of them. 6abc reported a July 2 search of the Owens residence turned up seven firearms, ammunition, and magazines, and that five of those guns had been bought by Ajahnae Owens. NBC10 reported a straw purchase is a buy by someone who can legally purchase a gun, made for someone else, to hide who will actually have it. Both outlets reported that after Ajahnae Owens bought a Glock pistol and a Draco-style firearm in August 2025, Daquine Owens and Bond traveled to South Florida with those guns and that she did not go with them. 6abc reported detectives also allege robbery and extortion proceeds paid for firearms, trips to Florida and Cancun, luxury-car rentals, yacht charters, jewelry, watches, and designer clothes, and that messages they recovered had members boasting that victims' money paid for it. Spending that shows up on a phone is evidence prosecutors say they have. It is not a verdict that the money was stolen.

Custody is split. 6abc and NBC10 reported Daquine Owens and Ajahnae Owens were arrested in Delaware on Oct. 5, that Daquine Owens was extradited to Montgomery County on Oct. 7, and that Ajahnae Owens is still waiting to be extradited. 6abc reported he was arraigned with bail set at $2 million cash and remains in custody. Cirwithen-Howell surrendered on Oct. 5 and was held on $99,000 cash bail, 6abc reported. NBC10 reported Johnson and Najwa Owens were arrested Sept. 30, and that a warrant is out for Bond. 6abc reported Bond is still wanted. A preliminary hearing for the defendants in custody is scheduled for Oct. 19 before Magisterial District Judge Patrick O. Krouse, 6abc reported. All six are charged with corrupt-organizations offenses. Daquine Owens, Bond, Cirwithen-Howell, and Johnson also face kidnapping, robbery, and theft by extortion. Daquine Owens and Ajahnae Owens also face firearms-trafficking counts. Najwa Owens also faces receiving stolen property and criminal use of a communication facility. A hearing date holds a place on a calendar. It does not decide the charges. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
