Attempted murder in the second degree and fourth-degree weapon possession are the counts police announced. They are not a finding that Cruz Torres cut his coworker. WRGB is the station that labels those counts a Class B felony and a Class A misdemeanor. Fox News, WRGB, and WNYT all say he was held for an Oct. 10 arraignment in Saratoga Springs City Court. The woman has not been named.
Fox News published Adam Sabes's account on Monday, Oct. 12, at about 5:08 p.m. Eastern. WRGB and WNYT reported that dispatchers called police and firefighters at 8:13 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, after a vehicle struck Augie's To-Go at Lake Avenue and Forest Avenue in Saratoga Springs. Both stations reported that firefighters found the driver with a serious cut to her neck that did not look like a crash injury. WNYT reported she suffered life-threatening injuries. Fox News, citing Saratoga Springs police, reported officers found a "serious laceration" to her neck that appeared unrelated to the crash into the restaurant, and that the injuries were life-threatening. WRGB and WNYT reported she was taken by ambulance to Saratoga Hospital and later airlifted to Albany Medical Center. Fox News reported she was airlifted to a local hospital and did not name it.
The passenger is David Cruz Torres, 36, of Michoacán, Mexico. Fox News, WRGB, and WNYT reported he tried to leave and officers detained him. All three reported that he and the driver worked together in Saratoga Springs, that he asked her for a ride after their shift, and that police say he attacked her while she was driving, then used a knife on her throat. WRGB and WNYT reported she jumped from the car while it was still moving and yelled for help, and that people nearby came to her. Fox News reported the same jump and the call for help. WRGB and WNYT reported the motive is still unclear. The driver is not named in those stories.
WRGB reported Cruz Torres was charged with attempted murder in the second degree, a Class B felony, and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree, a Class A misdemeanor. WNYT reported the same two counts without the class labels. Fox News reported second-degree attempted murder and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. WRGB, WNYT, and Fox News reported he was being held pending arraignment on Oct. 10 in Saratoga Springs City Court. An arraignment date is the next court step those stories describe. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Prosecutors released courthouse video of Jack Gregory Henson II before a security officer shot him.
A released security video is the prosecutors' account of what the lobby camera recorded. It is not a finding that the officer's shots were justified, and it is not a charge against anyone. WSMV says the court security officer fired. NewsChannel 5 says that officer works with the Marshals Service and is not a deputy marshal. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is still on the case, and the motive is still unknown.

Scott County charged Emilio Vallejo Ortiz with second-degree murder after a man was found shot at Wilkie Park.
A second-degree murder charge is the accusation in the complaint those stations describe. FOX 9 puts Ortiz in the dead man's Ford Raptor at a Burnsville Menards on Oct. 3 and puts both phones near Wilkie Park afterward. CBS Minnesota describes that timeline without using his name. The gun had not been found as of the dates those stories cite, and the complaint, as FOX 9 reports it, does not say what led to the shooting.

An Irish court imposed a mandatory life sentence on Marcus O'Neill for Gillian Curran's murder.
A mandatory life sentence after a murder conviction is the judgment on that count. It is not a new trial. RTÉ and Ireland Live report the July jury rejected O'Neill's fall account. The Oct. 12 hearing is the sentence the law required once that verdict stood.
