Twelve aggravated-assault counts are accusations, not a conviction. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office said Monday, Sept. 28, 2026, that Pitts was charged with aggravated assault as a party to a crime and Bailey was charged with aggravated assault, each on 12 counts, after a shooting shortly after midnight on Sept. 27 at Carolyn Crayton Park. Both are held without bond at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. A no-bond hold is custody. It does not decide who fired.
USA TODAY reported that the shooting was called in shortly after midnight on Sept. 27 at a large gathering at Carolyn Crayton Park. Sheriff David Davis said one group was at a birthday party near the skatepark when a second group arrived across the street, the groups exchanged words, people brandished firearms, and both groups fired. Davis said the party was for a young woman turning 18. It had started at a short-term rental in Jones County, and the owner told people to leave after becoming concerned about activities there. The group later gathered at the park. Those are the sheriff's reported account of the scene. They are not a verdict.
Eleven people were identified first: four 18-year-old males, five 17-year-old males, and two 18-year-old females. A 19-year-old man later arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound authorities described as non-life-threatening, and investigators said he was shot in the same incident, bringing the total to 12. On Sept. 27, one 18-year-old male and one 17-year-old male were listed in critical but stable condition. The others were reported in stable condition. Those conditions are a medical snapshot from that day. They are not a finding of who shot whom.
Pitts, 20, and Bailey, 20, were questioned at the sheriff's criminal investigation division and then taken to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center. Pitts faces 12 counts of aggravated assault as a party to a crime. Bailey faces 12 counts of aggravated assault. Both are held without bond. Davis said investigators had not established what started the dispute and were still looking at possible motives. An open investigation and a stack of counts are process. Pitts and Bailey are presumed innocent.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.
WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.
The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.
A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
