Monday, and Wednesday, and Sunday, Nov. 1, and Wednesday, Nov. 4, are not the same custody line. Murder in the first degree, and charged for the shooting death, and faces a first-degree murder charge, and Murder in the First Degree, are not the same charge line. Located deceased, and located who had been shot, and found a man dead at the scene who had been shot, are not the same finding. Taken into custody, and arrested, and booked into the jail once he is released from the hospital, are not the same step. A charge is not a conviction.

KRDO, by Abby Smith, published November 6, 2026, at 10:15 a.m., with no zone on the byline, reported the El Paso County Coroner's Office has identified the victim of a shooting in the 400 block of North Union Boulevard on Oct. 31 as 40-year-old Brody McDowell. It reported that according to the Colorado Springs Police Department, they responded to the scene around 7 p.m. and located McDowell deceased, and that police arrested 27-year-old Davijo Velarde on the charge of murder in the first degree. It reported the case remains active. It does not print the day of the arrest. KOAA, by Max White, on a page that printed Posted and did not print a clock, reported that according to CSPD the victim is 40-year-old Brody McDowell of Colorado Springs and the suspect was identified as 27-year-old Davijo Velarde. It reported police responded around 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 in the 400 block of North Union Blvd., located McDowell who had been shot, and that on Monday Velarde was taken into custody. It reported police said this is the 12th homicide in the city this year, and that's down from 29 homicides at this time last year. The Gazette, by Gazette Staff, published November 6, 2026, at 10:34 a.m., with no zone, reported a news release from Colorado Springs police identified the man shot and killed on Halloween night on the city's east side. It reported Brody McDowell, 40, was identified by the El Paso County Coroner's Office as the victim in the Saturday evening shooting in the 400 block of North Union Boulevard, and that on Wednesday police arrested 27-year-old Davijo Velarde, who faces a first-degree murder charge, according to the Friday news release. It reported the shooting death was the 12th homicide in Colorado Springs this year, and that there were 29 homicides last year at this time. A Yahoo News page by Dara Korn, time-stamped Friday, November 6, 2026, at 12:49 p.m. EST, reported the El Paso County Coroner's Office identified the victim of a homicide on Halloween evening near the corner of North Union Boulevard and East Boulder Street, according to CSPD. It reported that at around 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, police responded to the 400 block of North Union Boulevard on reports of a shooting, and that when officers and the Colorado Springs Fire Department arrived they found a man dead at the scene who had been shot. It reported the Homicide Unit responded. It reported CSPD identified the suspect as 27-year-old Davijo Velarde on Sunday, Nov. 1, and obtained an arrest warrant for the charge of Murder in the First Degree, and that on Wednesday, Nov. 4, Velarde was taken into custody on the warrant. It reported that on Monday, Nov. 2, the coroner's office conducted an autopsy and identified him as 40-year-old Brody McDowell from Colorado Springs, that the coroner's office will determine the cause and manner of death, and that CSPD is investigating the case as a homicide. It reported this was the 12th homicide in Colorado Springs in 2026, and that at this time in 2025 there were 29. Located McDowell deceased, on KRDO, and located McDowell who had been shot, on KOAA, and found a man dead at the scene who had been shot, on the Yahoo page, and shot and killed, on the Gazette, are not the same finding. Monday, on KOAA, with no date, and Wednesday, on the Gazette, with no date, and Sunday, Nov. 1, for the warrant, and Wednesday, Nov. 4, for custody on the warrant, on the Yahoo page, are not the same calendar. Monday, Nov. 2, on the Yahoo page, is the autopsy, not the custody. Arrested, on KRDO and the Gazette, and taken into custody, on KOAA and the Yahoo page, are not the same word. On the charge of murder in the first degree, and charged for the shooting death, in the KRDO story below, and faces a first-degree murder charge, and Murder in the First Degree, are not the same charge line. KOAA identifies him as the suspect and does not print the charge name. Of Colorado Springs, on KOAA, and from Colorado Springs, on the Yahoo page, are not the same preposition. KRDO and the Gazette do not print his city. East Boulder Street, the fire department, and the Homicide Unit are the Yahoo page. The other three do not print them. The 12th homicide is KOAA, the Gazette, and the Yahoo page. KRDO's 10:15 a.m. story does not print it. Down from 29, and 29 last year at this time, and 29 at this time in 2025, are not the same sentence.

KRDO, by Abby Smith, published November 6, 2026, at 1:54 p.m. and updated that day at 1:58 p.m., with no zone, reported the El Paso County Sheriff's Office confirms that the man charged with first-degree murder in a deadly shooting on Halloween was the suspect involved in a police shooting on Wednesday near the Aviator Apartments. It reported CSPD confirmed that 27-year-old Davijo Velarde has been charged for the Oct. 31 shooting death of 40-year-old Brody McDowell in the 400 block of North Union Boulevard. Charged for is the verb on that page. It reported that according to law enforcement, an officer-involved shooting occurred while multiple agencies were investigating Velarde near the Aviator Apartments in the 1600 block of North Murray Boulevard. It reported that shortly after 2 p.m., officers say they followed Velarde's vehicle into the apartment complex parking lot, and that CSPD says officers approached the vehicle, identified themselves, and directed Velarde out of the car. It reported that according to police, Velarde fired at least one round at officers, striking the windshield of a police vehicle, and that CSPD officers and at least one El Paso County deputy returned fire, striking Velarde. It reported law enforcement confirmed he was taken into custody and that medical aid was provided immediately, and that he remains in the hospital in stable condition, says EPSO. It reported the El Paso County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into the officer-involved shooting, with assistance from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation, and that once released from the hospital he will be booked into the El Paso County Jail. It reported the officers and deputy involved have been placed on administrative leave, per agency policy, and that both investigations remain ongoing. Wednesday, in that shooting story, and Wednesday, Nov. 4, on the Yahoo page, are the same weekday only if both mean Nov. 4. KOAA's Monday is not that Wednesday. Shortly after 2 p.m. is KRDO. The other pages fetched here do not print that clock. The 1600 block of North Murray Boulevard, and the 400 block of North Union Boulevard, are not the same place. Fired at least one round, and striking the windshield of a police vehicle, are KRDO's account of what police say he did. They are not a conviction. Stable condition, and booked into the El Paso County Jail once released, are KRDO. The 10:15 a.m. KRDO story, KOAA, the Gazette, and the Yahoo page do not print the hospital, the jail, the deputy, or the administrative leave. Taken into custody on Wednesday, in the OIS story, and arrested, in the 10:15 a.m. story on the same site, and will be booked into the jail when released, are not the same step. Both investigations remain ongoing is KRDO. The case remains active is the 10:15 a.m. story. Ongoing, and active, are not the same word.

The pages name a charge. They do not print a plea, a lawyer for Velarde, or a court date. KRDO says he will be booked into the El Paso County Jail once he is released from the hospital. That sentence is not a booking that has already happened. The Gazette's photo caption says the McDowell picture is courtesy of the Brody McDowell family. KOAA's page-image filename includes photo-from-cspd-brody-mcdowell. KRDO's victim story credits Colorado Springs Police Department/McDowell family. Those are not a booking photograph of Velarde. The charge is what those pages describe. It is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count. Brookland-CUA Metro, and Brookland Metro, and Brookland-Catholic University Metro, are not the same station line. Snapchat messages, and a message, and an urgent message, are not the same account. Cash App, and cash app, and $300 with no app named, are not the same line. Judge Kravitz accepted the plea and found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed.
