The Wednesday filings list two murder counts and one person the outlets describe as dead. Neither story explains the second murder count. Thursday's News Tribune story is the arraignment, with bail set and no plea reported. It describes the murder charge in the singular. Wednesday's stories said two counts. KING5 says Guillen drove an Audi. The News Tribune's surveillance account says a black SUV. A fourth person booked Wednesday night is a boy the paper did not name.
The News Tribune and KING5 reported Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, that Pierce County charged three people in the Oct. 18 shooting in a downtown Tacoma parking garage. They are Davion Campos, 20, his brother Jose Campos, 18, and Davion Campos's wife, Alina Guillen, 19, both outlets reported. Each faces two counts of first-degree murder and nine counts of first-degree assault, the outlets reported. Both reported that Davion Campos also faces first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm, and that Jose Campos faces second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm. KING5 reported the charges were filed Wednesday. The News Tribune reported the three were scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Pierce County Superior Court. KING5 reported they were being held in the Pierce County Jail and were expected to appear Wednesday. Both outlets reported two murder counts. Both described one person who died. Neither explained the second murder count. Neither story reported that a plea had been entered.
The person who died was a 16-year-old. The News Tribune reported the Pierce County Medical Examiner's public portal lists the cause of death as a gunshot wound to the chest. KING5 reported a 16-year-old boy was shot in the chest and died at the scene, and did not publish his name. The News Tribune reported he died at about 2:25 a.m. in the parking garage at 923 Commerce St., Park Plaza North, and that officers were called at about 2:24 a.m. and found him on the fourth floor. KING5 reported officers responding around 2:24 a.m. found him on the fourth floor of that garage, began CPR, and that Tacoma Fire Department personnel took over before he died at the scene. KOMO reported Tuesday, Oct. 20, that police responded at 2:23 a.m. in the area of the Commerce Street Station and could not confirm whether the shooting happened inside the garage. Wednesday's court-record accounts in the News Tribune and KING5 place it inside Park Plaza North.
What those records say happened is the charging account. The News Tribune reported a friend told police the teen had received a text from a girl about a meet-up in the garage, and that a witness said she saw four men walk onto the fourth floor and fire, then saw a bullet hit him in the chest as he tried to get into a vehicle. KING5 reported a witness said he was trying to get into a car with a friend when he was shot, and that other witnesses described masked gunmen firing toward people in the garage. The News Tribune reported that witness said her right arm was grazed, and that 10 more witnesses said they had been shot at. The News Tribune reported Pierce Transit video showed a black SUV, then five people walking into the garage at 2:18 a.m. and leaving at about 2:22 a.m. KING5 reported surveillance showed five suspects entering shortly before the shooting and leaving together, that several carried guns as they walked away, and that police identified Guillen as the driver of the Audi SUV the group used. Those are the documents as each outlet described them.
The News Tribune reported one man in the footage had a sling and a cast on his right hand, and that an assault report from the previous night showed Jose Campos at a hospital about 3:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound to his right hand. It reported detectives matched a blue puffer jacket in the footage to a photo on Davion Campos's Facebook page, where he lists Guillen as his wife, and that a tip said the shooting was retaliation for Jose Campos being shot in that garage the night before. KING5 reported the tip was that the shooting followed Jose Campos being shot in the hand the previous day, that a suspect in the footage wore a soft cast and sling, and that detectives used social media photos to identify Davion Campos and Guillen. KING5 also reported investigators later found an Audi with a broken rear window at an address associated with Jose Campos, that he admitted being at the garage but told detectives he did not know who fired first, and that he showed them gunshot wounds to his abdomen and shin that he said he suffered at the garage. The News Tribune's account of his injury is the hand wound the night before. KING5 adds wounds he attributed to the garage itself. The News Tribune reported Jose Campos was arrested Monday, Oct. 19, in the 300 block of East Wright Street. KING5 reported he was arrested in Tacoma and that Davion Campos and Guillen were taken into custody in Yelm. KOMO reported Tuesday, before names were in its story, that one man was arrested in east Tacoma and the other man and the woman were arrested in Yelm, and that all three were booked for first-degree murder. An arrest and a charging document are the start of the case.
The News Tribune's Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, story is the arraignment Wednesday's story said was still ahead. It reported court commissioner Meagan Foley set bail at $5 million for Davion Campos and $5 million for Jose Campos, and at $1.5 million for Guillen, and ordered all three not to contact the teen's family. It reported Jose Campos was still wearing a cast and sling on his right hand at that hearing. It also reported a boy, a fourth suspect, was booked into Remann Hall at 8:57 p.m. Wednesday on suspicion of first-degree murder. The paper said it does not generally name suspects until they are formally charged, and that his age was not immediately available. He is not named here. KING5's Wednesday story did not report the bail or a fourth booking. Thursday's News Tribune account describes the three as facing first-degree murder and nine counts of first-degree assault. Wednesday's News Tribune and KING5 stories said two counts of first-degree murder and nine counts of first-degree assault. Thursday's story does not say a count was dismissed, and it does not report a plea. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff's officials named Edward Villa as the suspect after Katie Kinder, her son and her mother were found shot to death in Happy Valley.
Thursday's briefing names the three people and names Villa as the only suspect. The warrant was three counts of first-degree murder. He was found dead before an arrest. KPTV, citing Warrenton police, called it an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. An Oahu grand jury indicted Orion Satori on a second-degree murder charge in the Young Street stabbing of Kiril Stoimenov.
An indictment means a grand jury found enough to send the case forward. It is not a finding of guilt. Police have said Satori did the stabbing, according to Hawaii News Now. The next step is arraignment, where he will be asked to enter a plea. Second-degree murder in Hawaii carries a maximum of life with the possibility of parole, the station reported.
