Sixty years is the term those outlets say the court imposed after the jury's guilty verdict. Up to 65 years is what the prosecutor's office described as the top of the count, not a second sentence. In jail, on WNDU's subhead, and in prison, on ABC57 and WSBT, are not the same place. Strangled to death, on WSBT, and injuries consistent with strangulation and blunt force trauma, on WNDU, are not the same cause line.

WNDU, by WNDU Staff, published Nov. 5, 2026, at 12:05 p.m. EST, reported a St. Joseph County judge sentenced Delvaughn Moore to 60 years on November 5, 2026, for a murder that happened in 2024. The subhead says he will spend 60 years in jail, the prosecutor's office said. In jail, in that subhead, and the body's "sentenced Delvaughn Moore to 60 years," with no jail and no prison, are not the same place line, and they are on the same page. It reported a jury found him guilty of murdering Joyce Montague at Miami Hills Apartments. It reported the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office said Delvaughn could have received up to a 65 year sentence. Up to a 65 year sentence, with year singular and no hyphen, is the wording on that page. It reported Montague, 42, was found dead on October 22, 2024. It reported that according to court records her cause of death was ruled a homicide, with injuries consistent with strangulation and blunt force trauma. Court records, homicide, and blunt force trauma are on WNDU. The page does not print his age, a street, a welfare check, or that she was found under a bed.

ABC57, by Tim Wolak, posted Nov. 5, 2026, at 11:38 a.m. EST, reported the man convicted of murdering 42-year-old Joyce Montague at Miami Hills Apartments in 2024 was sentenced Thursday morning. Thursday morning, on ABC57, and 12:05 p.m. EST, on WNDU, are not the same half of the day. 11:38 a.m. EST is the post clock. It reported the St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office announced Delvaughn Moore will spend 60 years in prison for Murder. In prison, on ABC57, and in jail, on the WNDU subhead, are not the same word. Murder, with a capital M, is ABC57's word. It reported he could have received up to 65 years. Up to 65 years, on ABC57, and up to a 65 year sentence, on WNDU, are not the same phrase. It reported South Bend police were called to Miami Hills Apartments in the 3300 block of High Street for a welfare check on Oct. 22, 2024, for Montague, and that officers said they found her dead under her bed. The 3300 block of High Street, a welfare check, and under her bed are on ABC57. They are not on WNDU. ABC57 does not print a homicide ruling, strangulation, blunt force trauma, or his age.

WSBT, bylined WSBT 22 with no reporter name, dated Thursday, November 5, 2026, at 11:59 a.m., with no zone on that clock, reported a 27-year-old South Bend man will spend decades behind bars for the murder of a local woman, and that a judge sentenced Delvaughn Moore to 60 years in prison. Twenty-seven, and South Bend as his city, are on WSBT. They are not on the WNDU or ABC57 sentence stories. Decades behind bars, in the lede, and 60 years in prison, in the next sentence, are both on that page. It reported a jury found him guilty in the 2024 killing of Joyce Montague, who was found strangled to death in her Miami Hills apartment. Strangled to death, on WSBT, and injuries consistent with strangulation and blunt force trauma, on WNDU, are not the same cause line. Miami Hills apartment, singular, on WSBT, and Miami Hills Apartments, on WNDU and ABC57, are not the same name. It reported prosecutors say he could have faced up to 65 years for the conviction. Could have faced, on WSBT, and could have received, on WNDU and ABC57, are not the same verb. WSBT does not print her age, Oct. 22, a street, a bed, a welfare check, or a homicide ruling. The St. Joseph County Prosecutor's Office, in an Oct. 8, 2026, release under Prosecuting Attorney Kenneth P. Cotter, reported a jury convicted Delvaughn Moore, printed as 27-years-old, that afternoon in the October 22, 2024 murder of Joyce Montague. 27-years-old, with the hyphen the release prints, and 27-year-old, on WSBT, are not the same spelling. The release does not call him a South Bend man. It reported the four-day trial ended with the jury deliberating for about an hour, that sentencing was set for November 5, 2026, and that he faced up to 65 years in prison. Faced, on Oct. 8, is the release's word before the sentence. The four-day trial and about an hour are on that release. They are not on the Nov. 5 WNDU, ABC57, or WSBT stories. The release does not report the 60-year term. None of the four names the judge. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Trials

The Middle District of Georgia release says Judge Self sentenced Josue Serda to life in prison. FOX 5 Atlanta and WSB-TV say life without parole.

Life in prison, and life without parole, and there is no parole in the federal system, are not the same sentence. More than 50 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 50 kilograms, are not the same quantity. Three investigations, and one ring that seized more than 200 kilograms, are not the same case. A charge against Raul Perez-Mondragon is an allegation.

Roland Chatmon and three others pleaded guilty in the kidnapping of his uncle, Curtis Dixon.

A guilty plea is the conviction on the counts a defendant admits. It is not the prison term. FOX 2 and the New York Post say the four kidnapping defendants face a mandatory minimum of seven years and a maximum of life, with hearings in 2027. WXYZ reported that all five, including Kenneth Anderson, face that range. FOX 2, CBS Detroit, and the Post say Anderson was already sentenced to probation.

Trials

An Ottawa jury found Fsha Tekhle guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing of Brkti Berhe.

A first-degree murder verdict is the jury's finding on that count. CBC wrote that the conviction comes with automatic life sentences, plural, and no eligibility for parole for 25 years. The Ottawa Citizen described an automatic sentence of life without parole for 25 years. No eligibility for parole for 25 years, and life without parole for 25 years, are not the same words. Tekhle admitted causing the death and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
