Florence County charged De'Marea Roberson with murder in the Olanta shooting that killed Sasha Singletary.

Roberson, 18, was charged Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, with murder, attempted murder, and two weapons counts, WMBF and WPDE reported. Sasha Singletary, 40, of Lake City, was the passenger killed Oct. 10. A 17-year-old was charged with murder four days earlier. Roberson was awaiting a bond hearing.

Tuesday is a second arrest, not a finding about who fired. The sheriff's office says both people charged shot into a moving car. WMBF and WPDE do not use the same full name for the 18-year-old, and they do not use the same road name for the scene. WPDE said his bond hearing had not happened yet.

The Florence County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, charged De'Marea Roberson, 18, with murder, attempted murder, discharging a firearm into a vehicle, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, WMBF and WPDE reported. WPDE gave his name as De'Marea Key'Shawn Roberson. WMBF used De'Marea Roberson and said he is of Woods Bay Road. The charges are in the Oct. 10 shooting that killed Sasha Singletary, 40, of Lake City, who was a passenger in a car, and injured the driver, both stations reported. The driver's name has not been released. Singletary was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.

WMBF said the shooting was on Woods Bay State Park Road in the Olanta area. WPDE said investigators described shots fired into a moving car on Woods Bay Road. The sheriff's office alleges Roberson and another suspect fired multiple rounds into the car, WMBF and WPDE reported. That is the charging account. It has not been tested in court.

The other person charged is 17. WMBF identified him as Tracey Benjamin Jr., of Olanta, and said he was charged with murder on Oct. 16. WPDE identified him as Tracey Bernard Benjamin Jr. and reported he is held without bond at the Florence County Detention Center. WPDE reported Roberson was awaiting a bond hearing when the station published. WMBF reported the investigation is ongoing. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff's officials named Edward Villa as the suspect after Katie Kinder, her son and her mother were found shot to death in Happy Valley.

Thursday's briefing names the three people and names Villa as the only suspect. The warrant was three counts of first-degree murder. He was found dead before an arrest. KPTV, citing Warrenton police, called it an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. KGW reported Detective Matt Lysaght would not go past a gunshot deputies heard, a firearm in the room, and the fact that no officer fired. KPTV and OPB call the motel the South Jetty Inn. The Oregonian calls it the South Jetty Motel.

An Oahu grand jury indicted Orion Satori on a second-degree murder charge in the Young Street stabbing of Kiril Stoimenov.

An indictment means a grand jury found enough to send the case forward. It is not a finding of guilt. Police have said Satori did the stabbing, according to Hawaii News Now. The next step is arraignment, where he will be asked to enter a plea. Second-degree murder in Hawaii carries a maximum of life with the possibility of parole, the station reported.
