The Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office reported Judge Debra Dwyer sentenced Demari Brown to life, suspending all but 45 years.

The office's Nov. 2, 2026, release said the sentence also includes five years of supervised probation, after a guilty plea on May 19 to one count of first-degree murder in the death of Henry Krishawn Gilbert, 20. 7News reported the same life term and did not print a plea date. Bethesda Today, in the portion WTOP republished, dated the plea Sept. 1 and called the judge Debra Lynn Dwyer.

Suspending all but 45 years to serve, and life with all but 45 years suspended, are the sentence the release and 7News report. The release headline says 45-year. The 7News headline says 45 year. May 19 and Sept. 1 are not the same plea date. Jorden Hungerford's May jury verdicts are not Monday's order. His hearing is Friday, Nov. 6.

The Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office reported Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, that in the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, the Honorable Debra Dwyer sentenced Demari Brown, 21, of Montgomery Village, to life in prison, suspending all but 45 years to serve, and five years of supervised probation upon release. The release has no clock time. It names Lauren DeMarco, director of public affairs, as the media contact. It reported that on May 19, 2026, Brown entered a guilty plea to one count of first-degree murder for the death of 20-year-old Henry Krishawn Gilbert of Montgomery Village. It reported that on April 26, 2025, on Brookridge Court in Gaithersburg, Gilbert was found deceased inside a green Honda Civic that had struck a curb with the engine still running, and that he had been shot in the head, "execution style," while sitting in his vehicle. It reported that after an investigation by the Montgomery County Police Homicide Unit, Brown and co-defendant Jorden Hungerford, 20, were arrested. It reported the investigation determined Hungerford posed as a female friend of the victim via social media messages, luring him to the location by requesting to buy seventy dollars' worth of marijuana, and that the defendants then arrived at Brookridge Court, where they robbed and shot Gilbert. "They robbed and shot" is the release's account of both men. It is not a finding that names which of them fired. The release's own headline is "45-year Prison Sentence for Co-defendant in Gaithersburg Murder." A 45-year headline is not the life term, with all but 45 years suspended, in the first sentence.

7News, in a story by Alan Henney published Nov. 2, 2026, at 4:47 p.m. and updated at 4:51 p.m., reported the same Monday sentence. The page's datePublished is 2026-11-02T16:47:45.000-05:00 and its dateModified is 2026-11-02T16:51:18.000-05:00. The visible clocks do not print a zone. The story's summary line uses the name Demari Howard Brown and says he was sentenced to life in prison with all but 45 years suspended for his role in the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man lured to a purported marijuana sale, which it attributed to prosecutors. The body then says a Montgomery Village man was sentenced to life in prison with all but 45 years suspended for his role in the fatal shooting of a 20-year-old man lured to a drug sale. Marijuana, in the summary, and a drug sale, in the body, are not the same description. The headline on the story is "Montgomery Village man gets 45 year sentence for fatal shooting." Forty-five year, in that headline, and life with all but 45 years suspended, in the body, are not the same term. "Suspending all but 45 years to serve," in the state's attorney's release, and "with all but 45 years suspended," in the 7News body, are not the same verb. 7News reported Montgomery County Circuit Judge Debra Dwyer also ordered Demari Brown, 21, to serve five years of supervised probation upon release, according to the Montgomery County State's Attorney's Office, and that he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the death of Henry Krishawn Gilbert, of Montgomery Village. The body does not print Howard, does not print a plea date, and does not print "one count." It does not print "execution style." It reported Gilbert was found dead April 26, 2025, inside a green Honda Civic on Brookridge Court in the Gaithersburg area, that the car had struck a curb and the engine was still running, and that he had been shot in the head while sitting inside, which it attributed to prosecutors. Dead, and deceased, are not the same word. The Gaithersburg area, and Gaithersburg, are not the same place line. 7News reported investigators determined Hungerford posed as a female friend of Gilbert through social media messages and arranged to buy $70 worth of marijuana, according to prosecutors, and that Brown and Hungerford then robbed and shot Gilbert, which it attributed to the state's attorney's office. Through, and via, are not the same preposition. Seventy dollars, and $70, are the same amount in different type. 7News did not print Hungerford's age.

WTOP republished a Bethesda Today story by Jacqueline Kalil timed November 2, 2026, at 4:42 p.m., with no zone on that line, and then cut the article off. The portion on the WTOP page says a man who used the pretext of a marijuana purchase to rob and fatally shoot a 20-year-old man last year in Gaithersburg, according to prosecutors, was sentenced Monday to life in prison, with all but 45 years suspended. It names Demari Brown, 21, of Montgomery Village, Montgomery County Circuit Court Judge Debra Lynn Dwyer, the April 2025 fatal shooting of Henry Krishawn Gilbert, also of Montgomery Village, and five years of supervised probation. It reported he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder on Sept. 1, 2026. May 19, in the state's attorney's release, and Sept. 1, in that republished lead, are not the same plea date. April 26, 2025, and April 2025, are not the same date. Debra Dwyer, and Debra Lynn Dwyer, are not the same name on the page. The lead's "fatally shoot," attributed to prosecutors and written as his act, is not the state's attorney's "they robbed and shot." The republished portion calls Jorden Hungerford, 20, of Hyattsville, and says a Montgomery County Circuit Court jury convicted him in May of first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. In May, on that page, is not May 18. The state's attorney's release reported he was found guilty by a jury on May 18, 2026, on those four charges, that he faces the potential of life in prison plus an additional 60 years, and that a sentencing hearing is scheduled for Friday, November 6, 2026. 7News reported a jury convicted him on May 18 of the same four charges, that he is scheduled to be sentenced Friday, Nov. 6, and that prosecutors said he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison plus 60 years. Potential of life plus an additional 60, and a maximum of life plus 60, are not the same exposure line. Hyattsville is in the republished lead. The release and the 7News story do not print it. The WTOP page says the story continues. The rest of the Bethesda Today article was not used. 7News reported Assistant State's Attorneys Teresa Casafranca and Lauren Turner prosecuted the case. The release said they are prosecuting this case. Prosecuted, and are prosecuting, are not the same tense. Monday's life term is the sentence on the plea the release dated May 19. Hungerford's Nov. 6 date is a hearing. It is not this order.

The Middle District of Georgia release says Judge Self sentenced Josue Serda to life in prison. FOX 5 Atlanta and WSB-TV say life without parole.

Life in prison, and life without parole, and there is no parole in the federal system, are not the same sentence. More than 50 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 50 kilograms, are not the same quantity. Three investigations, and one ring that seized more than 200 kilograms, are not the same case. A charge against Raul Perez-Mondragon is an allegation.

Roland Chatmon and three others pleaded guilty in the kidnapping of his uncle, Curtis Dixon.

A guilty plea is the conviction on the counts a defendant admits. It is not the prison term. FOX 2 and the New York Post say the four kidnapping defendants face a mandatory minimum of seven years and a maximum of life, with hearings in 2027. WXYZ reported that all five, including Kenneth Anderson, face that range. FOX 2, CBS Detroit, and the Post say Anderson was already sentenced to probation.

Trials

An Ottawa jury found Fsha Tekhle guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing of Brkti Berhe.

A first-degree murder verdict is the jury's finding on that count. CBC wrote that the conviction comes with automatic life sentences, plural, and no eligibility for parole for 25 years. The Ottawa Citizen described an automatic sentence of life without parole for 25 years. No eligibility for parole for 25 years, and life without parole for 25 years, are not the same words. Tekhle admitted causing the death and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
