Greg Rickabaugh reported Nov. 1, 2026, that Donovan Crawford, 22, of Keysville, was arrested Friday and charged with murder in the Oct. 2 death of Christian White, 21, of Beech Island, and is held without bond. Murder, as the Nov. 1 story prints it, is the charge. It is not a conviction, and the story does not print a statute title, a motive, or a court date. Without bond is the custody the paper reports. It is not a sentence.

The Augusta Press, in a story by Greg Rickabaugh dated November 01, 2026, reported that Richmond County authorities arrested a suspect in the October killing of a 21-year-old man who was shot in the parking lot of the IGA on Deans Bridge Road. It reported Donovan Crawford, 22, of Keysville, was arrested Friday and charged with murder in connection with the Oct. 2 shooting death of Christian White, 21, of Beech Island. The date line is November 01, 2026. The story does not print October 30, and it does not print an arrest clock. Friday in that story, and Friday in the paper's Oct. 3 story, are not the same Friday. The Nov. 1 story reported he is being held in the Charles B. Webster Detention Center without bond, and that a motive for the killing is not clear. Charged with murder is the count on the page. The page does not print malice murder, felony murder, or a court date.

The scene is not one paragraph across the two stories. The Nov. 1 story reported deputies responded to reports of gunfire at approximately 12:02 a.m. Oct. 2 and found White seated in the driver's seat of a Hyundai Elantra in the parking lot. He had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to Richmond County Sheriff's Sgt. Walter McNeil. He was transported to Wellstar MCG Health with gunshot wounds to his upper torso and pronounced dead at 1:43 a.m., according to Coroner Mark Bowen. The Oct. 3 story, also by Rickabaugh and dated October 03, 2026, reported deputies responded at 12:02 a.m. Friday to shots being fired and found 21-year-old Christian White of Beech Island in the driver's seat of a vehicle. The victim was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to sheriff's Sgt. Walter McNeil. He was rushed to a Wellstar MCG Health and pronounced dead at 1:43 a.m. Friday, according to Coroner Mark Bowen. A vehicle, and a Hyundai Elantra, are not the same car. Reports of gunfire, and shots being fired, are not the same call. Approximately 12:02 a.m., and 12:02 a.m., are not the same time. Transported to Wellstar MCG Health, and rushed to a Wellstar MCG Health, are not the same sentence, and the Oct. 3 line prints the word a before the hospital name. Upper torso is on the Nov. 1 page. It is not on the Oct. 3 page. Richmond County Sheriff's Sgt. Walter McNeil, and sheriff's Sgt. Walter McNeil, are not the same title. The Oct. 3 story quoted McNeil, from a press release, that investigators were actively working to determine the circumstances. The Nov. 1 story does not print that quotation. The Nov. 1 story is the first of the two to name Crawford. The charge is what the paper reports. It is not a finding that he shot Christian White. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count.
