Davis faces sentencing Tuesday in the Tupac Shakur murder conviction.

News 3 Las Vegas reported Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, that Clark County District Court will sentence Duane "Keffe D" Davis on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. before Judge Carli Kierny. A jury convicted him in August of murder with a deadly weapon in the 1996 Las Vegas killing of Tupac Shakur. He waived jury sentencing, so the judge alone sets the term.

A sentencing date after a guilty verdict is the penalty hearing. It is not a new trial. News 3 Las Vegas reported Monday that Davis is due before Judge Carli Kierny on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, after an August conviction for murder with a deadly weapon in Shakur's death. Rolling Out and iHeartRadio reported he could face life and that District Attorney Steve Wolfson has said the minimum is 40 years. A minimum quoted before the hearing is not the sentence until the judge imposes one.

News 3 Las Vegas reported Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, that the Clark County District Court will sentence Duane Davis, also known as Keffe D, on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Regional Justice Center in downtown Las Vegas. The station reported Judge Carli Kierny will impose the term after a 12-person jury found him guilty of the murder of Tupac Shakur, who was 25 when he was shot in 1996. News 3 reported Davis is the only person charged in the killing. A sentencing calendar is process. It is not the punishment until it is announced.

Rolling Out, citing iHeartRadio with additional reporting from the BBC and DW, reported that jurors in August convicted Davis of one count of murder with a deadly weapon. Prosecutors did not claim he pulled the trigger. They argued he ordered the attack and supplied the gun used by his nephew, Orlando Anderson, who died in 1998 and was never charged. Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson has said Davis faces a minimum of 40 years, Rolling Out reported, and that prosecutors did not pursue additional gang-related penalties because of Davis's age. Those are the prosecution's announced range. They are not Tuesday's judgment.

News 3 Las Vegas reported prosecutors said Davis wanted to retaliate after a brawl involving Anderson at a Las Vegas casino, and that they relied on Davis's own accounts in police interviews, documentaries, a book, and podcasts. Wolfson said after the verdict, "The strength of our case was Mr. Davis, and all of the interviews and the book-writing and the podcasts and his mouth," News 3 reported. Defense attorney Michael Sanft argued at trial that no witness or independent physical evidence placed Davis in Las Vegas at the time of the shooting or in the suspect car, News 3 reported. After the verdict, Davis said he planned to appeal, News 3 and Rolling Out reported. An appeal notice is not a new trial.

Shakur was shot on Sept. 7, 1996, while riding near the Las Vegas Strip and died on Sept. 13, Rolling Out reported. Davis was arrested in September 2023 after a July search of a Henderson home connected to him, becoming the first person charged after nearly three decades, Rolling Out reported. Before trial he waived jury sentencing, News 3 reported, so the judge alone will set the prison term. News 3 also reported the court is again using a lottery for public seats and that overflow viewing will stream on a monitor. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Shaniya Lewis and Nayonna Griffin were charged after an alleged assault on an off-duty officer at a St. Louis County QuikTrip.

A charge is the accusation. First Alert 4's count title is second-degree assault. Yahoo News adds the words "of a special victim" and a street number the television story does not use. Both describe a $100,000 cash-only bond with no 10 percent option. Neither story names the officer.

A Shelby County jury convicted Edward Wurl of first-degree murder in Blake Rhea's killing.

A guilty verdict is the jury's finding on the counts it tried. Sentencing is still ahead in both accounts. FOX13, citing the district attorney, put the deliberation at eight minutes. Action News 5 put it at less than 10 minutes and placed the verdict on Saturday. Both outlets put the sentencing date on Nov. 13.

A Cowlitz County jury convicted Miller of second-degree murder in Schmitt's death.

A guilty verdict is the jury's finding. It is not the sentence. The Daily News reported Monday that Miller was convicted in the death of Dennis Eugene Schmitt. KOIN reported the counts as second-degree murder and unlawful disposal of human remains and put sentencing on Oct. 29. Until that hearing, the prison term is not set.
