The Marshals release is an arrest announcement. It names Paulino, the Honda, and the officer's leg injuries, and it stops there. News 12 said Monday that charges had not been released. The Post's source account, attempted murder of a police officer plus assault and driving counts, is what sources told that paper. Those two accounts sit side by side until a complaint is public.
The U.S. Marshals Service said Monday, Oct. 19, 2026, that Eduard Paulino, 31, was arrested in the Bronx without incident early that morning. The Southern District of New York and the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force made the arrest, the service said. News 12 and CBS New York spelled his first name Eduard, matching the Marshals release. The New York Post spelled it Eduardo.
The Marshals said the hit-and-run happened late Saturday evening, after officers responded to a large, rowdy gathering and a loud-music complaint near Garrison Avenue and Whittier Street in Hunts Point. News 12 put the time at about 7:20 p.m. and said officers answering the noise call met a large crowd. The Marshals and News 12 said a white Honda SUV struck an on-duty officer and left. The Post described the vehicle as a white Honda Pilot. The Marshals said Paulino allegedly accelerated away and that the officer suffered significant leg injuries and was taken to Lincoln Hospital. The Post said the officer was listed in stable condition at Lincoln Medical Center. The officer has not been named.
What he is charged with is where the accounts split. News 12 reported Monday that charges against Paulino had not yet been released. The Post, citing law enforcement sources, reported he was charged with attempted murder of a police officer, and also with assault, vehicular assault, reckless endangerment, reckless driving, and disorderly conduct. The Post also reported, citing those sources, that he had one previous arrest, for an assault last month. The Marshals release does not list charges or a prior arrest. A source account of a charge is what the Post was told. It is not a public complaint.
U.S. Marshal Ricky J. Patel said, "There is nowhere to hide in New York for individuals who choose violence against law enforcement," and, "We promised a swift and decisive capture, and through the combined, relentless efforts of the U.S. Marshals and our partners, we delivered." He added, "If you assault those who wear the shield to protect this city, the full weight of federal and local law enforcement will find you." All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sheriff's officials named Edward Villa as the suspect after Katie Kinder, her son and her mother were found shot to death in Happy Valley.
Thursday's briefing names the three people and names Villa as the only suspect. The warrant was three counts of first-degree murder. He was found dead before an arrest. KPTV, citing Warrenton police, called it an apparent self-inflicted gunshot. KGW reported Detective Matt Lysaght would not go past a gunshot deputies heard, a firearm in the room, and the fact that no officer fired. KPTV and OPB call the motel the South Jetty Inn. The Oregonian calls it the South Jetty Motel.

An Oahu grand jury indicted Orion Satori on a second-degree murder charge in the Young Street stabbing of Kiril Stoimenov.
An indictment means a grand jury found enough to send the case forward. It is not a finding of guilt. Police have said Satori did the stabbing, according to Hawaii News Now. The next step is arraignment, where he will be asked to enter a plea. Second-degree murder in Hawaii carries a maximum of life with the possibility of parole, the station reported.
