The arrest warrants describe two different roles. McClorin is accused of first-degree murder with a firearm. Duhart is accused of being an accessory. Prosecutors have until a Nov. 20 date to file formal charges, according to WPBF. Until then, these are warrant allegations, and an arrest is not a conviction.

Two people have been arrested about three and a half months after a deadly shooting in Belle Glade, Florida, WPBF reported, citing the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office identified Elijah McClorin III, 37, as the alleged shooter and Tomiah Duhart, 33, as the alleged getaway driver in the killing of Javarous McGee, the station reported. WPBF reported that the National Black Justice Collective listed the victim as Jayla McGee, a 19-year-old transgender woman.

WPBF reported detectives obtained arrest warrants charging McClorin with first-degree murder with a firearm and Duhart with accessory to first-degree murder with a firearm. The sheriff's office Tactical Unit found and arrested both on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, and both were taken to the Palm Beach County Jail, the station reported. At first appearances Friday, Oct. 23, in Belle Glade, bond was denied for both, and prosecutors are set to file charges on Nov. 20 at 8:30 a.m., according to WPBF. The station reported Duhart's $50,000 bond in an April 2025 domestic battery case was revoked. WPBF reported that, according to the sheriff's office, Duhart said in August that she and McClorin had been in a relationship for about a year.

The case stems from a shooting reported at 5:28 a.m. on July 5, 2026, in the 500 block of Southwest Avenue B in Belle Glade, WPBF reported. Deputies found the victim dead from apparent gunshot wounds near a building, the station reported. A witness told investigators that a group, including the victim, had been standing and talking near a red Camaro after Fourth of July festivities when a single gunshot was heard, according to WPBF. Surveillance video showed a person dressed in black running and getting into a dark gray Hyundai Elantra, the station reported.

WPBF reported that sheriff's office gang unit detectives received tips that the victim may have been a witness in a February 2026 death in Belle Glade connected to McClorin's family. The sheriff's office has not publicly laid out a motive beyond those tips, and neither defendant's response to the allegations has been reported. First-degree murder is the charge in the warrant against McClorin. It is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
