Action News 5 reported a Shelby County jury found Elita Bean guilty of manslaughter and reckless endangerment in her husband's 2024 shooting death.
Stuart Rucker's story, published Nov. 5, 2026, at 8:22 p.m. CST, does not print the husband's name. WREG's May 22, 2024, story spells him Terrance Bean. FOX13's story that day spells him Terrence Bean and, later on the same page, Terrance Bean. The 2026 story is the verdict. The 2024 stories are a second-degree murder charge.

Manslaughter and reckless endangerment are the counts Action News 5 named on Nov. 5. Second-degree murder is the count WREG, FOX13, and Action News 5 named in May 2024. No second outlet retrieved here reported the verdict. The couple's children are not named.
Action News 5, by Stuart Rucker, published Nov. 5, 2026, at 8:22 p.m. CST, with an updated line that printed a relative time and did not print a second clock, reported a Shelby County jury convicted a woman on a manslaughter charge, among others, in the 2024 shooting death of her husband. The next sentence says Elita Bean has been found guilty of manslaughter and reckless endangerment in the death of her husband. Among others, in the first sentence, and those two counts, in the next, are not the same list unless reckless endangerment is the other charge. The story does not print a third count. It does not print the husband's name, an age, a sentencing date, or the word voluntary in front of manslaughter. It reported the case started with an argument over keys that escalated into a deadly shooting. It reported the Shelby County District Attorney's Office said the couple's children witnessed the incident and made the 911 calls, which the jury heard. It reported prosecutors presented testimony from at least four witnesses, including the victim's mother, the reporting officer, and crime scene personnel. The mother is not named here. The children are not named here. That is the verdict story retrieved here. A search for a second outlet reporting the verdict did not turn up a WREG, FOX13, Commercial Appeal, or Daily Memphian story on the finding. The 2024 stories below are the arrest. They are not a second report of the verdict.
WREG, by Melissa Moon and Brian Didlake, posted May 22, 2024, at 4:04 p.m. CDT and updated May 23, 2024, at 12:09 p.m. CDT, reported a husband and wife were fighting over keys before the wife shot and killed her husband in their Frayser home late Tuesday night. It spells him Terrance Bean. It reported officers arrived at the 3300 block of Ardmore, that juveniles standing outside told them their mother had shot their father, and that he was found dead on the kitchen floor with three spent shell casings nearby. It reported Elita Bean, 44, was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder. FOX13, dated May 22, 2024, with no byline clock beyond that date, reported a woman was facing a murder charge after a deadly shooting in Frayser, and that a little after 10 p.m. Tuesday Memphis police went to a shooting on Ardmore Street. It spells the man Terrence Bean in the sentence that says he was lying on the ground, shot to death, and Terrance Bean later on the same page. Terrence, and Terrance, are not the same spelling. Ardmore Street, on FOX13, and the 3300 block of Ardmore, on WREG, are not the same place line. A little after 10 p.m., on FOX13, and late Tuesday night, on WREG, are not the same clock. Action News 5, by Joel Moore, published May 22, 2024, at 4:29 p.m. CDT and updated at 6:18 p.m. CDT, reported officers responded May 21 to a shooting call from a home on Ardmore Street, that 44-year-old Elita Bean was taken into custody, and that she was facing a second-degree murder charge. That 2024 story does not print the husband's name, Frayser, the 3300 block, or 10 p.m. Age 44 is on the 2024 WREG story and on the 2024 Action News 5 story. It is not on the Nov. 5 verdict story. Tuesday night, May 21, 2024, is the night those arrest stories describe. The Nov. 5 story says 2024 and does not print May 21.
What she is convicted of, and what she was charged with, are not the same count. Second-degree murder is the charge on the May 2024 WREG story, the May 2024 FOX13 story, and the May 2024 Action News 5 story. Manslaughter and reckless endangerment are the counts the Nov. 5 Action News 5 story says the jury found. The verdict story does not say the jury acquitted her of murder, and it does not say manslaughter was a lesser count on the same indictment. The 2024 stories do not describe a verdict. A charge from May 2024 is the accusation those pages reported. The Nov. 5 story is the finding it reported, and it is the only verdict account retrieved here. The children are not named. The victim's mother is not named. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

The Middle District of Georgia release says Judge Self sentenced Josue Serda to life in prison. FOX 5 Atlanta and WSB-TV say life without parole.
Life in prison, and life without parole, and there is no parole in the federal system, are not the same sentence. More than 50 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 50 kilograms, are not the same quantity. Three investigations, and one ring that seized more than 200 kilograms, are not the same case. A charge against Raul Perez-Mondragon is an allegation.

Roland Chatmon and three others pleaded guilty in the kidnapping of his uncle, Curtis Dixon.
A guilty plea is the conviction on the counts a defendant admits. It is not the prison term. FOX 2 and the New York Post say the four kidnapping defendants face a mandatory minimum of seven years and a maximum of life, with hearings in 2027. WXYZ reported that all five, including Kenneth Anderson, face that range. FOX 2, CBS Detroit, and the Post say Anderson was already sentenced to probation.

An Ottawa jury found Fsha Tekhle guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing of Brkti Berhe.
A first-degree murder verdict is the jury's finding on that count. CBC wrote that the conviction comes with automatic life sentences, plural, and no eligibility for parole for 25 years. The Ottawa Citizen described an automatic sentence of life without parole for 25 years. No eligibility for parole for 25 years, and life without parole for 25 years, are not the same words. Tekhle admitted causing the death and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
