Will be charged, on WSB-TV at 6:23 p.m., and booked, on FOX 5 Atlanta at 4:22 p.m., are not the same step. Emanuel and Emmanuel are not the same spelling. A warrant's description of injuries is not the medical examiner's cause of death. FOX 5 reported that cause has not been released.
FOX 5 Atlanta, by the FOX 5 Atlanta Digital Team, published November 3, 2026, at 4:22 p.m. EST, reported Atlanta police arrested a 39-year-old man on murder charges after hotel staff discovered a woman dead inside a Midtown luxury hotel room in mid-October. The same story reported officers were called to the Loews Atlanta Hotel at 1065 Peachtree St NE on Oct. 14, that staff directed them to room 2519, and that responding officers found an adult woman dead. Staff discovered her, in the opening, and officers found her after staff directed them to the room, in the body, are both on that page. Mid-October, in the opening, and Oct. 14, in the body, are that story's two clocks. It reported that after an eight-day investigation detectives identified Emanuel Poindexter, obtained arrest warrants on Oct. 22, and that the Atlanta Police Department Fugitive Unit booked him into the Fulton County Jail on charges of murder and aggravated battery once doctors cleared him from a self-inflicted knife wound in Gwinnett County. Emanuel, with one m, is the spelling on that page. It appears once. WSB-TV, by Courtney Martinez and Michael Seiden, published November 3, 2026, at 6:23 p.m. EST, spelled the name Emmanuel Poindexter. It reported investigators announced Tuesday that they issued arrest warrants, that they found him in Gwinnett County being treated for a self-inflicted knife wound, and that police say he will be taken to Fulton County, where he will be charged with murder and aggravated battery. Booked, at 4:22 p.m., and will be charged, at 6:23 p.m., are not the same step. The later of those two clocks is the one that still uses the future tense. The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, by Caroline Silva, did not print an absolute clock. When the page was fetched on Nov. 4, 2026, it said 18 hours ago. It reported he was booked Monday into the Fulton County Jail. The subheadline said on a charge of murder. A later sentence said on charges of murder and aggravated battery, and it attributed that list to police. A charge, in the subheadline, and charges, in that sentence, are not the same count. Atlanta News First, by Atlanta News First staff, published Nov. 3, 2026, at 1:52 p.m. EST. When the page was fetched, the update line said 1 hour ago and did not print an absolute modified clock. It reported he was booked on murder and aggravated battery on Monday, and that jail records show that. Monday, in the Journal-Constitution and on Atlanta News First, and a 6:23 p.m. story that still says he will be charged, are not the same status. Age 39 is FOX 5's. The other three pages fetched here do not print his age.
FOX 5 reported authorities have not released the victim's name, and that the medical examiner's office has not revealed the specific cause of death. It reported the Fulton County Medical Examiner ruled the death a homicide on Oct. 15, and that police confirmed the case will be closed by arrest. WSB-TV reported family identified the woman as Melissa Tibbetts. Its subheadline spells a possessive, "Melissa Tibbett's," without the second s. Tibbett's, in that subheadline, and Tibbetts, in the body, are not the same spelling. Atlanta News First reported the medical examiner identified her as 45-year-old Melissa Tibbetts. The Journal-Constitution also printed Melissa Tibbetts, 45, and reported she was found dead Oct. 14 at the Loews Atlanta Hotel on Peachtree Street. Family, on WSB-TV, the medical examiner, on Atlanta News First, and a name FOX 5 says authorities have not released, are three accounts of whose page the name is on. FOX 5 printed 1065 Peachtree St NE and room 2519. Atlanta News First printed 1065 Peachtree St. NE and did not print the room. The Journal-Constitution printed Peachtree Street and did not print the number or the room. WSB-TV printed neither the number nor the room.
The Journal-Constitution reported arrest warrants it obtained Tuesday accuse Emmanuel Poindexter of breaking Melissa Tibbetts' hyoid bone, which is in the neck, and striking her several times, "resulting in her death." Atlanta News First reported the warrants accuse him of beating her and breaking her hyoid bone. Beating, on Atlanta News First, and striking her several times, in the Journal-Constitution, are not the same verb. FOX 5 reported the medical examiner has not revealed the specific cause of death. A warrant's account of a broken bone, and an examiner who has not released a cause, are not the same finding. WSB-TV reported an incident report said investigators saw no obvious signs of foul play and initially suspected alcohol intoxication, and that the medical examiner ruled the death a homicide on Oct. 15. No obvious signs, in that incident report, and a homicide ruling the next day, are both in the WSB-TV story. FOX 5 also printed the Oct. 15 homicide ruling. The Journal-Constitution text that could be read did not. WSB-TV reported she had been in Atlanta for a conference linked to ACM Chemistries, that an HR director reported she said she did not feel well the night before and later said she was feeling better, that hotel security was contacted when she did not appear for a meeting the next morning, that a warrant said investigators found multiple drink containers, that hotel records said food was ordered for two people, that investigators said they did not know if someone else had been in the room, and that there were no surveillance cameras in the hallway and other cameras in the hotel were down. Those scene details are WSB-TV's. They are not in the FOX 5, Journal-Constitution, or Atlanta News First text fetched here. No page fetched here reported a plea or a trial date. The booking and the warrants are charges. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
