A stacked attempted-murder, attempted-sexual-assault, armed-robbery, and burglary file, plus a recorded 911 narrative, are accusations and investigation claims. A non-lethal-force arrest and a hospital evaluation are custody and medical process. A $1 million cash-only bond is not a conviction. Prior convictions and probation are background. They are not proof of this case. Errick Jamell Cooks, 43, a California man already on probation for a 2024 drug conviction, was booked into the Maricopa County jail after a Sept. 14, 2026 morning incident near 12th and 13th Street and Mission Lane in Phoenix. A court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 22, 2026.

Police and court documents, as cited by FOX 10, say Cooks met an adult woman he had known about four months at her residence around 9 a.m. and that the conversation turned violent. The reported claims include explicit threats to rape and to kill, and that he punched, choked, and kicked her. She dialed 911 around 10 a.m. and left the line open. He allegedly retrieved a.22 from his car trunk, fired three times, shot her in the leg, and pistol-whipped her. She locked herself inside. He allegedly smashed a front window with a concrete block, entered looking for her, yelled "You ready to die?" and "This is how you do burglaries," and complained the gun was stalling. Those lines are what reporting says was audible on the 911 call. They are investigation claims. They are not trial findings. Attempted sexual assault is one charging caption among others in the stack against an adult complainant. It is not a finding.

Officers arrived around 10:15 a.m. and, after he refused commands, used rubber bullets and pepper balls to take him into custody. She had a gunshot wound to the leg and severe facial injuries. Recovered items, as reported, include a.22 pistol, casings, her gold necklace on his person, and a baggie of suspected cocaine or meth. He was evaluated at a hospital for a drug-related medical episode, then booked. Suspected drugs are a search claim. A hospital evaluation is medical process. He allegedly said he blacked out and remembered nothing. A blackout claim is his account, as alleged. It is not a defense the court has accepted. Reporting says he previously served time in California on an attempted voluntary manslaughter case. That history, and the 2024 drug probation, are background. They do not prove attempted murder, robbery, burglary, or any other count in this Phoenix file. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
