A Grayson County judge sentenced George Greer to 35 years for the samurai-sword killing of Teresa Boles.

WHAS11, WBKO and K105 reported the sentence was imposed Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, after a guilty plea to murder, two counts of attempted murder and theft. Teresa Boles, 59, was killed Feb. 5, 2024, in Falls of Rough. The outlets do not agree on his age, on the injured woman's first name, or on how 35 years is built.

Tuesday is the sentence on a plea he already entered, in two of the three accounts. WHAS11 says he is 51 and that the judge gave 20 years for murder, 15 for each attempted murder and five for theft, served concurrently, and still calls the total 35. A concurrent group is controlled by the longest term. K105 says he is 50, says the sentences were structured to total 35, and dates the guilty plea itself to Tuesday. WBKO dates the plea to July 7 and does not publish the split or his age.

A Grayson County judge on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026, sentenced George Greer to 35 years in prison for a February 2024 samurai-sword attack that killed Teresa Boles, 59, WHAS11, WBKO and K105 reported. None of them named the judge. WHAS11 reported he is 51, that he pleaded guilty in July to murder, two counts of attempted murder and theft by unlawful taking, and that on Tuesday the judge gave him 20 years for murder, 15 years on each attempted-murder count and five years for the theft, and ordered the sentence served concurrently for a total of 35 years. WBKO reported the plea was July 7, to murder, two counts of attempted murder and theft by unlawful taking of more than $1,000 and less than $10,000, and that he was sentenced Tuesday to a total of 35 years. WBKO did not publish the 20, 15 and five split, and it did not say the terms run at the same time. K105 reported he is 50 and quoted Kentucky State Police Post 4 spokesman Bryan Washer, whom the station called the chief investigator, saying the sentences "were structured to result in a total sentence of 35 years" in the custody of the Kentucky Department of Corrections. K105 also wrote that he pled guilty on Tuesday. WHAS11 and WBKO put the guilty plea in July and the sentence on Tuesday. The number WHAS11 prints, if every term really runs together, is a 20-year sentence, because 20 is the longest count it lists. K105's "structured to" line does not say the counts run together. WBKO states the total and not the parts. Tuesday is the day those outlets say the judge imposed a term. They do not describe the same term.

The attack was Feb. 5, 2024, at a home on Indian Ridge Road in Falls of Rough, WBKO and K105 reported. WHAS11 reported Kentucky State Police arrested him that day after he used a samurai sword to kill Teresa Boles, that two other people were severely injured, and that an arrest citation said he admitted being under the influence of drugs. WBKO reported the citation it had obtained said he told police he assaulted Teresa Boles and Joseph Boles, 60, with a samurai sword, that she was killed, that Joseph Boles suffered life-threatening injuries, and that Greer's girlfriend, Lauren Tabor, was treated for injuries. K105 spells the girlfriend Laura Tabor, says she is 34, and says she and her father, Joseph Boles, 60, were seriously injured. K105 also calls her Greer's girlfriend's mother the woman who was killed, which is Teresa Boles. WHAS11 does not name either injured person. K105 reported the citation says he "admitted being under the influence of drugs and admitted to killing one female and assaulting another female and a male with a samurai sword." K105, citing a source familiar with the investigation rather than the citation, reported the assault started when he and Tabor argued and her parents stepped in. That is one station's source. It is not in the citation language the station quoted.

The flight is longer in K105 than in WHAS11. WHAS11 reported he stole a car, fled, and was arrested after the car got stuck in mud at a nearby farm. K105 quoted the citation putting the attack at about 7:15 a.m. and the arrest at 1:28 p.m. It reported he took a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country from the house, broke into another residence and stole clothing, crashed one vehicle on farm property on Hollow Church Road, then stole a Chevrolet Impala on Amy Way in Short Creek. It reported Grayson County Jailer Jason Woosley spotted him on Owensboro Road and the Impala got stuck in mud on Edwards Cemetery Road, that he ran, and that he was caught. WBKO does not describe the chase. K105 listed the agencies in the search, including the Grayson County Sheriff's Office, Constable Mark Stanton as the first officer there, Leitchfield and Clarkson police, Kentucky State Police and its aircraft unit, Kentucky Fish & Wildlife, and the Breckinridge, Ohio and Edmonson county sheriff's offices. Those names are in K105's account of the citation and the search. WHAS11 does not list them.

WBKO reported that before the July 7 plea he had pleaded not guilty to murder, two counts of attempted murder, first-degree burglary, theft, two counts of first-degree fleeing or evading police, and being a second-degree persistent felony offender, and that on July 7 the burglary count, both fleeing counts and the persistent-felony-offender count were dismissed without prejudice. WHAS11 and K105 do not report those dismissals. WHAS11 quoted Washer: "While today's sentence cannot change what happened or bring Teresa Boles back, it holds Greer accountable for his actions and provides a measure of closure for the victims and their families." The guilty plea is what he entered in July, in the WHAS11 and WBKO accounts. The 35-year figure is what all three say the court imposed Tuesday, and they do not agree on the arithmetic. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Isaac Apodaca adjusts his tie in a Santa Fe courtroom
Trials

By Crime Talk Network Staff Writer

A Santa Fe judge sentenced Isaac Apodaca to life in prison plus 15 years in the sword killing of Grace Jennings.

The term The New Mexican reported from Thursday's hearing is life plus 15 years, consecutive, with the 15-year sentence served first. That is the judgment the paper says Judge Ellington imposed. KOAT's July 15 story still had the hearing on Aug. 24 and described the exposure as up to life. Kiara McCulley's 30-year figure is not in the same tense in every account: KOAT said in July that she is serving it, and The New Mexican said Thursday that she is expected to receive it.

A Fort Wayne jury found Domonique Drew guilty of murder in the gas station shooting of Scott Reed Armstrong.

Thursday's verdict is the jury's finding on the murder count and the firearm enhancement. The sentence has not been imposed. The surveillance video, the witness identification and the apology letter described in court records are the prosecution's account that the jury accepted. Drew's statement to police that the victim spat on him is his account. The jury did not credit it as a defense to murder.

Kevin Jaimes Martinez was convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life in a Knoxville laundromat shooting.

The conviction and life term came the same day, according to the district attorney. Under Tennessee law, a life sentence means 51 years before parole eligibility, WBIR reported. The stolen-phone motive is the prosecution's account of why the shooting happened. WBIR's report did not name the man who was killed.
