Saturday's booking is three months after the crash. Police say a driver going the wrong way hit a man standing by a stopped car and left. They have not named the man who died. WHAS11 and The Courier-Journal do not agree on the defendant's age. The charges are what he was booked on. A charge is not a conviction.

Louisville Metro Police arrested Gerson Alvarado Arrivillaga on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2026, in a fatal hit-and-run near Fern Creek, The Courier-Journal and WAVE reported. The Courier-Journal, citing department spokesperson Christopher Baker, reported he was charged with murder, leaving the scene of an accident, and four counts of first-degree wanton endangerment. WHAS11 and WLKY reported the same counts. WAVE reported the wanton-endangerment counts without the words first-degree. WHAS11 reported he is 26. WLKY, WAVE and The Courier-Journal reported he is 27.

WHAS11 and WAVE reported officers were called around 1:30 a.m. on July 5 to Bardstown Road near South Watterson Trail. An unoccupied vehicle had been left in the left lane after an earlier crash, both outlets reported. WHAS11 and WAVE reported the man police believed had been driving that vehicle was standing near a concrete median when another vehicle, traveling southbound in the northbound lanes, struck him, and that driver fled. WLKY reported a pedestrian and the suspected driver of the stopped vehicle were standing near the median when a vehicle traveling the wrong way hit the pedestrian. The man who was hit, an adult, was taken to UofL Hospital and died, WLKY, WHAS11 and WAVE reported. None of those outlets named him.

WHAS11 reported the department's Traffic Unit kept working the crash until Saturday's arrest, and that police called the account preliminary and subject to change. WLKY also credited the Traffic Unit. No bond figure, court date, or statement from Alvarado Arrivillaga was included in those reports.

The murder count and the other charges are accusations, not findings. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Sacramento sheriff's deputies booked Wendell Celestine on a murder charge after a woman was found dead on El Paraiso Avenue.

What the stations have is a dead woman, a house with broken glass and damaged furniture, and a murder booking. They have not named her, and they have not said how she died. ABC10 described her as his girlfriend. CBS Sacramento reported officials said the two had divorced and later resumed the relationship. A charge is not a conviction.

Lemont police charged Andrew Malak with animal cruelty and felony weapons counts after a firearms search turned up 76 dogs in his home.

The case began as a gun case, not an animal case. ABC7 Chicago reported Malak's FOID card had been revoked, and the warrant was about firearms. The dogs are what officers found when they got there. Malak told FOX 32 the dogs were part of a nonprofit rescue and were fed and watered. Monday's court date in Bridgeview is the first chance for the charges to be tested. A charge is not a conviction.

A Winter Springs officer resigned after Kevin Finley's Tesla camera video led a judge to acquit him in a 2024 traffic arrest at gunpoint.

The video did what the paperwork could not. The police report said Finley's car lost traction and fishtailed; the Tesla footage, WESH 2 reported, showed it did not. Finley told WESH 2 he offered that video the day after his arrest. The chief has now apologized. A resignation ends the internal case, but Finley's planned lawsuit means the question of what the department knew, and when, is not finished.
