A coroner responding for a double homicide investigation means two deaths are being investigated as homicides. It does not name who died, and it does not name who is accused. The resort said law enforcement found no ongoing threat and kept the lodge open Tuesday. A Pocono Township police news conference was on the calendar for 3:30 p.m. The copy used here did not report an arrest.
PennLive and Lehigh Valley Live reported Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026, that two people are dead after an incident Monday evening at Great Wolf Lodge, 1 Great Wolf Drive, in Pocono Township, Monroe County. Both papers reported that Monroe County Coroner Tom Yanac told WNEP and WFMZ he responded to the resort for a double homicide investigation. FOX56 reported authorities are investigating a double homicide at the Scotrun resort and that the incident was in a guest room. The Times-Tribune reported two people are dead as a result of a domestic dispute Monday at the resort on Route 611 near Interstate 80. A coroner's response and a station's description of the call are the status of the investigation. They are not a charging document.
Jason Lasecki, Great Wolf's vice president of corporate communications, told The Times-Tribune the resort is "deeply saddened and heartbroken by a tragic domestic incident that occurred yesterday in a guest room." He said it was an isolated family incident, that the resort is cooperating with local law enforcement, and that further information should go to the Pocono Township Police Department. PennLive and Lehigh Valley Live reported he told them investigators determined Monday evening that there was no ongoing threat, and that the resort continued operations Tuesday. The Pocono Record reported a spokesperson confirmed to the paper that law enforcement was investigating a "domestic incident" from the previous afternoon, that the area was secured, and that there were no ongoing security concerns. The Record wrote that other outlets had indicated the incident was a double homicide, and that the paper had asked Coroner Thomas Yanac and Pocono Township police for more. A resort's description and a coroner's description are both in the reporting. They are not the same sentence.
FOX56, in a story updated Tuesday at 2:49 p.m., said the identities of the two people who died had not been released and labeled the story developing. PennLive and Lehigh Valley Live reported the Pocono Township Police Department had scheduled a news conference for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. WFMZ's page for that conference still described it as scheduled. The Times-Tribune reported its efforts to get information from the police department and the coroner's office had been unsuccessful when that story was published. No name of a person who died, and no name of a person arrested, is in the reports used here. A scheduled news conference is not a result until police give one. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Amarillo police booked Allen Plumlee on aggravated kidnapping and a third-or-more DWI after a Sunday night crash.
An aggravated-kidnapping booking is an accusation. It is not a conviction. The arrest report says a woman told officers she drove because she feared for her life. That statement is the state's account of the ride. It has not been tested in court.

A Bettendorf credit union employee is charged with taking $28,326.28 from customer accounts, most of them belonging to people who had died.
A theft filing built from account records is an accusation. It is not a finding that every dollar in the complaint moved the way police describe. KWQC reported that one account lost $21,279.51 and that the total across seven accounts was $28,326.28, six of them belonging to people who had died. Those figures are what the charging papers claim.

Arnaudville police arrested St. Martin Parish Republican official Chad Hardy on a theft charge.
A theft arrest of an elected party official is an accusation. It is not a conviction, and it is not a finding about how long the charges ran. Police have not said, in the accounts used here, how much money is at issue. The parish party's statement said it would wait on the court.
