Wu pleaded not guilty in a Manorhaven meet. A second pickup is not the first $30,000.

Han Bing Wu, of Flushing, Queens, was arrested Sept. 17 without incident on attempted grand larceny and a drug-possession count. He pleaded not guilty, was released without bail, is due back Oct. 7, and the counts are accusations only.

Attempted grand larceny and a drug count are accusations. A police theory tying Han Bing Wu to a second meet is not proof he participated in the first $30,000 loss. A not-guilty plea and release without bail are process. Wu, 31, of Flushing, Queens, pleaded not guilty Sept. 18 in First District Court in Hempstead and is due back Oct. 7.

On Sept. 13, 2026, an 84-year-old Manorhaven woman received a computer alert described as a Citibank fraud warning, called the number on the screen, and was told to withdraw $30,000 in cash for an "FBI agent," as reported. She withdrew the cash and gave it to an unidentified man, then realized it was a scam and called police. Four days later, detectives learned she had been contacted again for an additional $18,000. Police say Wu responded to meet her and collect that money, and that he was not the man who took the first $30,000. He was arrested Sept. 17 without incident, before collecting the additional money. A meet, a police identification, and an arrest before a handoff are investigation claims. They are not a finding that he joined the first loss or completed a theft.

Detectives also found a substance they believe to be ketamine. That belief is a police claim in the reporting. It is not, on these facts, a stated laboratory result, and the possession count is still an accusation. He is charged with attempted grand larceny in the third degree and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree. He pleaded not guilty Sept. 18 in First District Court in Hempstead, was released without bail, and is due back Oct. 7. A plea, a release, and a return date are process. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
