A first-degree murder charge and a no-bond hold are process. They are not a conviction. On Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026, WPTV and CBS12 reported that Milner, 38, of West Palm Beach, made his first Palm Beach County court appearance after being extradited from Broward County. He faces first-degree murder with a firearm, attempted first-degree murder with a firearm, shooting into an occupied vehicle, and additional weapon and warrant-related counts tied to the early Sunday shooting that killed Mount Calvary Baptist Church minister Akeem Moore, 31. A judge ordered him held without bond. The next reported court date is Oct. 30.

According to the probable-cause affidavit as recounted by CBS12 and WPTV, Moore had been on a date with Loren Wilder on Sept. 27, 2026. After midnight they sat in Moore's white Ford Fusion outside Wilder's residence on the 500 block of Ontario Place in West Palm Beach. About 12:30 a.m., Wilder told police, a man pounded on the front passenger window. She recognized him as Hugh Milner, the ex-boyfriend of her sister, Shavon Wilder. Police say Milner appeared to mistake Loren Wilder for Shavon. Those are affidavit and witness accounts. They are not findings of guilt.

The affidavit summary says Milner pulled a black handgun, pointed it at the car, and shouted words to the effect of "Is this what we are doing now?" Moore put the car in reverse, rolled down the passenger window, and yelled that the passenger was not Shavon. As he backed up, Milner allegedly shot the passenger-side headlight, then kept firing as Moore drove north. Moore drove to West Palm Beach Fire Station No. 5. Investigators reported four spent casings and a projectile at Ontario Place, damage to the headlight and rear window, and blood in the driver's seat. Moore was pronounced dead at St. Mary's Medical Center at 3:07 a.m. Those are investigative allegations and hospital timing as reported. They are not a verdict.

Police say Milner fled south into Broward County and was tracked with license-plate readers before Broward deputies arrested him. He was extradited to Palm Beach County late Wednesday night. Detectives also reported reviewing texts Milner allegedly sent to Shavon Wilder shortly before the shooting. West Palm Beach Police Chief Tony Araujo called Moore a hero for driving his passenger to safety after being shot. A chief's praise and an extradition are not findings that the State has proved every element. Milner is presumed innocent unless and until a court finds otherwise.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
