WSB-TV reported Jasmaine Smoak and Jasmine Jenkins were charged with murder after a 4-year-old was found dead.

WSB-TV reported October 30, 2026, that warrants charge Jasmaine Smoak and Jasmine Jenkins with murder and cruelty to children after a 4-year-old was found under clothes in a closet on Cardinal Drive. The New York Post, on November 3, added aggravated assault to Smoak's list. FOX 5 Atlanta's October 27 story charged Smoak with second-degree cruelty and concealing a death, and it did not name Jenkins. The child is not named here.

Murder, aggravated assault, second-degree cruelty, and concealing a death are charge lists from three different days. They are not a conviction, and they are not one agreed charging document. Sunday night, Tuesday night, and a 911 call the Post dated Oct. 26 are not the same time of the welfare check. No child is named in this story.

WSB-TV, by Courtney Martinez and Tom Jones, reported October 30, 2026, at 12:49 p.m. EDT, that Atlanta police found a 4-year-old dead at a townhome on Cardinal Drive during a welfare check Tuesday night, and that warrants charge Jasmaine Smoak and Jasmine Jenkins with murder and cruelty to children. It reported the warrants say officers found the child under a pile of clothes in a closet, and that the Fulton County Medical Examiner ruled the death the result of multiple blunt force injuries. The New York Post, by Patrick Reilly, published November 3, 2026, at 1:52 p.m. ET, reported two women have been arrested and charged with murder, that Smoak is 32, and that Jenkins is 30. It reported a warrant obtained by 11 Alive says the child died from multiple blunt force injuries and a lacerated liver and spleen, and that police said there were more than 20 injuries, including cuts, burns, and broken bones. FOX 5 Atlanta, by Marc Teichner, Jameson Moyer, and Aungelique Proctor, updated October 27, 2026, at 1:23 p.m. EDT, reported Smoak, 32, was accused of second-degree cruelty to children and concealing the death. It reported investigators had not publicly released a cause of death and had not said where in the townhouse the child was found. A medical examiner's blunt-force finding, a warrant's lacerated liver and spleen, and a page that says the cause has not been released are not the same finding. Murder and cruelty, on WSB-TV, murder plus aggravated assault and cruelty, in the Post's list for Smoak, and second-degree cruelty plus concealing a death, on FOX 5, are not the same charges. FOX 5 did not name Jenkins.

FOX 5 reported police and firefighters went to the Aviary Park Townhomes on Cardinal Drive, near Barge Road and Campbellton Road, around 7:20 p.m. Sunday for a welfare check, and that deputies arrested Smoak in Wilkes County overnight Monday. It reported she fled with three children in the vehicle, that one of those children was hospitalized with visible injuries, and that license-plate readers tracked the vehicle to Washington, Georgia, more than 100 miles east of Atlanta. It reported the Wilkes County Sheriff's Office said she remained in that jail, and that she is a friend of the child's mother and is not directly related. WSB-TV reported the welfare check was Tuesday night. Sunday night, and Tuesday night, are not the same night. The Post reported the child's mother is incarcerated in Clarke County and that Smoak was described as the caretaker. Incarcerated in Clarke County is the Post's sentence. FOX 5 does not print it. The Post reported her father called 911 on Oct. 26, that she had told him a child was unresponsive after getting into medication, and that Fox 5 Atlanta reported those facts. The FOX 5 story fetched here does not print Oct. 26, a father, or medication. It also does not print the Post's line that the child had been dead 12 to 24 hours. WSB-TV's Tuesday night and FOX 5's Sunday night are the two clocks in the stories those stations published. The Post's Oct. 26 is a third.

WSB-TV reported the warrants charge Jenkins as a party to the crime, with murder and first-degree cruelty to children, and that she was staying with Smoak. It reported both women left the children at the home to go out, and that investigators found a DoorDash bag Jenkins had ordered. The Post reported Jenkins was charged with murder and cruelty to children, and it does not print party to the crime, first-degree, or a DoorDash bag. Party to the crime and first-degree cruelty, on WSB-TV, and murder and cruelty, in the Post, are not the same count line. The Post reported Smoak was charged with murder, aggravated assault, and cruelty to children, and it quoted a claim that she "maliciously [caused] a child under the age of 18 cruel or excessive physical or mental pain by hitting, burning and beating." Aggravated assault is the Post's. WSB-TV and FOX 5 do not print it. The Post's body said she was arrested near Augusta, about 140 miles away, three days after the child was found, and a caption on the same page said she was arrested the day after. Three days, and the day after, are not the same interval. The same story also said that the day before the child was found she left in a white Mercedes-Benz with the child and three other children. Leaving the day before, and being arrested three days after, are not the same trip. FOX 5's three children in the vehicle, and the Post's account of the child plus three others the day before, are not the same number. WSB-TV reported officers tracked her to Wilkes County with three other children and that another child was taken to Augusta Medical Center. Washington, Georgia, and near Augusta, are not the same place name. FOX 5 reported Fulton County jail records show a previous arrest for theft by shoplifting. That is a prior arrest in a jail record. It is not a conviction, and it is not this case. The counts in these stories are charges. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count. Brookland-CUA Metro, and Brookland Metro, and Brookland-Catholic University Metro, are not the same station line. Snapchat messages, and a message, and an urgent message, are not the same account. Cash App, and cash app, and $300 with no app named, are not the same line. Judge Kravitz accepted the plea and found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. A 12-to-15-year range is not the sentence. Sentencing has not happened.
