On Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026, Richland County deputies arrested Jaylon Holmes, 18, and charged him with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime after a fatal stabbing Tuesday night on Moonglo Circle in the Dentsville area of Columbia, South Carolina. The charge is an accusation.

A murder charge after an arrest is an accusation. It is not a conviction. WIS, WACH, and the Post and Courier Columbia reported that Richland County Sheriff’s Department deputies charged Holmes, 18, with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime after a man was found with multiple upper-body stab wounds and pronounced dead at the scene on Moonglo Circle. Reporting also said Holmes had been on an ankle monitor tied to a prior shooting case and removed it after the stabbing.

On Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026, around 11:30 p.m., Richland County deputies responded to an assault with a weapon in the 30 block of Moonglo Circle in northeast Columbia. Deputies found a male victim with multiple stab wounds to the upper body. Emergency services pronounced him dead at the scene. Those are scene and medical facts as reported by the sheriff’s office and local outlets. They are not a finding that Holmes has been proved guilty.

Investigators identified Holmes as the suspect, local reporting said. According to the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, Holmes was supposed to be wearing an ankle monitor connected to a previous shooting and removed the monitor after the incident. Court records cited in the Post and Courier said he had pending attempted-murder and weapons charges from September 2025. Pending charges and a monitor status are process context. They are not proof of the new murder count.

On Wednesday, Sept. 30, the department’s Fugitive Task Force and Special Response Team found Holmes hiding in a storage room at a residence in northeast Richland County, officials said. He was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and booked at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center pending a bond hearing. Additional charges may be forthcoming, the department said. A booking and a bond-hearing wait are process. Holmes is presumed innocent.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
