WRAL says Joe Glover, 72, was arrested Friday after Jacqueline Brown, 80, was found shot in her Fayetteville home.

WRAL staff, posted Nov. 7, 2026, at 2:21:53 p.m. and updated Nov. 8, 2026, at 12:54:38 a.m., with no zone on those stamps, reported police arrested Joe Glover, 72, on Friday and that he is held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond. The headline and the opening say a man is charged with first-degree murder. ABC11, Friday, Nov. 6, 2026, at 8:29 p.m., with no zone, named Jacqueline Brown, 80, and did not name an arrest. WRAL places the home in the 7000 block of South Shield Drive. ABC11 places it in the 7700 block.

The 7000 block, and the 7700 block, are not the same block. Around 1:10 p.m., and 1:10 p.m., and Thursday afternoon, are not the same clock. Joe Glover, and Joe Lennon Glover, are not the same name line. Age 80, and age 81, are not the same age. First-degree murder, and homicide on a station graphic, are not the same word. A charge is not a conviction.

WRAL staff posted the story at 2:21:53 p.m. on Nov. 7, 2026, and updated it at 12:54:38 a.m. on Nov. 8, 2026. Neither stamp prints a zone. The headline says a man is charged with first-degree murder after an 80-year-old woman dies in Fayetteville on Thursday. The opening says a man is charged with first-degree murder after an elderly woman was found shot in her Fayetteville home on Thursday. The next sentence says Fayetteville police arrested Joe Glover, 72, on Friday, and that he is being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond. The charge sentence does not print his name. The arrest sentence does not print first-degree murder. A station graphic on the same page says man arrested in homicide, then Joe Glover, then Thursday about 1 p.m., the 7000 block of South Shield Drive, and Jacqueline Brown, 80, died at the hospital. Homicide, on the graphic, and first-degree murder, in the headline, are not the same word. About 1 p.m., on the graphic, and around 1:10 p.m., in the story, are not the same clock. The story says that around 1:10 p.m. Thursday, police responded to a home in the 7000 block of South Shield Drive after a call that a woman had fallen. Inside, they found 80-year-old Jacqueline Brown with a gunshot wound. Emergency responders began life-saving measures on scene, and she was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. She died at the hospital. Died at the hospital, in the story and on the graphic, and dies, in the headline, are not the same tense. WRAL says police are still investigating. It asks anyone with information to contact Detective J. Phillips at (910) 322-7046, or to call Crime Stoppers at (910) 483-8477. It does not print a plea, a lawyer, a motive, a relationship, or a next court date.

ABC11, datelined Fayetteville and marked WTVD, is stamped Friday, November 6, 2026, at 8:29 p.m., with no zone. It does not name Joe Glover, and it does not report an arrest. The headline says an 80-year-old was found dead from a gunshot after officers responded to a call about an elderly woman falling. The body says officers thought they were responding to a fall and found her with a gunshot wound instead, at 1:10 p.m. Thursday in the 7700 block of South Shield Drive. It says they found her inside the home, that she was rushed to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, and that she died from her injuries. Found dead, in the headline, and died from her injuries after she was rushed to the hospital, in the body, are not the same account. Died from her injuries, and died at the hospital, are not the same sentence. The 7700 block, on ABC11, and the 7000 block, on WRAL, are not the same block. 1:10 p.m., and around 1:10 p.m., are not the same precision. ABC11 says police identified her as Jacqueline Brown, 80, of Fayetteville. Of Fayetteville is ABC11. It is not in WRAL's sentence. ABC11 says Fayetteville police called the shooting an isolated incident with no threat to the public, and that the case remains under investigation. Isolated, and no threat to the public, are not on the WRAL story that was read. Life-saving measures on scene are on WRAL. They are not on ABC11. ABC11 asks for Detective J. Phillips at (910) 322-7046, and for anonymous tips to Fayetteville / Cumberland County Crime Stoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477), including an electronic submission. WRAL prints Crime Stoppers and the digits. It does not print TIPS, the slash between the city and the county, or an electronic tip. TIPS, and 8477, are the same number written two ways.

Triangle Local, by Alexandru Stanciu, published Nov. 8, 2026, at 6:10 a.m., with no zone on that line, is a roundup. It says WRAL and ABC11 identify Brown as 80, and that CBS 17 identifies her as 81. It says WRAL and CBS 17 both report the Friday arrest of Joe Glover, 72, on a first-degree murder charge, held without bond at the Cumberland County Detention Center, and that CBS 17 gives his name as Joe Lennon Glover and says the department announced the arrest on Saturday. Joe Glover, and Joe Lennon Glover, are not the same name line. Age 80, and age 81, are not the same age. Friday, for the arrest, and Saturday, for an announcement, are not the same day. CBS 17's own page returned an access denial when it was requested, so the middle name, the age 81, the Saturday announcement, a Thursday afternoon with no 1:10 p.m., a neighborhood off Cliffdale Road, and a block number different from WRAL's are Triangle Local's account of CBS 17. Triangle Local does not print either block. The 7000 block and the 7700 block in this write-up were read on WRAL and ABC11. Triangle Local also says it checked the city police news page on the morning of Nov. 8 and did not find a release on this case, and that the newest items shown there were from May 2026. That check was not repeated here. Triangle Local says the arrest stories it read do not give a relationship, a motive, a court date, or a statement from Glover or from a lawyer. Its description of the CBS 17 headline uses grandmother. WRAL and ABC11 do not print grandmother. The Fayetteville Observer page returned an access restriction and was not used. A charge is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count. A bench outside Father O'Connell Hall, and a park on the campus, and a small plaza by that hall, and the 600 block of Alumni Lane, are not the same place. Brookland-CUA Metro, and Brookland Metro, and Brookland-Catholic University Metro, are not the same station line. Snapchat messages, and a message, and an urgent message, are not the same account. Cash App, and cash app, and $300 with no app named, are not the same line. Judge Kravitz accepted the plea and found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. A 12-to-15-year range is not the sentence. Sentencing has not happened.
