FOX61 reported a warrant says John Bongiovanni told police he was on ketamine at the Westbrook shooting.

Alyshia Hercules, FOX61, published and updated at 3:28 p.m. EST on Nov. 4, 2026, reported John Bongiovanni, 37, is charged with murder and criminal attempt to commit murder. The woman who was killed is Katie Lilijehdahl on that page, Katie Liljedahl on WFSB's Nov. 3 story, and Katie Diljedahl on WFSB's Oct. 29 update. NBC Connecticut did not print her name.

Murder and criminal attempt to commit murder are the charges. Ketamine, in the warrant accounts FOX61 and WFSB published this week, is not in the Oct. 28 and Oct. 29 stories. Nov. 10 is not the Thursday appearance those earlier stories already reported. Minor injuries to his face, and significant physical injuries, are not the same description.

FOX61, by Alyshia Hercules, published and updated at 3:28 p.m. EST on Nov. 4, 2026, reported John Bongiovanni, 37, was arrested at the scene and charged with murder and criminal attempt to commit murder. It reported police responded last Wednesday to a home on East Pond Meadow Road in Westbrook at around 5:30 p.m. for a disturbance, that a 911 call from his phone had heavy breathing and yelling in the background, and that he was outside walking around with his hands above his head and was handcuffed. It reported an officer saw Ryan Graham, 41, coming down the stairs from the second floor with a gun shot wound to his chest, and that he was taken to Hartford Hospital by a Lifestar helicopter and is in critical condition. Gun shot, as two words, is the spelling on that page. It reported Graham told them Bongiovanni forced his way into the bedroom and shot him and 44-year-old Katie Lilijehdahl with a revolver, that police found her on the bedroom floor, that she appeared to be shot in the head or neck area, and that she was pronounced dead at the scene. It reported officers found a black gun on the floor near her body. It reported Bongiovanni had minor injuries to his face but no other apparent wounds and was taken to a nearby hospital. A line on the page said he appeared in court as his bond was set at $3 million, which it attributed to a state police report. WFSB, by Quinn Pramberger, published Nov. 3, 2026, at 4:38 p.m. EST, with the page showing an update and no separate clock for it, reported the woman as Katie Liljedahl, with no age, and reported Graham said Bongiovanni forcefully entered the bedroom and shot both of them with a silver revolver. Lilijehdahl, and Liljedahl, are not the same spelling. Forty-four, on FOX61, is an age WFSB's Nov. 3 story does not print. A revolver, and a silver revolver, are not the same fullness. Head or neck, and the head area, which is where WFSB said she was shot, are not the same wound line. Forced his way, and forcefully entered, are not the same verb. WFSB printed LifeStar as one capital S. FOX61 printed Lifestar. WFSB's Nov. 3 story did not print Graham's age, a bond, or the words critical condition.

The words from the scene are in both warrant stories, and they are not in the earlier stories below. FOX61 reported that according to the arrest warrant he told police at the scene "I shot" and "I shot well," that he admitted to the shooting, and that he admitted to being "under their influence of ketamine." Under their influence is the page's phrase. WFSB reported he told state police "I shot" and "I shot well," and that he later admitted he was under the influence of ketamine. Later, on WFSB, and admitted, in the same FOX61 sentence as the shooting, are not the same order. FOX61 reported that after a search warrant, officers searched his room on the first floor and found several weapons, including a gun on the floor, a sword, and a rifle. A black gun near her body, a revolver in Graham's account, and a gun, a sword, and a rifle in his room are three weapon lines on the same FOX61 story. WFSB's Nov. 3 story printed the silver revolver and did not print the sword, the rifle, or the black gun. FOX61 reported police tried to speak with him after he was released from the hospital, that he refused, and that he asked for an attorney. It reported his next court appearance is Tuesday, Nov. 10. WFSB's Nov. 3 story did not print the hospital interview, the attorney, or Nov. 10.

WFSB's earlier story, by Cierra Jordan, Anna Stansfield, Luke Hajdasz, Rob Polansky, and Quinn Pramberger, published Oct. 28, 2026, at 6:22 p.m. EDT and updated Oct. 29, 2026, at 6:35 p.m. EDT, identified him as 37-year-old John Bongiovanni and spelled the woman who was killed as Katie Diljedahl. Diljedahl, Liljedahl, and Lilijehdahl are three spellings. It reported state police responded to East Pond Meadow Road around 5:25 p.m., that the investigation continued into Thursday morning, and that both people inside had suffered gunshot wounds. Around 5:25 p.m., and around 5:30 p.m., are not the same time. It reported LifeStar was called, that Ryan Graham was transported to Hartford Hospital and remained in critical but stable condition, and that authorities had not disclosed whether or how Bongiovanni knew the two. Critical but stable, on that update, and critical condition, on FOX61, and critical condition as of Thursday morning, on NBC Connecticut, are not the same status. It reported he was charged with murder and criminal attempt to commit murder, that he appeared in Middletown court Thursday, and that a judge set his bond at $3 million. Thursday, and Nov. 10, are not the same date. It reported that while police had not released what led up to the shooting, his public defender said in court, "My client does have significant physical injuries, my office will document them this morning." The public defender is not named. Significant physical injuries, in that quotation, and minor injuries to his face but no other apparent wounds, on FOX61, are not the same description. That Oct. 29 update did not print ketamine, the "I shot" lines, or a revolver. NBC Connecticut, by Stephanie O'Connell, published Oct. 29, 2026, and updated at 4:13 p.m., reported troopers from Troop F responded to E. Pond Meadow Rd. at approximately 5:25 p.m., located John Bongiovanni, 37, outside, and found two victims inside with apparent gunshot wounds. East Pond Meadow Road, and E. Pond Meadow Rd., are not the same fullness. It reported one victim was pronounced dead at the scene and did not print the name. It reported the second was at Hartford Hospital in critical condition as of Thursday morning. It reported he was charged with murder and criminal attempt to commit murder, held on a $3 million cash/surety bond, and scheduled to appear in Middletown Superior Court on Thursday. Cash/surety is NBC Connecticut's phrase. WFSB printed $3 million and did not print cash/surety. NBC Connecticut did not print ketamine, a weapon, or either victim's name. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count. A bench outside Father O'Connell Hall, and a park on the campus, and a small plaza by that hall, and the 600 block of Alumni Lane, are not the same place. Brookland-CUA Metro, and Brookland Metro, and Brookland-Catholic University Metro, are not the same station line. Snapchat messages, and a message, and an urgent message, are not the same account. Cash App, and cash app, and $300 with no app named, are not the same line. Judge Kravitz accepted the plea and found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. A 12-to-15-year range is not the sentence. Sentencing has not happened.
