WALB reported the Dougherty Judicial Circuit said a jury convicted J'Shon Davyen Price of malice murder in the killing of Eboni Nicole Hood.

The station reported Nov. 2, 2026, that the jury also found him guilty of felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and that sentencing is later. The page's subhead calls it a Dougherty County jury and says he was found guilty of killing Eboni Hood on Nov. 2. The body dates the shooting August 10, 2024.

The four guilty findings are what WALB reported the circuit said the jury returned after a week-long trial. Life without parole plus five years is what the station said prosecutors say he faces. The district attorney's office said sentencing is later. That exposure is not the judgment. A Dougherty County jury, in the subhead, and the Dougherty Judicial Circuit, in the body, are not the same name. Killing her on Nov. 2, in the subhead, and a shooting on August 10, 2024, in the body, are not the same date.

WALB, in a story by Leah Kincaid published Nov. 2, 2026, at 4:56 p.m. EST, reported a man accused of shooting and killing his girlfriend at an Albany apartment complex in 2024 was found guilty of all charges. The page's datePublished and dateModified are both 2026-11-02T21:56:45.54Z. It reported that according to the Dougherty Judicial Circuit, a jury convicted J'Shon Davyen Price on charges of Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during Commission of a Felony on Monday, Nov. 2, following a week-long trial. It reported he was accused of shooting and killing his then-girlfriend, 19-year-old Eboni Nicole Hood, at Shoreham Apartments on Champagne Lane in Albany on August 10, 2024. Girlfriend, in the first sentence, and then-girlfriend, in the next, are not the same word. Eboni Hood, in the subhead below, and Eboni Nicole Hood, in that sentence, are not the same name. It reported prosecutors say that despite his claim that the shooting was accidental, he is now facing the maximum sentence of life in prison without parole plus five years. That is the exposure the station said prosecutors described. It is not a sentence the story reported had been imposed. It quoted District Attorney Gregory Edwards, "I am grateful that we were able to bring some sense of closure to Eboni Hood's family," and then, "The hard work and dedication of our law enforcement officers, along with the efforts of our forensic analysts employed with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation," which the station broke with the words "Edwards commented" before the quotation "contributed to the justice received in this case." It reported the district attorney's office said Price will be sentenced on a later date. No judge is named. No courtroom is named. The subhead on the page reads, "A Dougherty County jury found J'Shon Price guilty of killing Eboni Hood on Nov. 2." The title tag instead ends that clause "in 2024." The meta description reads, "On Nov. 2 a Dougherty County jury found J'Shon Price guilty of shooting and killing Eboni Hood at their home at Shoreham Apartments in August 2024, according to the district attorney's office." On Nov. 2, as the day of the killing, and on Nov. 2, as the day of the verdict, with the killing in August 2024, are not the same reading. August 2024, in the description, and August 10, 2024, in the body, are not the same date. "At their home" is in the description. It is not in the body. A Dougherty County jury, in the subhead, the title, and the description, and the Dougherty Judicial Circuit, in the body, are not the same name for who reported the verdict.

WALB's June 25, 2026, story, by Zoe Wells, published at 3:58 p.m. EDT, reported a trial date had been tentatively set for J'Shon Price, the man accused in the 2024 shooting death of his girlfriend, Eboni Hood. It reported he appeared Thursday morning for a docket call. June 25, 2026, was a Thursday. It reported he is charged with malice murder, felony murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Those count names are lowercase. The Nov. 2 story capitalizes them. "During the commission of a crime," on June 25, and "during Commission of a Felony," on Nov. 2, are not the same firearm count. Charged, in June, is not the Nov. 2 guilty findings. It reported investigators say he claimed the shooting was accidental, and that Albany Police detectives filed the original charges based on evidence gathered during the investigation. The photograph on that story is captioned, "Investigators say J'Shon Price claimed the shooting was accidental," and the caption credits the Albany Police Department. It reported Hood's family said they were relieved to see the case moving forward and that the wait had been difficult. It quoted Daniel Hood, the victim's father, "Nobody's life should be this way." The rest of his quoted remarks, as the station printed them, were about the family having to see photographs at trial. That quote is from June. It is not a statement the Nov. 2 story attributes to him. The June story reported the case was scheduled for trial on August 17th, although the date could change depending on what motions were filed. August 17th, as a tentative date, and a week-long trial that WALB reported ended Nov. 2, are not the same setting. The June story does not print Davyen, does not print Nicole, and does not print her age.

WALB's Aug. 10, 2024, story, by Lorenza Medley and Quinlan Parker, published at 10:25 a.m. EDT and updated at 6:59 p.m. EDT, reported the arrest. It reported officers with the Albany Police Department arrived at the 2200 block of Champagne Lane at around 12:11 a.m., according to a release, and that Dougherty County Coroner Micheal Fowler told the station Eboni Nicole Hood was pronounced dead at around 12:45 a.m. Micheal is the spelling on the page. It reported police said she was found dead inside the bedroom of her upstairs apartment from a gunshot wound to the face, and that the suspect told police he accidentally shot his girlfriend in the face. The Nov. 2 story does not print the face, the bedroom, the upstairs apartment, 12:11 a.m., or 12:45 a.m. It reported the suspect was identified as J'Shon Davyen Price, 21, and that he and Hood were residing together in the apartment, according to police. Twenty-one, on Aug. 10, 2024, is the age that story printed. The Nov. 2 story does not print his age. It reported that based on the evidence he was charged with murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and aggravated assault (FV), and that he was taken to the Dougherty County Jail. Murder, as the 2024 charge line, is not the Nov. 2 pair of malice murder and felony murder. Aggravated assault (FV), in 2024, and Aggravated Assault, on Nov. 2, are not the same count line. It reported Fowler said an autopsy would be done on Tuesday, Aug. 13, at the GBI Crime Lab in Macon. The Nov. 2 story does not print the autopsy. It does quote Edwards on forensic analysts employed with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Shoreham Apartments, in the Nov. 2 body, and the 2200 block of Champagne Lane, in the 2024 story, are the addresses those stories print. The 2024 story also described a separate killing in Albany that morning. That account was not added here. The Nov. 2 guilty findings are what WALB reported the circuit said the jury returned. The sentence has not been reported.

The Middle District of Georgia release says Judge Self sentenced Josue Serda to life in prison. FOX 5 Atlanta and WSB-TV say life without parole.

Life in prison, and life without parole, and there is no parole in the federal system, are not the same sentence. More than 50 kilograms of methamphetamine, and 50 kilograms, are not the same quantity. Three investigations, and one ring that seized more than 200 kilograms, are not the same case. A charge against Raul Perez-Mondragon is an allegation.

Roland Chatmon and three others pleaded guilty in the kidnapping of his uncle, Curtis Dixon.

A guilty plea is the conviction on the counts a defendant admits. It is not the prison term. FOX 2 and the New York Post say the four kidnapping defendants face a mandatory minimum of seven years and a maximum of life, with hearings in 2027. WXYZ reported that all five, including Kenneth Anderson, face that range. FOX 2, CBS Detroit, and the Post say Anderson was already sentenced to probation.

Trials

By Crime Talk Network Staff Writer

An Ottawa jury found Fsha Tekhle guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing of Brkti Berhe.

A first-degree murder verdict is the jury's finding on that count. CBC wrote that the conviction comes with automatic life sentences, plural, and no eligibility for parole for 25 years. The Ottawa Citizen described an automatic sentence of life without parole for 25 years. No eligibility for parole for 25 years, and life without parole for 25 years, are not the same words. Tekhle admitted causing the death and pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder.
