CBS Los Angeles, by Austin Turner, published November 3, 2026, at 3:52 p.m. PST, reported an Oceanside woman has been accused of intentionally causing a traffic collision in the Inland Empire that led to the death of another woman and injured three others, including an infant, authorities said. It reported that, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, deputies in Rancho Cucamonga were dispatched at about 8:58 p.m. on reports of a crash at the intersection of Day Creek Boulevard and Wilson Avenue. It reported that upon arrival deputies discovered a three-vehicle collision, and that the driver of one of the vehicles, later identified as 32-year-old Julia Kunkel, was injured and uncooperative. It reported another vehicle contained four occupants, that all four were transported to a local hospital, and that one of them, a 40-year-old Rancho Cucamonga resident, was pronounced dead and later identified as Leslie De Belen. It reported the three other occupants, including a 6-month-old infant, were treated for injuries, and that their current conditions were not specified. It reported the single occupant of the third vehicle was uninjured. It reported that as the investigation continued the sheriff's department determined Kunkel allegedly struck the vehicle containing De Belen intentionally, and that authorities said she will be arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder once she is medically cleared to be released from the hospital. It reported no additional details were immediately made available. The page does not print Sunday, a hospital name, or a sentence that she was already booked.
