November 4, on the police release, and early Thursday morning, on Action News 5, are not the same day. Nov. 5, the day that story was published, was a Thursday. November 4 was a Wednesday. First-Degree Murder in the Perpetration of a Robbery, and first-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery, are not the same charge line. The police release does not mention the crash at Hickory Hill Road and Raines Road. Action News 5 does. That crash is a separate account.
The Memphis Police Department, in a release dated November 6, 2026, with no clock, reported investigators made arrests in three separate homicide investigations within a 48-hour period. This account is the Flowering Peach Drive and South Mendenhall Road section of that release, case number 2610023496ME. The other two arrests are not this charge. It reported a shooting near Flowering Peach Drive and South Mendenhall Road on October 11, 2026, left one man dead. It reported officers responded to the scene at approximately 12:26 a.m., where the victim was pronounced deceased. It does not print his name, an age, or a neighborhood name. It reported investigators determined that Keelan McWilliams, 18, Christopher Garvins, 18, and a 17-year-old male were responsible for the shooting. It reported that on November 4, all three were located and taken into custody. It reported McWilliams, Garvins, and the juvenile were charged with First-Degree Murder in the Perpetration of a Robbery. Were responsible, in that release, is not the word suspect. The 17-year-old male is not named. It reported the homicide bureau maintains an 89 percent homicide clearance rate. A clearance rate is not a finding in this case.
Action News 5, by Lydian Coombs, published Nov. 5, 2026, at 4:14 p.m. CST, with an updated line that printed a relative time and did not print a second clock, reported five arrests in three separate murder cases within 48 hours. Five arrests, on that page, is the count for the whole story. This account is the Hickory Hill section. It says the department touted the updates in a release Thursday. A release Thursday, and a police page dated November 6, are not the same date. It reported Keelan McWilliams, 18, Christopher Garvins, 18, and an unidentified 17-year-old boy face charges of first-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery in a shooting that left a man dead in the area of Flowering Peach Drive and South Mendenhall Road in Hickory Hill on Oct. 11. In the area of, and in Hickory Hill, are Action News 5. Near, with no neighborhood name, is the police release. Oct. 11, on Action News 5, does not print 12:26 a.m. A 17-year-old boy, and unidentified, are Action News 5. A 17-year-old male, with no word unidentified, is the police release. The juvenile is not named on either page. First-degree murder in perpetration of a robbery, and First-Degree Murder in the Perpetration of a Robbery, are not the same charge line. The word the is on the police release. It is not in that Action News 5 charge line. Face charges, and were charged, are not the same verb. It says booking records show the two adult suspects were apprehended early Thursday morning. The story was published Thursday, Nov. 5, at 4:14 p.m. CST. Early Thursday morning is that morning. November 4, on the police release, was a Wednesday. Early Thursday morning, and November 4, are not the same day. Two adult suspects, and all three, are not the same count. Apprehended, and located and taken into custody, are not the same sentence. Suspects, on Action News 5, and were responsible, on the police release, are not the same word. It says this was the call police were responding to when they collided with another vehicle at Hickory Hill Road and Raines Road, leaving five people dead and three others, including two officers, gravely wounded. That sentence is Action News 5. The November 6 police release does not mention the collision. That crash is a separate account. This account does not rewrite it. The story says the bureau maintains an 89 percent clearance rate for homicide cases. An 89 percent clearance rate for homicide cases, and an 89 percent homicide clearance rate, are not the same phrase.
The charge is what those two pages describe. Neither page prints a plea, a bond, a lawyer, or a trial date. The victim is not named. The juvenile is not named. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.
