A malice-murder charge after a Sunday arrest is the accusation. It is not a finding that Faust fired the shot. FOX 5, WSB, Atlanta News First, and The Red & Black agree on the two names, the two ages, the block, a hospital death, and the two charges. They do not all state Foster's city, and they do not all state the minute of the call. None of them gives a motive.

FOX 5 Atlanta reported Sunday, Oct. 11, 2026, that officers responded around 12:06 a.m. to a report of a man shot in the 150 block of Thumpa Avenue in Athens. The station reported Tre Foster, 33, of Athens, was taken to a local hospital and died there, and that Kendrick Faust, 24, was taken into custody Sunday and charged with malice murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. WSB-TV reported the same time, the same block, the same ages, the same two charges, and that Faust is of Athens. Atlanta News First reported Foster, 33, was shot early Sunday morning in that block, that he died at a hospital, and that Faust, 24, of Athens, was charged with those two counts in connection with the homicide. The Red & Black, citing an Athens-Clarke County Police Department press release, reported that Faust, 24, an Athens resident, was arrested Sunday in the fatal shooting of Foster, 33, an Athens resident, on those two charges. A charging announcement is the accusation.

The minute of the call, and Foster's city, are not in every story. FOX 5 and WSB give about 12:06 a.m. Atlanta News First says early Sunday morning and does not give a clock time. The Red & Black does not give a time or the street. FOX 5 and The Red & Black say Foster was of Athens. WSB and Atlanta News First print his age and do not add a city for him. Faust's age, 24, and Athens as his city are in all four. The two charges match in all four. None of these accounts says who fired, or why.

Who helped make the arrest is also not in every story. FOX 5 reported police made the arrest with assistance from Safe Streets and other law enforcement agencies. The Red & Black reported the same assistance. WSB and Atlanta News First do not name Safe Streets. WSB reported the investigation remains active and asked anyone with information to contact Detective Paul Johnson at Paul.Johnson@accgov.com or 762-400-7060. The Red & Black published the same detective, the same email, and the same number. FOX 5 reported authorities have not released a motive or any account of what led up to the shooting. A request for tips is not a motive.

The Red & Black described its account as a department press release. FOX 5 said its information came from the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. WSB attributed the account to Athens-Clarke County PD. Atlanta News First attributed it to Athens-Clarke County police. Those are four tellings of one department's Sunday announcement. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Thornton police say Luis Arebalo is still at large after an officer was shot on Ulster Street.

A name on a Monday police release is an identification. It is not a complaint, and it is not a finding that Arebalo fired the round that hit the officer. 9NEWS's overnight story put police on scene around 11:20 p.m. and did not give a name. The department release the morning outlets used puts the call at 9:33 p.m. Those are two clocks for one shooting.

East Lampeter police say Tobias Click died Sunday after he was accused of killing Ernesto Rodriguez.

A coroner's pronouncement is a death. It is not a trial of the charges filed while he was alive. WGAL and PennLive say he died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday. WDAC's Monday item still has him in a Cumberland County hospital and still says he faces the charges. The woman who spoke to police is not named in these accounts. The children are not named either.
