The new counts are charges. WFMZ reported Sgt. Trevor Atkins said Foxx and Vaux were being arraigned and would be taken to Berks County Prison. The station did not report a plea. WGAL's account of the police release says Petrino's whereabouts remain unknown. People under 18 are not named here.

WGAL reported Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, that Reading police and U.S. Marshals arrested Luke Foxx, 21, and Josiah Vaux, 23, on Thursday in the disappearance of Michael Petrino Jr., 23, of Lebanon County. FOX 29 reported the same agencies made the arrest and the same counts: second-degree murder, kidnapping and related offenses. WFMZ reported both men face those counts and quoted Reading Police Criminal Investigator Sgt. Trevor Atkins: "This was a resolution of that investigation and months of reviewing evidence related to witness statements, video footage and digital evidence, which is what led us to these two." WFMZ reported eight people are now charged in the disappearance and in what police called a presumed death. WGAL, citing a police release, reported Petrino's whereabouts remain unknown and the investigation is ongoing.

The intersection is the same place and not the same spelling. WGAL reported police said he was lured to Second and Oley streets in Reading on March 25. FOX 29 reported 2nd and Oley Streets, in the early morning. WFMZ printed "North Sercond and Oley streets." FOX 29 reported he had been frequenting Reading, that his rented Jeep Compass was found abandoned in the 1200 block of Muhlenberg Street in the days after he was reported missing, and that the Jeep was processed for evidence. WGAL reported investigators allege he was assaulted, forced from his rented Jeep, taken to a secluded location, bound, and transferred to another vehicle. FOX 29 reported police said Foxx and Vaux, both armed, bound him, put him in their vehicle, and left. WFMZ reported investigators believe the handoff was in a secluded area near Birdsboro, and that the two tied him and put him in the trunk of the car they were driving. A trunk is in WFMZ's account. It is not in the WGAL summary. FOX 29 says "their vehicle" and does not say trunk.

WFMZ quoted Atkins: "There was an ongoing issue between Michael Petrino Jr. and those other two individuals, and they were actively seeking Petrino and were offering other people money and narcotics to bring him to them." WGAL and FOX 29 reported police said a bounty had been placed on him. FOX 29 reported the department's release said information from multiple sources indicated ongoing issues with people in Berks County. PennLive reported three of the people police placed in the Jeep that morning were 17, 16 and 16. They are not named here. WFMZ reported Vaux and Foxx were being arraigned and would be taken to Berks County Prison, and that investigators are still searching for Petrino's body. FOX 29 reported authorities have not disclosed his whereabouts or condition. WGAL reported the release asks anyone with information to call Reading police at 610-655-6116 or Crime Alert Berks County at 877-373-9913. The murder and kidnapping counts are what police say is in the complaint. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Philip Ambrose pleaded not guilty to murder and guilty to manslaughter in the death of Michael Hayes.

The plea those outlets reported is an admission to manslaughter. It is not a sentence. The Leader says he is back on Oct. 30 so a sentencing date can be set. RTÉ and The Journal say next Friday, for a date for the sentence hearing, and do not print Oct. 30. The Leader is also the outlet that says the prosecution told the court the plea was acceptable to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
