Lynn Cottrell Poschner, and Lynn Poschner, and Poscher, are not the same spelling. Being held, and out on a $15,000 cash bond, are not the same custody. Oct. 28, and Oct. 29, are not the same death date. North of Aurora Avenue, and Northwest Aurora Avenue, and the 4300 block of 86th Street, are not the same place line. Nearly 69%, and nearly 70%, and 95,762 yes votes to 43,313 no votes, are not the same retention figure. Admits, in the Local 5 headline, is not a plea.

weareiowa, by Caleb Geer, published at 8:59 p.m. CST on November 4, 2026, and updated at 9:37 p.m. CST on November 5, 2026, reported Urbandale police announced that 45 year-old Lynn Cottrell Poschner was arrested Wednesday and charged with homicide by vehicle - reckless driving and serious injury by vehicle - reckless driving. Its lede says a Polk County judge was arrested and charged with counts of reckless driving. Counts of reckless driving, and homicide by vehicle - reckless driving, are not the same charge name. The body says she is being held at Polk County Jail. It says a spokesperson for the Iowa Judicial Branch confirmed to Local 5 that Poschner is a district associate judge in Judicial District 5C, which covers Polk County. KCCI, updated at 8:56 p.m. CST on Nov. 5, 2026, with that updated clock printed twice and with no byline name and no separate published clock, reported the Polk County Jail's website lists 45-year-old Lynn Poschner of Urbandale as out on bond. It reported she was charged with homicide by vehicle and serious injury by vehicle and was initially held on a $15,000 cash bond. KCCI does not print reckless driving in that charge sentence. Iowa Public Radio, by Tom Barton, published November 5, 2026, at 5:07 p.m. CST, reported District Associate Judge Lynn Poschner was arrested Wednesday and that Poschner, 45, faces charges of homicide by vehicle and serious injury by vehicle, both involving reckless driving. It calls them felony charges. It reported she was released from the Polk County Jail on a $15,000 cash bond. Lynn Cottrell Poschner, on Local 5, and Lynn Poschner, on KCCI and Iowa Public Radio, are not the same name. 45 year-old, and 45-year-old, and 45, are not the same typesetting. Being held, on a Local 5 page updated at 9:37 p.m., and out on bond, on KCCI at 8:56 p.m., and released on a $15,000 cash bond, on Iowa Public Radio at 5:07 p.m., are not the same custody. Of Urbandale, for Poschner, is the jail-website line on KCCI. Local 5 and Iowa Public Radio do not print her city. Iowa Public Radio reported the Iowa Judicial Branch says she is taking time off and her pending juvenile court cases are being reassigned to other judges. That sentence does not name a child. Local 5 and KCCI do not print the time off or the reassignment. Iowa Public Radio reported the Polk County Attorney's Office says the case has been referred to and will be prosecuted by the Iowa Attorney General's Office to avoid potential conflict of interest by local prosecutors. Local 5 and KCCI do not print the attorney general. Iowa Public Radio reported a spokesperson for the Urbandale Police Department did not return a message Thursday inquiring about the timing of Poschner's arrest.

The crash account is not one place or one death date. Local 5 reported that, in a press release from September, Urbandale police stated they responded Sept. 25 to a vehicle-pedestrian crash in the 4300 block of 86th Street, that two pedestrians sustained "serious injuries," and that one, identified as 60-year-old Jasmira Kadic of Urbandale, later died. It reported Urbandale police said in September that findings indicated Kadic and the other pedestrian were crossing 86th Street north of Aurora Avenue when they were struck by the northbound vehicle around 9 p.m., and that the driver, now identified as Poschner, was uninjured and did not leave the scene. Iowa Public Radio reported that, according to a criminal complaint, she struck two pedestrians crossing 86th Street north of Aurora Avenue on Sept. 25. It does not print 9 p.m., the 4300 block, northbound, or that she stayed at the scene. KCCI reported they were hit at 86th Street and Northwest Aurora Avenue. North of Aurora Avenue, and Northwest Aurora Avenue, and the 4300 block of 86th Street, are not the same place line. Around 9 p.m. is Local 5's clock. KCCI and Iowa Public Radio do not print it. Local 5's dek says 60-year-old Jasmira Kadic of Urbandale was seriously injured after being struck by a car in September and was pronounced dead on Oct. 29. Its lede says one of which died less than a week ago, on a story updated Nov. 5. Its body says she later died and does not print a death date. Iowa Public Radio reported Jasmira Kadic, 60, of Urbandale, died due to her injuries on Oct. 28. KCCI reported Kadic died Oct. 28. Pronounced dead on Oct. 29, and died Oct. 28, and died due to her injuries on Oct. 28, are not the same sentence. The other pedestrian is not named here. The phone account is not one document. Iowa Public Radio, citing a criminal complaint, reported Poschner told police she looked down at her phone and tapped the screen to adjust audio through her vehicle before striking the two pedestrians, and that she said she did not see them. It reported a forensic examination of her phone found the screen had been on and unlocked around the time of the collision. Local 5, citing a search warrant application, reported she told officers the audiobook on her phone quit working through her vehicle's speakers and she made statements about reaching down to push something on the phone, which was in her center console, and that she reportedly told law enforcement she did not see anyone in the roadway before the crash. It quotes the document: "Poscher was not 100% confident if she was on her phone, talking or texting, at the time of the collision but did admit to looking at her phone," and, "Poschner was confident she was trying to switch something on her phone as the audiobook stopped playing though her speakers." Poscher, and Poschner, are both in that Local 5 quotation. Though her speakers, in the quotation, and through her vehicle's speakers, in the paragraph above it, are not the same word. Local 5 does not print a forensic examination. KCCI, citing the criminal complaint, reported she told authorities she had been looking at her phone just before the crash and did not see 60-year-old Jasmira Kadic of Urbandale and another person crossing the street. KCCI does not print an audiobook, a center console, or a forensic examination. A criminal complaint, on Iowa Public Radio and KCCI, and a search warrant application, on Local 5, are not the same document name. Local 5's headline says she admits to looking at her phone. A sentence in a complaint or a warrant application is not a plea.

The retention figures are not one number. Iowa Public Radio reported she was arrested Wednesday, a day after nearly 69% of voters approved retaining her for another six-year term, according to unofficial results. Local 5 reported that, according to the Iowa Secretary of State's website, Poschner was on the ballot for retention this midterm, and she kept her seat with nearly 70% of votes cast in approval. KCCI reported she was on the ballot for retention Tuesday and was retained, receiving 95,762 yes votes and 43,313 no votes. Nearly 69%, and nearly 70%, are not the same figure. KCCI prints the vote totals and does not print a percentage. Unofficial results, on Iowa Public Radio, and the Iowa Secretary of State's website, on Local 5, are not the same source line. Another six-year term is Iowa Public Radio. Local 5 and KCCI do not print six years. Tuesday is KCCI's election day. A day after is Iowa Public Radio's arrest timing. This midterm is Local 5's ballot line. Iowa Public Radio reported the Judicial Qualifications Commission investigates complaints against Iowa judges and can suspend them during investigations, and that it can also refer complaints to the Iowa Supreme Court, which has authority to formally discipline judges. That paragraph does not say a complaint has been filed. The Iowa Judicial Branch page for District 5 judges lists Lynn Poschner as District Associate Judge for 5C and says Judge Poschner, Polk County, was appointed to the bench in May 2018. It says she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Northern Iowa in 2003 and her J.D. from Drake Law School in 2007 with High Honors, and that her past experience includes private practice law. That page does not mention the crash. KCCI, Local 5, and Iowa Public Radio do not print May 2018 or the schools. Polk County, on the branch page, and of Urbandale, on KCCI, are not the same place line. The charges are what those pages describe. They do not print a conviction in the crash. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count.
