The charge stack is aggravated assault, kidnapping, sexual assault, and sexual abuse. A charge is not a conviction, and these pages do not report a plea or a court date. FOX 10 and the Tempe Independent place the stop at 8th Street and Dorsey Lane and the arrest on Nov. 5. 12 News places the stop at Dorsey Lane and 89th Street and the arrest on Nov. 6. 8th Street, and 89th Street, are not the same corner.

FOX 10 Phoenix, by Sara Filips and Brent Corrado, updated Nov. 6, 2026, at 1:42 p.m. MST, reported Tempe police arrested Mach Kim on Nov. 5 in a kidnapping and sexual assault reported on Halloween. The same page was first published Oct. 31, 2026, at 3:20 p.m. MST, before the arrest. It reported he was booked into jail and accused of aggravated assault, kidnapping, sexual assault, and sexual abuse. The Tempe Independent, in a story dated Nov. 6, 2026, reported detectives arrested him on Nov. 5 and booked him on those four charges, and that the department was releasing his booking photograph. Arizona's Family, by Ben Bradley, published Nov. 6, 2026, at 1:17 p.m. MST, reported he was booked into the Maricopa County jail on Thursday. Nov. 5, 2026, was a Thursday. 12 News, by Melissa Morrissette, published and updated at 1:10 p.m. MST on Nov. 6, reported he was arrested on Nov. 6. Nov. 5, and Nov. 6, are not the same day. Thursday, and Nov. 6, are not the same day.

FOX 10 reported that, according to Tempe police, a man approached a woman near 8th Street and Dorsey Lane at about 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 31, forced her into his car at gunpoint, drove her to an unknown area, assaulted her, and dropped her off near McClintock and University drives. The headline on that page says sexually assaulting. The body says assaulted. Sexually assaulting, and assaulted, are not the same word, and both are on FOX 10. Arizona's Family reported the same corner, just south of University Drive, and that he sexually assaulted her before the drop-off near McClintock and University drives. It called the hour Halloween morning. The Tempe Independent reported Dorsey Lane and 8th Street, an SUV, a sexual assault at an unknown location, and the same drop-off. 12 News reported Dorsey Lane and 89th Street, an SUV, and Halloween night, and it also printed about 2:30 a.m. Halloween night, and 2:30 a.m., are not the same part of the clock. 8th Street, and 89th Street, are not the same corner. None of these pages prints the woman's name.

The vehicle is not one description. FOX 10's updated story still describes the then-unnamed suspect as a Hispanic man between 30 and 40, with thin facial hair, last seen in a black shirt, driving a light-colored SUV. The arrest names Mach Kim. No page used here prints his age. Between 30 and 40 is that description. It is not a stated age for Kim. FOX 10 later refers to search warrants at the suspect's SUV and home. Arizona's Family reported detectives, with the city's Real Time Operations Center, linked a newer-model Ram pickup to the crime, and that officers later searched his home and car. The Tempe Independent reported the vehicle believed connected to the crime was a newer-model white Dodge Ram, and, in the next paragraph, that warrants were executed at the suspect's SUV and home. A white Dodge Ram, a Ram pickup, a light-colored SUV, and an SUV are not the same vehicle, and the Dodge Ram and the SUV are both on the Tempe Independent. 12 News reported an SUV and evidence in the SUV and the home. FOX 10, Arizona's Family, and the Tempe Independent reported police believe there may be other people who have not come forward, and they printed the Tempe Police Department number 480-350-8311. 12 News printed the same request and the same number. A charge is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

WJLA says Judge Neal Kravitz found Jaime Macedo guilty of voluntary manslaughter while armed. NBC4 says he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Voluntary manslaughter while armed, and voluntary manslaughter, and manslaughter, are not the same count.
