The police release was written for a 9:30 a.m. appearance that had not happened yet. CBC and 980 CJME reported that appearance. CBC says the remand runs to Oct. 29. CJME reports a no-contact order for three people the judge called co-accused, and says no other charges had been announced. Global News described a 25-year-old suspect and did not print his name.

The Regina Police Service said Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, that Maddison Blueeyes, 25, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Deandre Lagimodiere, 20. The release said officers were sent at about 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, to the 1300 block of Robinson Street, found Lagimodiere with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound, began lifesaving measures, and that he was declared dead at the scene. It said the major crimes unit, the forensic identification unit and the Saskatchewan Coroners Service were called in. It said that on Wednesday, Oct. 21, police went to a residence in the 700 block of McTavish Street and arrested Blueeyes on an outstanding warrant, and that the investigation then produced the first-degree murder charge. The release said he would make a first appearance that morning in Regina Provincial Court at 9:30 a.m., and that the death is the city's sixth homicide of 2026. That release is the charge announcement. It was written before the appearance it was announcing.

CBC and 980 CJME reported the appearance the release had scheduled. CBC reported Blueeyes made a first appearance Thursday morning and was remanded in custody until Oct. 29. CBC's headline says he is charged with first-degree murder. One sentence in the body says he "has since been charged with murder." CBC reported police were sent to Robinson Street, near Albert Community School, at about 2 p.m. on Oct. 3, and that he was arrested Wednesday at a home on McTavish Street, about a block south of Regent Pool Park, on an outstanding warrant. CBC did not print the 1300 block or the 700 block. 980 CJME reported court was told he is charged with first-degree murder in Lagimodiere's killing, and that he is charged with being unlawfully at large as of Oct. 2, the day before the shooting. CJME reported earlier police postings asking for help finding him said only that he was wanted for being unlawfully at large, and did not say why he had been in custody. CJME reported the judge ordered him not to contact three people described as "co-accused," and that no other charges had been announced. CJME did not print a next date. The Oct. 29 remand is CBC. The unlawfully-at-large count and the no-contact order are CJME.

The street and the wounds are not in the same words. The police release says the 1300 block of Robinson Street, injuries consistent with a gunshot wound, lifesaving measures, and that he was declared dead at the scene. CBC says Robinson Street near Albert Community School, a gunshot wound, life-saving measures, and that he was declared dead at the scene. 980 CJME says the 1300 block, that afternoon, serious gunshot wounds, first aid by officers, and that he was pronounced dead at the scene. Global News reported a 20-year-old, identified as Deandre Lagimodiere, was shot in the North Central area on Oct. 3 and died at the scene in the 1300 block of Robinson Street. Global News reported a 25-year-old was arrested Wednesday in the 700 block of McTavish Street on an outstanding warrant, charged with first-degree murder, and expected to appear Thursday morning. Global News did not print the name Maddison Blueeyes, did not print 2 p.m., and did not call it the sixth homicide. The sixth-homicide line is in the police release, in CBC, and in CJME.

CJME also reported the courtroom. It said Blueeyes stepped into the prisoner box in a long-sleeved black shirt, with long hair on top and the sides of his head shaved, and that a small group at the front of the gallery held up a framed picture as he walked past them to leave. CJME did not name the judge. The police release's 9:30 a.m. line is the time that notice set. CBC and CJME reported that he appeared Thursday morning and did not print 9:30. The first-degree murder count is what the release and CJME said he is charged with. CBC's headline says the same count, and one sentence in its body says charged with murder. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Philip Ambrose pleaded not guilty to murder and guilty to manslaughter in the death of Michael Hayes.

The plea those outlets reported is an admission to manslaughter. It is not a sentence. The Leader says he is back on Oct. 30 so a sentencing date can be set. RTÉ and The Journal say next Friday, for a date for the sentence hearing, and do not print Oct. 30. The Leader is also the outlet that says the prosecution told the court the plea was acceptable to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Thursday is the charge. The force's Oct. 21 update was an arrest on suspicion, after a policing operation at Ger-y-Nant. BBC reported that arrest was Tuesday. The wound words are not shared.
