A first-degree murder booking after a fatal stabbing is the charge. It is not a finding that Manuel Farfan-Cabello killed Ylda Cabello-Ynocente. CBS News Miami and NBC 6 South Florida use that full name and identify her as his mother. WSVN identifies the man in custody as Manuel Cabello and does not print her name. NBC 6's neighbor account of blood and broken windows is not a police finding.

CBS News Miami reported that a man is facing a first-degree murder charge after authorities said he fatally stabbed his mother Friday night in Tamarac. The station, citing the Broward Sheriff's Office, reported that Manuel Farfan-Cabello, 28, was arrested and taken to the Broward County Main Jail. It reported that deputies responded around 7:45 p.m. to a home along the 5300 block of Northwest 28th Avenue and found his 58-year-old mother, Ylda Cabello-Ynocente, suffering from multiple stab wounds, and that emergency personnel pronounced her dead at the scene. CBS News Miami reported that the motive and the circumstances were not immediately known.

NBC 6 South Florida reported that Farfan-Cabello, 28, was charged with first-degree murder, that deputies arrived near that same block after reports of a stabbing, and that they found a woman suffering from stab wounds who was pronounced dead. The station identified his mother as Ylda Cabello-Ynocente. It reported that he was found and arrested as deputies continued to investigate. WSVN reported that the stabbing was Friday evening near the 5300 block of Northwest 28th Avenue, that deputies located a woman with stab wounds and that she was pronounced dead at the scene, and that a man detained at the scene was later identified as 28-year-old Manuel Cabello. WSVN reported that investigators said the incident was domestic and that the victim was Cabello's mother, and that deputies arrested him for first-degree murder. WSVN does not print the mother's name. CBS News Miami and NBC 6 do. NBC 6's account of the arrest is that he was found while the investigation continued. WSVN's account is that he was detained at the scene.

NBC 6 reported that neighbors described Ylda as a sweet, quiet woman who lived there with her son, and quoted one neighbor saying, "She was very quiet. I've seen her on the porch a few times, and we waved hi to her." The station reported that neighbors said this was not the first time deputies had been called to the home. It reported that one neighbor said Manuel smashed all the windows at the home a few months ago, and that the same neighbor said Manuel knocked on their door Friday afternoon, asked for a cigarette, and appeared to have blood on him. Those are a neighbor's statements as NBC 6 reported them. They are not findings in a charging document. NBC 6 reported that dive teams spent hours searching a lake across the street and that the sheriff's office confirmed they were searching for evidence. It quoted neighbor Tim Emerson: "They were looking up trees. They were looking through the backyard. They were looking through down at the lakes." NBC 6 reported that what led up to the stabbing is unclear and that the investigation remains active. A first-degree murder charge is the accusation. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
