A booking on two murder counts is an accusation. Marcelino Castro, 28, of San Jose, was booked into the Santa Clara County Jail on suspicion of two counts of murder after police say he flagged down a San Jose officer Saturday, Sept. 19, 2026, about 5:15 p.m. near Lelong Street and West Alma Avenue, where officers found a deceased man, and then described a second homicide near Autumn Parkway and Coleman Avenue, where a second victim was found near the Guadalupe River. An alleged statement to police is evidence for a court, not a conviction, and with the victims not publicly identified and the motive not detailed, the charging paper is what is live.

KTVU, citing the San Jose Police Department, identified him as Marcelino Castro, 28, of San Jose. That report said he flagged down an officer Saturday just after 5 p.m., that officers found a deceased victim in the area of Lelong Avenue and Alma Avenue, and that he then detailed a second homicide that led officers to Autumn Parkway and Coleman Avenue. ABC7, citing a San Jose police news release, reported the time as about 5:15 p.m. and the first scene as the area around Lelong Street and West Alma Avenue, where officers found a dead man. The same release, as ABC7 reported it, said he then allegedly admitted a second killing near Autumn Parkway and Coleman Avenue, and that both bodies were found in different areas near the Guadalupe River. Street-name wording differs between those accounts. Both describe the same Saturday booking. Neither is a verdict.

KTVU reported that the two victims have not been identified and that police have not detailed a motive or the circumstances. ABC7 reported the booking as on suspicion of two counts of murder. A booking on suspicion is an accusation. It is not a finding that he killed either person, and an alleged statement to an officer is not a conviction. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Tuscaloosa police charged Daronte Collins with felony murder after a Saturday apartment-complex shooting.

WBRC's jail photo is captioned Daronte Collins and puts both men at 22. The Tuscaloosa Thread, citing Violent Crimes Unit Lt. Michael Hall, spells the charged man Deronte and puts both at 20. Patch and the Calhoun Journal also use Daronte and 20. A felony-murder count, which the Thread and the Journal describe as Alabama's rule when someone dies during a robbery, is not a finding that Collins fired the shot that killed Tyson. The Thread says the 25-year-old has not been charged.

High Point police charged Kymberli Bowden with first-degree murder in her 13-year-old daughter's death.

The Oct. 8 release is a new murder count on a case the department charged in 2025 as felony child abuse and concealment of death. It is not a trial. The murder-charge release says she remains in jail with no bond. WXII reported a violent-offense hold and a $1 million bond on the older counts. The 2025 release listed her age as 44. The murder-charge release, WXII, and FOX 35 Orlando list 45.

Chicago police charged Chevazz Campbell in the stabbing death of CTA janitor Julian Mobley.

A detention hearing is the first court date. It is not a finding that Campbell stabbed anyone. The department's Sunday release says he robbed and fatally stabbed a 41-year-old man in the 2000 block of West Lake Street. ABC7 and CBS Chicago name that man as Julian Mobley and describe a fare dispute that turned into a stabbing. The department's charge list and CBS Chicago's shorter summary do not match count for count.
