An arrest warrant is a police officer's sworn accusation. A formal charge from the district attorney is the next step, and it is the one that puts a case on a trial track. That is what TMZ says has now happened to Mia Thornton, nearly a year after police say she moved out of a rented Atlanta condo in the middle of the night with the furniture. It is still an accusation.
TMZ reported Friday, Oct. 9, 2026, that court documents show the Fulton County District Attorney's Office has filed a felony theft by taking charge against Mia Thornton, the former "Real Housewives of Potomac" cast member. According to TMZ, the documents allege that Thornton and an associate, Jared McGriff, took furniture and a TV worth at least $5,000 but less than $25,000 on Oct. 28, 2025. TMZ reported the alleged theft happened while the two were moving out of a furnished condo in the middle of the night. A felony charge is an accusation. It is not a conviction.
The case dates to November 2025. FOX 5 Atlanta reported at the time that Thornton, whose full name is Mia Nicole Fields-Thornton and who was 40 then, was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport and booked into the Fulton County Jail on a felony theft by taking warrant. The warrant, sworn out by Atlanta Police Investigator Mark Taylor, accused her and co-tenant McGriff of removing furnishings from a condo they rented in the 700 block of West Marietta Street NW. FOX 5 reported the lease required the furniture to stay, and that property management documented $11,022.15 in missing items, including a TV, a dining table, seven dining chairs, a sectional couch, accent tables, a floor lamp, patio furniture and a fireplace remote. NBC News also reported the roughly $11,000 figure.
FOX 5 Atlanta reported that the condo owner, who lives overseas, filed a police report on Nov. 6, 2025, and that Thornton waived her first appearance, with a judge setting bond at $2,500. In Georgia, theft by taking is a felony when the value tops $1,500. FOX 5 reported at the time that police had not said whether McGriff would also be charged. TMZ's report names him in the new charging documents. After her arrest, TMZ reported, Thornton posted that she was trying to stay "grounded" in the middle of "chaos." She was on "RHOP" from Season 6 through Season 9 before moving to Atlanta.
The new filing moves the case forward. It does not decide it. No plea or trial date was reported. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Page Six says unsealed records from the Lively-Baldoni fight include Ryan Reynolds texts calling Baldoni a "predator and sociopath."
A text message in a court file is proof that someone wrote something. It is not a finding that what he wrote is true. Reynolds was angry in August 2024, and the records Page Six obtained show it. Baldoni has denied Lively's allegations from the start, and no jury ever ruled on them. Page Six reported the case settled in May. What is left now is the paper trail.

LAPD homicide detectives searched Joshua Tree on Friday for evidence in Christina Downer's disappearance.
A search by homicide detectives is a step in an investigation. It is not an arrest, and it is not a finding that anyone killed Christina Downer. Fox News reported the LAPD would not say what evidence detectives hoped to find in Joshua Tree, or whether they were looking for remains or a suspect. NBC Los Angeles reported that dogs were part of the search. Fox News reported a department spokesperson could not confirm the dogs. No one has been named or charged.

LAPD booked Gregory Walker on a felony assault count in the February shooting of 49ers lineman Keion White.
A booking described to a newspaper is the police account of who is in custody and on what count. It is not a criminal complaint the public has seen, and it is not a conviction. The New York Post reported that LAPD officials named Gregory Walker as the suspected gunman in the February shooting of Keion White. The Post did not report a charge against Lil Baby, who was described as the person White argued with before the shots. What a witness told police about two gunshots is an allegation. A jury has not heard it.
